5-year-old boy left at restaurant in Malaysia, family realised he was missing 1.5 hours later
Find out what's new on ST website and app. A five-year-old boy was left behind at a restaurant in Malaysia and his family did not realise the child was missing until an hour and a half later. Diners at an eatery in Temerloh town in the Malaysian state of Pahang noticed the boy was alone at 10pm on July 26 and alerted the police. 'The boy was found in good condition but (he) is not good at communicating. He is estimated to be about five-years-old and is now at the Temerloh police station,' Temerloh police said in a Facebook post on July 27. The boy's family had initially stopped at the restaurant for supper in two vehicles, Malaysian news reports said. 'The child had initially wanted to follow his father's cousin but did not get onto the vehicle,' Temerloh district police chief Mazlan Hassan said. 'The family only realised he was not with them when they reached Gambang,' he added. The distance between Temerloh and Gambang is 110km, about an hour and a half in a car. Top stories Swipe. Select. They picked up the boy at 12.40am on July 27.

MPV crashes into four parked cars in Temerloh
TEMERLOH: Four anglers fishing at a floating jetty along Sungai Pahang had a rude shock when a multi-purpose vehicle (MPV) crashed into their parked cars at Km4 of Jalan Triang-Temerloh yesterday. The 52-year-old Toyota Vellfire MPV driver escaped with only minor injuries in the 1am crash. District police chief Assistant Commissioner Mazlan Hassan said the four anglers had parked their vehicles along the roadside while they were engaged in fishing activities at the nearby jetty. "Investigations revealed that the Vellfire driver, who was travelling from Gemas, Negri Sembilan, to Temerloh, had swerved to avoid a lorry that had entered his lane. "The MPV veered into the opposite lane and crashed into two Proton Personas, a Perodua Myvi, and a Perodua Viva, all of which were parked on the road shoulder," he said in a statement. He said the MPV driver's urine test came back negative and police were investigating him for failing to maintain control of his vehicle.

Temerloh accident: Driver of car involved in fatal accident remanded for seven days
TEMERLOH: The car driver believed to be involved in the fatal accident that killed two teenage girls at the traffic light intersection on Jalan Tengku Ismail here yesterday has been remanded for seven days. Temerloh District Police Chief ACP Mazlan Hassan said the 38-year-old man, whose address is in Kepong, Kuala Lumpur, was detained starting today until June 18. 'The suspect was remanded to assist investigations under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952 and Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987,' he said in a statement today. Earlier, Mazlan was reported to have said that a search of the car found plastic packets suspected to contain syabu and heroin drugs estimated to be worth more than RM6,000. In the incident around 11 pm, motorcyclist Nur Irdina Shaffiya Muhammad Nazri and her pillion rider, Aneez Irdiena Sofya Khairul Azman, both aged 18, died at the scene, believed to have been hit by a Perodua Bezza car while they had stopped at a red traffic light.
