Chiefs rookie preview: Omarr Norman-Lott 2025 stat projections
The Kansas City Chiefs selected Tennessee Volunteers standout Omarr Norman-Lott with the 63rd overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. During his two seasons in Knoxville, Norman-Lott totaled 9.5 sacks and applied pressure on 14.9% of his pass rush attempts. His presence provides the Chiefs with an interior rusher to complement Chris Jones. Norman-Lott's two biggest competitors for snaps are Mike Pennel and free agent signee Jerry Tillery. Jones will dominate the rotation once again, and there's no realistic chance of Norman-Lott taking snaps away from the future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee. Advertisement Despite being healthy for most of 2024, Pennel played just 320 regular season snaps across his 17 appearances. Tillery, who spent last year in Minnesota, played 467 snaps across 17 games. His addition doesn't even come close to replacing the 888 snaps vacated by Tershawn Wharton and Derrick Nnadi, who departed Kansas City as free agents. The Chiefs lack developmental options behind Norman-Lott. Barring excellent offseasons, Fabien Lovett Sr. and Marlon Tuipulotu won't require snaps in 2025. That limits Kansas City's interior defensive line rotation to Jones, Norman-Lott, Pennel and Tillery, creating an excellent environment for the rookie to win snaps. One of Norman-Lott's greatest weaknesses as a prospect was his lack of involvement on run downs. He faced run plays just 250 times across his final three collegiate seasons. For reference, Jones, who isn't an enthusiastic run defender, faced runs 224 times in 2024 alone. This trend might limit Norman-Lott to playing on passing downs, significantly reducing his snap total but refining his efficiency. Advertisement Playing primarily on passing downs allows Norman-Lott to maintain his explosiveness and energy throughout games, resulting in beneficial matchups in key late game situations. This snap allocation often results in a boom in sack and pressure production for athletic rushers. Norman-Lott may put together a watered-down version of Braden Fiske's rookie campaign. If the new Chiefs rookie plays 500 snaps, with roughly 350 of those serving as pass rush opportunities, he could amass six or seven sacks and more than 30 pressures. Those aren't Defensive Rookie of the Year numbers, but they serve as a solid foundation for Norman-Lott's development. Eagles insider brings LeSean McCoy back into the Pro Football Hall of Fame discussion
An Eagles insider is just breathed new life into the LeSean McCoy Hall of Fame discussion. It's hard to bring up great running backs in the City of Brotherly Love without mentioning the great LeSean McCoy. He may not be the best Philadelphia Eagles star to wear the 25 jersey. That honor belongs to the great Tommy McDonald, but McCoy took a legend's number and furthered its legacy. Few had the physical gifts that Shady possessed. No Eagle has tallied more career rushing yards as a member of this franchise. McCoy's 6,792 big ones are the most we've seen. Perhaps none were more beautiful than a 40-yard jaunt through the snow vs. the Detroit Lions in the 2013 Blizzard Bowl. His exit, one orchestrated by Chip Kelly, robbed Eagles fans of more, but it didn't stop McCoy's brilliance. He'd go on to tally 11,102 yards during a 12-year career that included a four-year stay with the Buffalo Bills and tacked two Super Bowl-winning seasons on at the end. McCoy won Super Bowl rings with the Kansas City Chiefs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. His resume is impressive. He's a member of the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team and the Philadelphia Eagles Hall of Fame, but is he worthy of enshrinement in Canton, Ohio? That's a discussion an Eagles insider recently reignited. LeSean McCoy is absolutely worthy of the Pro Football Hall of Fame Ed Kracz has long established himself as one of the NFL's most trustworthy voices for Eagles content. He recently reminded everyone that Jason Kelce and Fletcher Cox are both eligible for Pro Football Hall of Fame enshrinement in 2029, but he asks another question. Has LeSean McCoy done enough to be deemed worthy once he becomes eligible in 2026? With all due respect to Kracz and McCoy, the answer to that question is undoubtedly 'YES'. Two First-Team All-Pro nods and six Pro Bowl mentions during the 2010s certainly help his case. Still not convinced? An NFL rushing title in 2013 and pro football's highest touchdown total in 2011 must also be part of the conversation. So are several nuggets that Kracz entered into the discussion. McCoy holds the Eagles franchise records for single-season touchdowns and the team record for 100-yard games (23). Saquon Barkley may, at some point, claim the latter record for himself, but make no mistake. LeSean McCoy is one of the best tailbacks of his era, and it's time for Canton to begin thinking about making the call to place him among the game's immortals.

