Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark bag a surprise new series of their show after their Bafta triumph

FIRST they took a trip to Italy, then India and now Rob Rinder and Rylan Clark are off on another Grand Tour adventure. I can reveal the duo are making a third series of their acclaimed BBC Two travelogue even though the second season, which they filmed last year, is yet to air. 9 It comes after the popularity of Rob & Rylan's Grand Tour among viewers and critics alike led the show to scoop a telly Bafta. An insider said: 'The success of the show was as much a surprise to the boys as it was to anyone else because it was almost a TV experiment. 'What would happen if you take two people — one from highbrow culture, the other from pop culture — and send them off on their travels? The answer is hilarious, moving and educational telly, loved by both the viewers, critics and the execs alike. 'It's relatively early days yet, and it's not clear where the third series will take them.' The first series of Rob and Rylan's cultural adventure took them from Venice to Florence and Rome, and bagged them the Factual Entertainment gong at the Baftas TV Awards in May, beating the BBC's ratings hit, Race Across the World. Receiving his gong, a stunned Rylan said: 'This is so surreal, thank you so much to Bafta for this. We didn't know what we were making when we first landed in Venice. 'We were in the edit and we watched it for the first time and I turned to Rob and said: 'We're either going to get cancelled or win a Bafta. I'm so glad it was the latter. A year or so on, we're different people because of that show.' Rylan shares first look at epic new adventure with Rob Rinder as they jet to India for hit BBC travel series 9 Stephen's career is back on track STEPHEN TOMPKINSON is back – and he's just wrapped filming on a very steamy movie. These exclusive shots show him in his role as railway pioneer George Stephenson who – invented locomotive engine the 'Rocket' – for an upcoming drama-documentary about how the first steam-powered passenger line came into being. 9 9 Stephen, who has starred in Wild At Heart and DCI Banks, was spotted filming in Bishop Auckland, County Durham, alongside actor Michael Hodgson for The First Five Miles, which focuses on the Stockton and Darlington Railway. The project marks his first screen role since being cleared of GBH in 2023, after an altercation with a drunk man outside his home. Good to have you back, Stephen. 9 9 New Beeb show FILMING has begun on the new series of the BBC's acclaimed comedy We Might Regret This. By Lee Getty and Kyla Harris, the show focusses on Freya (Kyla Harris) and Abe's (Darren Boyd) engagement and wedding planning. But their views on marriage day quickly hit a sticking point. Oti: We ignore judges OTI MABUSE has given away a Strictly secret that could infuriate the show's judges – including sister Motsi. The two-times Glitterball champion, who left the BBC One series in 2022, revealed the pro dancers ignore the judges' comments, and tell their celebrity partners to do the same. 9 She says: 'With the judges, I know a lot of the professionals say, 'We're listening, but we're not taking it in'. 'The goal is not what the judges think, the goal is what the celebs think.' Speaking on Mo Gilligan's podcast, Oti added: 'You really care about your partners and want to protect them, so I'm like 'Look, [the judges] are going to have their opinion, I just need you to focus on our journey.' Her next meeting with Motsi might be awkward . . . Titanic's a tonic for Noel NOEL EDMONDS has a typically niche method of ensuring his New Zealand vineyard enjoys a winning harvest – blasting out music from the Titanic soundtrack. And the veteran TV presenter enlists the help of head groundsman Jason, who is also a pianist. 9 Viewers of his Kiwi Adventure series, which continues tonight on ITV1, will see Noel towing Jason around the vineyard on a trailer while he's tinkling the ivories, playing Celine Dion's My Heart Will Go On. Explaining his idea to workers at his River Haven estate, Noel said that in a study conducted half a century ago, 'The rice field which had the music played in it, the yield increased between 25 and 60 per cent'. But with the threat of frost on his crops, he added: 'It's a strange business to be involved in. I wouldn't recommend it if you want to make money.' Handy if you fancy a tipple in the evenings, mind. Kate's Goggle shocks KATE BOTTLEY starred in five series of Gogglebox, but the vicar says the experience was like 'consensual exploitation'. Kate left the Channel 4 show in 2016 after deciding it was taking too high a toll on her family life for too little financial reward. 9 She told the Walking The Dog podcast: 'My kids spent two and a half years sitting in their bedrooms on nights they came to film. My kids didn't have friends round, couldn't have help with their homework. 'We got paid very little, but I cooked two nights a week for the crew. The money we got went on the electricity, the internet they were using and being hospitable to six people in my home two nights a week. 'It got to the point where we were overwhelmed by it.'

