Shaquille O'Neal Threatens To Punch RGIII In The Face For Disrespecting Angel Reese: 'I Hate You Now'

Angel Reese doesn't need to worry about defending herself against her haters; it appears her mentor, Shaquille O'Neal, has that covered. Shaquille O'Neal Threatens To 'Punch' Former NFL Player RGIII In The Face For Disrespecting Angel Reese Online For those who may be unfamiliar with the situation, a week ago, former NFL player RGIII posted a photo on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter, of Chicago Sky star Reese depicted as a monkey. Advertisement In his post, the former Washington Commanders player condemned the racism directed toward Reese, while also seemingly criticizing the 23-year-old for her spirited rivalry with Caitlin Clark. He didn't stop there, though. RGIII, who hosts the "Outta Pocket" podcast, also posted that people in Reese's inner circle have contacted him and allegedly confirmed that she "hates" Clark, star of the Indiana Fever. The backlash to RGIII's post was swift and fierce, with one commenter calling the retired athlete an "even bigger loser than I thought." Someone else also blasted the father of four, calling him a "disgusting liar" who is "desperate for attention." Advertisement But the fans weren't the only ones with something to say. During Shaq's appearance on the "Off the Record" podcast, the LSU alum had a pointed comment for RGIII, which has left Reese fans with a bit of hope. Shaq Doesn't Play About Angel Reese See the video above. Shaq wasted no time taking aim at RGIII, saying, "Tweet another monkey post about my girl Angel Reese and I'm gonna punch you in your f-cking face." He continued, "It's enough. I don't usually do stuff like this, but stop it, bro. You got your job, you got your podcast. Leave my Angel Reese alone. I'm the one calling her and telling her not to respond. F-cking stop it. That's the last time." Advertisement But that wasn't all the NBA Hall of Famer had to say. He later defended Reese and Clark's tense on-court dynamic, adding, "It's not real hate." "If you look around at what's going on in this real country, that's hate," he continued, adding, "This is sports; I'm not supposed to like you." Shaq Tells RGIII To Leave Angel Reese Alone MEGA "Leave [Angel Reese] alone. You already spoke on it. Let it go. So what? [She] hates her. So f-cking what? I hate you now for messing with her. Now what? Say something about me," he continued. "[Angel] is not soft, by any means," he explained. "She's from the streets. But I'm like, 'You're beautiful, don't indulge with these fools.' Because he's a fool." Advertisement Fans Show Love To Shaq For Defending Reese UNRIVALED On social media, Reese fans expressed their appreciation to Shaq for defending the WNBA star amid the unprecedented amount of online hate she receives. "Violence is sometimes the answer," someone wrote, to which another said, "I know that's right! We love a Black man protecting a Black woman." Someone else wrote, "And if you think Shaq is playing, better check those old NBA games." They added, "Several celebrities have been pressed by Shaq ... So watch RGIII come back real humble because you gotta go outside." Another user shared a similar message, writing, "These are sad times. It takes an OG to come out and threaten these washed male athletes turned podcasters to stop picking fights among women athletes." Advertisement Reese And Her Mother Clapped Back At RGIII ... Blasted Him For Allegedly 'Lying' UNRIVALED Shaq wasn't the only one to call RGIII out for his post. Almost immediately after it went live, Reese fired back indirectly, accusing him of "lying." "Lying on this app when everybody know the first and last name of everybody in my circle for clout is nastyyyy work," she wrote. And she wasn't the only Reese with something to say. Her mother, also named Angel Reese, jumped into the chat and told RGIII to "stop with the [cap]." "My daughter's 'circle' is so small & tight so I'd be interested 2 know who called U ... Whomever U say 'called' U is not in her circle 2 speak on her feelings towards a media/fandom made up beef. Just stay on that side bc the doors are closed over here," she wrote. Since then, RGIII hasn't addressed the controversy publicly, and after Shaq's latest warning, it's unclear whether he ever will.

