Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi meets J-K LG Manoj Sinha in Srinagar
Srinagar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], June 25 (ANI): Filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi met with Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Wednesday here, a release said.
The 'Khakee' director was accompanied by Shri Pradeep Sharma, Founder and Shri Rahul Nehra, Founder & Managing Director of Citara Group.
The delegation discussed with the Lieutenant Governor about promotion of film-related activities in the Kashmir valley. The representatives of Citara Group also outlined their plans to set up a film city in Srinagar and to open a cinema hall and a film Museum in Pahalgam.
Meanwhile, on the film front, in the coming months, Rajkumar Santoshi is all set to come up with 'Lahore 1947', which stars Sunny Deol in the lead role.
The shooting for Lahore 1947 was concluded in 2024 after an intensive 70-days schedule.
For Lahore 1947, Aamir Khan has tepping into the role of producer, bringing his vision and expertise to the project through Aamir Khan Productions. Preity G Zinta, Veteran actor Shabana Azmi and Ali Fazal are also a part of the film. (ANI)

Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 9: Aamir Khan has made a smashing comeback at the box office with Sitaare Zameen Par. The film has crossed the Rs 100 crore mark in nine days. A spiritual successor to Aamir Khan's 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par, Sitaare Zameen Par is the 7th film of Aamir and his first in 7 years to enter the Rs 100 crore club. The actor's last movie to hit the milestone was Thugs of Hindostan. For the unversed, it was Aamir's 2008 drama Ghajini which became the first Indian film to reach the Rs 100 crore milestone. His acting was first-class in the movie… I liked the story as well. It was well-written. Anyone who watches this movie will not only enjoy it but also learn a lot.' Will Smith reflects on Chris Rock Oscars slap
Washington [US], June 29 (ANI): Academy Award-winning actor and rapper Will Smith has seemingly referenced his infamous slap of Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars in a recent freestyle session. During a visit to British DJ Charlie Sloth's 'Fire in the Booth,' Smith rapped, "If you talking crazy out your face up on the stage and disrespect me on the stage, expect me on the stage." He continued, "Jokers dish it out, cry foul when it's time to take it/City full of real ones, wasn't raised to fake it," as quoted by People magazine. The lyrics appear to reference the incident at the 94th Academy Awards, where Smith walked on stage and slapped Rock after the comedian made a joke about Smith's wife, Jada Pinkett Smith's, shaved head. Rock had said, "Jada, I love ya. GI Jane 2, can't wait to see ya," referencing the 1997 film GI Jane, in which Demi Moore's character shaves her head. Pinkett Smith has been open about her struggles with alopecia. Following the slap, Smith issued a public apology to Rock, stating, "Violence in all of its forms is poisonous and destructive. My behaviour at last night's Academy Awards was unacceptable and inexcusable." Smith resigned from the Academy and was banned from attending their ceremonies for 10 years. This isn't the first time Smith has referenced the incident in his music. His recent album, 'Based on a True Story,' features lyrics that seem to allude to the slap. Grosse Pointe Garden Society cast bids farewell after series cancelled for second season
Washington DC [US], June 29 (ANI): Following the announcement of NBC that the series 'Grosse Pointe Garden Society' would not be back to bloom for a second season, the cast bid a heartfelt farewell to the series. Melissa Fumero, who played society newbie Birdie on the Jenna Bans and Bill Krebs-created series, paid tribute to the character with some behind-the-scenes photos and a statement on Instagram. "This one stings. This job is not for the faint of heart," she wrote Saturday on her Instagram Story, sharing Deadline's reporting of the cancellation. "Thanks for watching our little show," reported Variety. Sharing the snaps from the series, the actress wrote, "Oh, Birdie. You were one for the books. You felt like an amalgamation of every role I've ever played. I'll miss so many things about this job, but most of all I will miss the incredible group of humans it brought together. I won't miss the shoes. It's really hard to make a show. Even harder to keep it on air. I'll forever be proud of what we made. Thanks for watching." Actress AnnaSophia Robb, who starred as high school teacher Alice, wrote with a cast photo on her Instagram Story, "Damn. I will miss our GPGS family.
