Dylan Harper makes Manu Ginobili admission as he starts NBA, Spurs journey
The post Dylan Harper makes Manu Ginobili admission as he starts NBA, Spurs journey appeared first on ClutchPoints. The San Antonio Spurs added Dylan Harper to lead the new movement near the River Walk. The franchise will hope this move flows into recapturing their glory years. The ones that recently saw Manu Ginobili near the forefront. Advertisement Harper signed his contract already. But Harper himself made a Ginobili admission. Right before he starts his journey with the franchise and NBA. The No. 2 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft namedropped the Spurs legend as part of his league development. Harper is already picking the franchise legend's brain as he prepares to join the Spurs. 'I talk to him the most,' Harper said to NBA insider Marc J. Spears of Andscape/ESPN Wednesday. 'More about just the game and the speed and just how he adapted to it from a FIBA standpoint to coming over here.' He's asked Ginobili some major questions. Ranging from: 'What was his biggest changes being a player and being professional outside of basketball? What kept you locked in? Just all little things I think that every NBA player goes through.' Advertisement Dylan Harper awestruck by 2 more Spurs legends Scott Wachter-Imagn Images Ginobili moved into a special advisor role following his stellar Spurs career. The Argentinian shooting guard went to two NBA All-Star games while leading four NBA titles in the 2000s for San Antonio. Ginobili wasn't the only revered Spur Harper ran into. He crossed paths with Gregg Popovich and Tim Duncan. 'I met Pop the first day I was there and Tim. Pop was there getting treatment and doing exercises. That is not regular in any NBA gym. You see a Hall of Fame coach, a Hall of Fame player walking around the gym. And they are there like every day. I can pick their brain and ask questions,' Harper said. Advertisement He told Spears that suiting up for the Spurs is 'a dream come true.' Harper already boldly dropped a playoff prediction following his selection. The franchise will hope he's the new piece who lifts them back to the postseason. Which will end a six-season postseason drought. San Antonio Spurs Have Tough Pill to Swallow After Two Summer League Games
San Antonio Spurs Have Tough Pill to Swallow After Two Summer League Games originally appeared on Athlon Sports. It's the dog days of the NBA calendar, which means it's time to overreact to the Summer League. However, second-year forward Harrison Ingram is no stranger to professional basketball and was expected to be one of the best players on the San Antonio Spurs' summer roster. Advertisement He's been just fine, but "just fine" in the summer doesn't scream "NBA success." In two Summer League games, he has scored a total of 11 points and nabbed 11 rebounds. At 6-5 and 230 pounds, he has the physicality to create space on the glass and defend well, although he looks like a good college player: not fast enough for the NBA. Ingram, on a two-way contract last season, did not crack the Spurs' rotation, and in Austin averaged only 12.8 points. Granted, he posted 9.3 rebounds and played solid defense, but at 22 years old, he is already close to his ceiling. When the Spurs drafted him 48th overall last season, they obviously saw some potential, but fans of the franchise that drafted Manu Ginobili might not fully grasp how rare it is for second-round picks to make it in the NBA. Advertisement Ingram will likely play a slightly bigger role next season and will stay on a two-way deal, although the clock is ticking, and the limited Summer League sample so far suggests that Ingram will not be a rotational player in San Antonio any time soon. Tony Parker house details: Kai Cenat stream reveals $16.5M mansion complete with Nando's restaurant
The Spurs' dynasty didn't come with bells and whistles. Gregg Popovich valued players with simple off-the-court lives and a high work ethic who were willing to work as a team. Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker embodied those values, as did Kawhi Leonard when he joined the fray. Advertisement As it turns out, Parker isn't exactly living the simple life in his post-playing career. A live stream appearance with Kai Cenat revealed Parker is living the dream in a massive mansion, which includes his own restaurant. Cenat and other popular streamers are spending their "30 Days of Summer" marathon in Parker's house, creating an odd mashup throughout July. Here's what you need to know about Parker's house and where it's located. 