Commanders Get Worrisome Jayden Daniels Comparison from Cam Newton

Commanders Get Worrisome Jayden Daniels Comparison from Cam Newton originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Washington Commanders have seen some historic rookie seasons. A most wonderful example? In 2012, Heisman Trophy winner Robert Griffin III took the NFL by storm. Advertisement Thanks to RGIII's heroics, Washington won the NFC East as part of a major turnaround. The hope was that the signal-callers' stardom was only just beginning. Football fans know the rest of the story. Injuries derailed a once-promising career, and RGIII became a journeyman. The lessons learned from that experience have some people worried about what could eventually happen to Washington's new star quarterback, Jayden Daniels. Much like RGIII, Daniels is a Heisman Trophy winner and was the second overall pick from his draft class. While Daniels did not win the NFC East in his first year, he helped get Washington to the conference championship game for the first time in three decades. Advertisement So the similarities - right down to their relatively slight builds - are close enough. Those similarities (and differences) are a big reason former league MVP Cam Newton detailed on his latest "Funky Fridays with Cam Newton" podcast why there should be some concern about what could happen to Daniels in Year 2. "There's nobody who had the game in a chokehold like Robert Griffin III," Newton said. "RG3 comes in, has an unbelievable year, and it's like, 'Hold up, he's next." And then, of course, suddenly ... he wasn't. Now, just because Griffin got beaten up and into decline doesn't mean it has to happen again. Maybe a better angle is that it's a cautionary tale for Washington, which should feel both thrilled about its new quarterback and focused on keeping him healthy. Michigan football's Jaylen Pile stuns with clutch OT7 catch for 2026 class

🫨🫨🫨@RGIII @CAT_TAKEOVER @overtime @carebearkieran Michigan football is on a recruiting heater at the moment, adding an incredible amount of top talent to the 2026 class over the past several weeks. But what about those who stayed and have been a part of the class since the beginning? Dallas (Tx.) Parish Episcopal three-star wide receiver Jaylen Pile was the second commitment to the class, and though he isn't as celebrated as other commits and targets, he's still a ball player. And he made sure the nation remembered that on Friday night. Taking part in the OT7 tournament with the team RGIII Takeover, Pile's group was facing insurmountable odds and needed an onside 'kick' in order to come back against C1N, down three points. The sophomore quarterback loaded for bear while Pile took off on a post route, outran the defenders, and when the pass ended up being in the breadbasket, Pile came down with the catch, with two feet inbounds, in the back of the endzone. Though he might not be as ballyhooed as some of the other committed prospects, Pile has repeatedly shown that he's a playmaker, and he's been a voracious recruiter for the Wolverines, to boot. Pile is expected to play slot receiver for the maize and blue when he arrives in Ann Arbor. He is currently one of two committed pass catchers in the 2026 class, with the other being four-star Zion Robinson, who pledged to the program earlier in the week. Michigan is favored to land at least one more, if not two receivers, in Chesapeake (Va.) Oscar Smith four-star Travis Johnson, and Miami (Fla.) Northwestern five-star Calvin Russell.

RGIII says quiet part out loud about Aaron Rodgers-led Steelers

RGIII says quiet part out loud about Aaron Rodgers-led Steelers Aaron Rodgers is a Pittsburgh Steeler — but that likely didn't change the recent 'standard' of mediocrity. For far too long, the Steelers have accepted first-round exits in the playoffs as long as HC Mike Tomlin achieves his winning season — and Robert Griffin III believes the Rodgers acquisition does nothing to alleviate these concerns. RGIII argued on social media that despite the Steelers likely having a mediocre winning record either way, starting Mason Rudolph or Will Howard over Rodgers may have been the way to go: "The Pittsburgh Steelers flipped the script on the narrative for their season by signing Aaron Rodgers. 10-7, playoffs and early exit with Mason Rudolph or Will Howard at QB = Amazing job. 10-7, playoffs and early exit with Aaron Rodgers at QB = Fans calling for changes." Griffin hit the nail right on the head — as Tomlin was praised for taking the Big Ben-less, Devlin 'Duck' Hodges/Rudolph-led Steelers to an 8-8 record in 2019, but was criticized heavily for last year's 10-7 record under Russell Wilson at QB. It's unlikely Steelers President Art Rooney II would pull the plug on Pittsburgh's head coach anytime soon — but no one can deny Tomlin now has sky-high expectations heading into the season. 'I didn't insult or attack her,' Ryan Clark states acknowledging misstep in explosive RGIII feud

Ryan Clark's apology to RGIII (Image via Getty) Ryan Clark's apology to RGIII shows how it's possible to keep in check two opposing forces in sports, being passionate and respecting one another. Sparked by RGIII's critique of Angel Reese, Clark responded by invoking RGIII's marriage to a white woman, using it to challenge his understanding of Black women's experiences. While Clark clarified that his intent wasn't to insult RGIII's wife, he later admitted that mentioning her was unnecessary and uncalled for. After backlash, Ryan Clark admits his comments crossed a personal line and apologizes publicly After facing backlash for involving RGIII's wife in a public debate, Ryan Clark took a step back to reassess his words. He acknowledged that his approach may have crossed a personal line. With clarity and accountability, he used his platform to issue a thoughtful response. — Realrclark25 (@Realrclark25) 'If I had to address @RGIII again I wouldn't include his wife,' Clark stated on X. 'She didn't need to be made an example of in order to make my point.' He went on to acknowledge the underlying motivation, 'The optics of his video & personal history with RGIII played a part in how I addressed him. I didn't insult or attack her, but no matter the intent… the impact was different.'
