Ramon Sosa leaves Nottingham Forest for Brazilian club Palmeiras
Ramon Sosa has joined Brazilian club Palmeiras from Nottingham Forest after just a year with the Midlands club. The Paraguay international winger joined Forest in August 2024 in an £11million move from Argentine side CA Talleres. He scored one goal – against Brighton in September last year – in 19 Premier League appearances, only one of which was a start. Advertisement The 25-year-old did also net twice in the FA Cup, as Nuno Espirito Santo's side reached the semi-finals of the competition last season. But he generally found it hard to secure a regular starting place in the side as Forest unexpectedly pushed for European football last term. Sosa, who has 22 caps for his national team, returns to South America with the four-time Copa Libertadores winners, who currently sit fourth in Brazil's Serie A. With Anthony Elanga also expected to make a £52million move to Newcastle United, Forest will look to bolster their wide options this summer. They have a number of winger targets, with PSV's Johan Bakayoko among those on their list of potential options. ()

Ramon Sosa Set to Join Palmeiras from Forest
Nottingham Forest have reportedly reached an agreement with Palmeiras for the sale of Paraguayan winger Ramon Sosa. According to the Telegraph's John Percy, Forest will receive £10 million for the 25-year-old attacker. Advertisement Sosa joined the Premier League club in 2024 and made 23 appearances under manager Nuno Espirito Santo. He bagged three goals and an assist during his time at the City Ground. Despite showing flashes of quality, Sosa struggled to secure a regular starting role at Forest. The move to Palmeiras will reunite Sosa with fellow Paraguayan Gustavo Gomez, who is the team captain and a key figure in the national team. Sosa will be a huge boost to Palmeiras' attacking options Sosa previously played in his native Paraguay before moving to Argentina. Known for his pace and flair, Sosa often cuts inside from the left wing to shoot with his stronger right foot. Advertisement He is also known for his direct attacking style and quick dribbling, which make him a constant threat in one-on-one situations. Although he prefers to play on the left, Sosa is capable of operating on either wing or in an advanced central role. He is energetic and not afraid to track back and help in defensive duties when needed. His adaptability and physical strength make him well-suited to the demands of South American football. Palmeiras are expected to benefit from his attacking quality as they continue their push in league and continental competitions. Forest will now look to reinvest the transfer fee into their squad. Advertisement They attempted to sign Timothy Weah from Juventus, but will now shift focus to alternative targets after the deal collapsed. Strengthening their attacking options will be key to maintaining their momentum going into the new season.