📲 Follow The Sporting News on WhatsApp Where does Tony Parker live? Parker's mansion is located in Boerne, Texas, a San Antonio suburb just north of the city. In 2018, Parker actually personalized the address of the home, renaming it to 9 Rue Parker in a tribute to his jersey number. "Rue" translates to "street" in French. Advertisement The former Spurs guard has made a home in the San Antonio area despite hailing from France, and who can blame him with the mansion he has? The city has shown its love for Parker over the years, and he has shown plenty back to the community. As of 2020, the population of Boerne is just under 18,000. Here are the details on Parker's house and its amenities. MORE:Does Kai Cenat play basketball? Tony Parker house details Parker's house is loaded with amenities, to no surprise. The mansion features a private water park, including lazy rivers, and it has 10 bedrooms, eight bathrooms and four additional partial bathrooms. The property spans 53 acres. Advertisement The house includes a nearly 6,000-square foot gym, a tennis court, an outdoor volleyball court and, of course, a basketball court. All of that working out would make someone hungry. What wasn't well-known before Cenat started streaming in the house is that Parker has a 24-hour Nando's PERi-PERi chicken restaurant. The live stream showed a massive Nando's logo, bar seating and an employee behind the bar. The mansion also features a wine room that can fit up to 1,500 bottles. Here's what a prospective buyer wouldn't get: the "champion room," which features Parker's jerseys, trophies and NBA championship rings. Well, you would get the room — just don't expect Parker's prized possessions to come with it. Advertisement The exact value is the house isn't clear. Parker listed it for $16.5 million in 2024 but has since taken it off the market. It was also listed for $19.5 million in 2021. Whether the mansion would fetch $16.5 million at this point is unknown, but all of the amenities Parker has at his disposal wouldn't come cheap. MORE:Inside newest Spurs standout Dylan Harper's family tree What is Nando's restaurant? Nando's is a fast-food chicken chain that specializes in Portuguese-style peri-peri chicken. The chain started in South Africa and has more than 1,200 restaurants in operation across the world. Advertisement Nando's is fairly new to the United States. The first restaurant opened in Washington D.C. in 2008, and there are still only 46 locations in the U.S. — or 47, if you count Parker's private restaurant. With only four public Nando's restaurants in Texas, anyone looking for some PERi-PERi chicken might find that their closest location is actually right in the middle of a former NBA champion's mansion. MORE:Ranking the 16 biggest busts in NBA Draft history Tony Parker career earnings and net worth Parker made $165.8 million in NBA contracts over the course of an 18-year career that included four championships. His largest contract was signed in 2004, when he agreed to a six-year, $66 million extension with the Spurs. Parker ultimately spent 17 of his 18 seasons in San Antonio, so it's no surprise he's chosen to stay in the area long-term even after his playing career. Advertisement Parker's net worth is an estimated $85 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Some of that money went toward his Boerne mansion, which undoubtedly requires constant upkeep between the waterpark, gym and Nando's. MORE:Every Game 7 in NBA Finals history

Gregg Popovich 911 call reveals distressing moment legendary NBA coach was 'barely responding'
The 911 call of the moment legendary NBA coach Gregg Popovich was 'barely responding' at a restaurant last month has come to light. TMZ revealed details of the panicked call made by a man at Ruth's Chris Steak House in San Antonio on April 15. The former Spurs coach, 76, was rushed to hospital after the incident which occurred just six months after he had a mild stroke. Worrying footage later emerged of the five-time NBA champion lying on a stretcher and being placed into an ambulance after reportedly fainting. In the audio, you can hear the man tell the 911 operator that Popovich, who he didn't identify, had just passed out. Describing Popovich as a 'guest', the man said he was 'non-responding' before later changing his phrasing to 'barely responding.' Moments later, he noted that Popovich was starting to come around. 'Ok. He's responding now,' the man says. 'He passed out for a little bit.' Popovich suffered a stroke before the Spurs-Timberwolves game on November 2 and was replaced by Mitch Johnson for the final 77 games of the season. He left fans concerned in recent weeks when he made his first public appearance in six months. As Johnson was formally introduced as the team's new head coach, Popovich - who will be moving upstairs to the role of team president - revealed a shirt reading 'El Jefe' as he displayed his trademark wit. But Popovich still showed some signs of his health issues, as he grabbed onto his former player Manu Ginobili at one point when turning around, while another one of his ex-Spurs stars, Tim Duncan, carried a cane for him. He also spoke far more softly than he has in the past, as he said his health was improving. Popovich, who has more wins than any other coach in the history of the NBA, led Team USA to Olympic gold at the 2020 Tokyo games.
