Fayetteville police investigating early-morning homicide off Camden Road
Fayetteville police are investigating an early morning shooting July 7 off Camden Road. Officers responded at 2:02 a.m. July 7 to reports of a shooting on the 400 block of Slim Circle and found a man suffering from gunshot wounds, the Fayetteville Police Department said in a news release. The officers attempted to perform life-saving measures, but the man, identified as Tavon Donte Adams, 28, was pronounced dead at the scene by arriving medical personnel, the release said. The Fayetteville Police Department's Homicide Unit is investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective J. Phillips at 910-322-7046. Champaign man hospitalized in Saturday night shooting
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A 21-year-old Champaign man was hurt after a shooting on Saturday. Officers with the Champaign Police Department responded to the area of Giboney and Tower Streets around 10:40 p.m. after a report that shots had been fired nearby. Police were able to locate an area with evidence of gunfire in the 1400 block of Clock Street. 22-year-old Danville man dead after motorcycle crash Around the same time police were searching for evidence, a man who had been shot walked into an area hospital with wounds in the arm and torso. Police said the man received medical treatment and is hospitalized in stable condition. After investigating, police learned that the 21-year-old was driving through an alley near Clock Street when unknown subjects fired at his vehicle, hitting him in the process. Police were able to find one vehicle that was damaged in this incident. Champaign police remained in the area for several hours to collect evidence, and search for witnesses and video footage that could help the investigation. No arrests have been made as of Sunday afternoon, and the investigation is ongoing. LAPD seeks group of men in another attack on a transgender woman
The Los Angeles Police Department is asking for the public's help to find a group of men who they say attacked a transgender woman over the weekend and are believed to be the same people who attacked her in April. According to LAPD, the group involved in a previous attack returned to the victim's location on May 31 at around 11:38 p.m. in the Westlake District of Los Angeles. They assaulted the 61-year-old, leaving her with serious injuries. The group left the scene before authorities arrived. According to the LAPD, one of the suspected attackers entered the victim's store on April 8 and began flirting with her. But once she rejected his advances, he left and later returned, pushing her to the ground. 'The suspect sexually assaulted the victim and discovered she was a transgender woman. The suspect pulled away and threatened to kill the victim,' the LAPD said. The same man allegedly returned to the victim's location several times along with other men and committed other hate crimes against the victim which included striking her with a skateboard, deploying pepper spray, and throwing an unknown liquid substance at her while another man attempted to stun her with a Taser. Detectives believe there may be other unidentified victims and are seeking the public's help in identifying the suspected attackers and released their photographs. Anyone who may have been a victim or has additional information regarding the identification of the suspects, is urged to contact Rampart Division Robbery Detectives at 213-484-3495. During non-business hours or on weekends, calls should be directed to 1-877-LAPD-24-7 (1-877-527-3247). Anyone wishing to remain anonymous should call the L.A. Four-year-old hospitalized after gunfire in Champaign home
CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WCIA) — A teenager was arrested after a four-year-old was shot in the foot over the weekend in Champaign. The Champaign Police Department said officers responded to an apartment building in the 2400 block of N. Neil Street just after 5 p.m. on Saturday. When they arrived on scene, officers soon found a four-year-old who received a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to the foot. Armed Urbana man arrested following road rage incident Police, along with the Champaign Fire Department, administered aid and then transported the child to the hospital. The child is hospitalized in stable condition. After investigating, police learned that child was in the care of a 17-year-old family member when a firearm was discharged. The teenager was arrested on initial charges of reckless discharge of a firearm and unlawful possession of a firearm. Police are still investigating.