Eagles' Lane Johnson shines on the small screen with a captivating pre-camp interview
Former Eagles interview a current legend about all things Birds. As one ages, they learn to appreciate things more, such as each Philadelphia Eagles season and another summer. Growing older can sometimes mean that certain parts of the body hurt with no apparent explanation. Why does my calf hurt? All I did was go to sleep last night! It's great to wake up in the morning and get out of bed. But there are other facets to aging. We mature and grow wiser (or at least we should). We learn to stop and 'smell the roses' as they say. We've said all that to say this. As much as we love summertime, Sundays without Eagles football are a drag. Thank Heaven for sports networks and a recent interview featuring two former Eagles and current legend Lane Johnson. FS1's The Facility welcomes Lane Johnson for an exclusive interview There's an old football saying, one coined by another franchise. "Once a raider, always a Raider..." You've probably heard that before. This was expressed when the team was in Los Angeles and Oakland. It hasn't died with the Las Vegas Raiders. There isn't an Eagles parallel. No one says, "Once an Eagle, always an Eagle", but in some ways, the feeling is similar. Unless, of course, we're discussing Chip Kelly or Jason Babin, there is a tendency to check in on former Eagles to see how they are doing. Frankly, that's the only reason we tune into FS1's The Facility. Two former Eagles are hosts, though we associated one with the organization (LeSean McCoy) more than the other (Emmanuel Acho). Anywho... One of our favorite Birds recently joined the broadcast for an exclusive interview. Franchise legend Lane Johnson was recently named as one of two Eagles among the 21st century's top 25 draft picks of the past 25 years. The future Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee discussed everything from Jeff Stoutland's brilliance and the difficulty Philadelphia will face in repeating to, of course, Nick Sirianni and Jalen Hurts. There are too many great quotes and memorable talking points to pull from this one, so here's a suggestion... Watch this one in its entirety when you have a moment. You'll undoubtedly be glad that you did.

Deion Sanders Makes Feelings Clear About Michael Irvin's Home Visit Amid Health Issues
Deion Sanders Makes Feelings Clear About Michael Irvin's Home Visit Amid Health Issues originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Colorado Buffaloes head coach and Pro Football Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders' health issues have forced him to step away from Boulder. Advertisement The 57-year-old said he's doing okay on Wednesday and will send out a health update once he returns to the team. On May 30, he appeared on former NFL defensive back Asante Samuel's Say What Needs To Be Said' podcast and claimed 'what I'm dealing with is on a whole nother level' after losing 14 pounds. Even though it is currently unclear what he is dealing with, the health issues Sanders previously battled include blood clots in his legs, the amputation of two toes and the removal of the sides of his left calf, according to a USA Today report. As the former Dallas Cowboys player is recovering at his estate in Texas, fellow NFL legend Michael Irvin paid him a visit on Wednesday to hopefully raise his spirits. 'My bishop always said when your loved ones are dealing with any difficult issues, you must find ways to make them laugh and change their frequency,' the 59-year-old posted on X. 'I love you to life and forever, my brother @DeionSanders 🙏🏾🙏🏾❤️❤️.' Advertisement Sanders appreciated the kind words and showed his support for Irvin on Thursday. 'Thank you for coming to see me yesterday and boosting my spirits,' he wrote in a recent Instagram post. 'Y'all know Mike a fool 😂😂.' As his recovery continues, Sanders could return to the Buffaloes' sidelines in the coming weeks so he can mentor and lead one of the country's most notable teams. When the spring transfer portal opened on April 17, he recruited former Campbell Camels wide receiver Sincere Brown and Memphis Tigers offensive lineman Xavier Hill. However, Sanders isn't stopping there he plans to target every aspect of the team such as players, coaching staff and personnel, according to Sports Illustrated. He said the special teams unit looks solid but wants to improve every other area, including the quarterback, which will be given to Kaidon Salter or Julian Lewis. Downing-Imagn Images Although there is no word on who is winning the quarterback battle between Salter and Lewis, one of them is expected to start under center in Colorado's first game of the regular season against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets on Aug. 29.