Rylan Clark says 'they won't listen' as he questions 'decision' by BBC bosses

Rylan Clark has presented his BBC Radio 2 show since 2019 when he replaced Zoe Ball, but he says he has pitched another idea to bosses at the radio station Rylan Clark says BBC bosses 'won't listen' as he questioned a 'decision' made by the broadcaster. The 36-year-old has been presenting his Saturday afternoon slot on BBC Radio 2 since 2019. He replaced presenter Zoe Ball when she moved to the station's coveted breakfast slot. Zoe, 54, has however since left the show and been replaced by Scott Mills. Rylan however continues to broadcast to the nation as well as fronting a series of podcasts for the BBC. ‌ He however hinted that he believes he would be perfect for another role at the station. Although he joked that his pleas to BBC bosses had so far fallen on deaf ears. ‌ He made the revelation as he flashed his geography skills at the weekend. During the bulletin, traffic presenter Sally Boazman asked: 'The A13 Stanford-Le-Hope bypass, eastbound, is partly blocked between Stanford-le-Hope and a place called Fobbing, does that exist? Is there a place called Fobbing?' 'Yeah, it's basically the Basildon turn-off,' responded Essex boy Rylan. He added: 'It's a little village on the outskirts of Corringham.' Sally responded: 'You should do the traffic really, shouldn't you?' To which Rylan joked: 'I should. I've been saying this for years but they won't listen.' Before working in radio, Rylan rose to fame when he appeared on the X Factor in 2012. He was eliminated in the quarter final as James Arthur went on to win the competition. Just weeks later however, Rylan was whisked away to the Celebrity Big Brother house. He won over the nation and was crowned the winner, ahead of reality stars Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag. ‌ He later went on to work as a reporter on This Morning as well as presenting Big Brother's Bit on the Side. Since 2018 he has commentated on the semi-finals of Eurovision alongside fellow Radio 2 star Scott. Earlier this year Rylan won a BAFTA for his documentary Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, which saw him travelling around Italy with Rob Rinder. Rylan described the show as 'two gay guys, going through a divorce' after he split from ex-husband Dan Neal in 2021, and Rob split from his own husband in 2018. ‌ Speaking to the Mirror and other press, Rylan said: "The show, it happened at a really weird time for me. I wasn't fully over some of the breakdown of my marriage and stuff like that. I was flung with a judge. It was the best therapy I needed. "The journey, and I hate that word in telly, from when we meet and how raw I was at that time. It was like being an adolescent again and starting again but with cameras there. 'Everyone who worked on the show made it look exactly how it was. They didn't try to make it look good.' The pair will return with a follow-up series, Rob and Rylan's Passage to India, which is set for release in autumn.

Rylan Clark confesses to 'secret single behaviour' as he opens up about dating

Rylan Clark has admitted he's been 'on his own' for the past few years and only been on two dates in the last two years as he opened up about his single life and candidly opened up about his personal quirks Rylan Clark has confessed that the glare of fame has dampened his dating life, as he admits to being solitary and only going on two dates in the past couple of years. The 36 year old TV and radio personality enjoys a night out at bars and clubs but hesitates to approach potential interests due to his public profile. In a candid chat with 67 year old psychotherapist Philippa Perry on his podcast 'Rylan: How to Be in Love', he shared: "I've genuinely been in a situation where I've been in a bar, and I've looked at someone across the way. ‌ "They've looked at me, I've looked at them, and I would never feel confident going up to someone because of my job. I think, 'Are they looking at me because I'm Rylan, or are they looking at me because they think, he's alright?" ‌ Since parting ways with his husband Dan Neal in 2021, the BBC Radio 2 presenter has experienced loneliness while living by himself for the first time ever, reports the Manchester Evening News. Rylan revealed: "For the past few years, I have been on my own, in the sense of living on my own, which is something I've never done in my entire life. But I have got to the point where I've got my 'SSB', my Secret Single Behaviour, where I might talk to the coffee machine in the morning and go, 'Of course you want me to empty the drip trays!'" Rylan Clark has candidly opened up about his personal quirks and love life post-divorce, revealing what he seeks in a partner. The TV personality, who split from his husband Dan, has been back on the dating scene, even embarking on blind dates in Italy with his mate Rob Rinder, 47, for their BBC Two series 'Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour'. In a frank admission, Rylan shared his unique outlook: "You know, it winds me up, but I will say it out loud. Some people might think I'm unwell. I'm not, it's my Secret Single Behaviour." He also disclosed the qualities he desires in a potential partner: "I want two things out of someone; one is that you make me laugh and don't make me cry. And the other one is when I walk into the house, or you walk into the house, you ask me or I ask you, 'How was your day?'". Fans can delve deeper into Rylan's thoughts on romance by tuning into his podcast 'Rylan: How to Be in Love', available on BBC Sounds and visually on BBC iPlayer.

Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Rylan Clark declared 'that's exactly what I need' as he addressed his love life and relationships. Rylan, 36, has been open about his divorce from ex-husband Dan Neal in 2021. The pair had been married for six years but their relationship ended after Rylan admitted he had been unfaithful. Since then, Rylan says he has been 'on his own' and has been on 'two dates' in the past two years. The BBC Radio 2 star admits he now wants to find a man who will make him 'laugh' and won't make him cry. On his new podcast, How To Be in Love, Rylan asked psychotherapist and relationship expert Phillipa Perry what love is. Philippa, who is married to the artist Grayson Perry, replied: 'There's lots of different sorts of love. 'There's the love you have with your family, the love you have with your soldiers in arms, there's the love you have for a lover, erotic love, so I suspect you're quite interested in erotic love that then, perhaps, turns into something even deeper than that and it becomes a lifelong soulmate type of love.' (Image: BBC) Rylan responded: 'Absolutely, I think that's exactly what I need.' Rylan revealed he has had enough of dating apps and regularly finds himself falling into the trap of speaking to people and not taking it further. He added: 'Nowadays it's all digital, and I find myself falling into this trap of talking to people, never meeting them.' Phillipa reassured the star it offered 'good raw material'. Speculation in recent months has swirled that Rylan could pursue a relationship with Rob Rinder, after the pair hit it off filming their Grand Tour. The BAFTA-winning show saw the pair addressing their respective divorces as they travelled around Italy. Rylan described filming the show as 'like therapy' and admitted he 'wasn't fully over' his split when making the programme. Rylan said: 'It was the best therapy I needed, put it that way. I think the journey, and I hate that word in telly but its so true, when you watch our series, that journey from when we meet to sort of how raw especially I was at that time.' (Image: Rob Rinder X/Twitter) While he has declared his 'love' for Rob, the pair have kept their relationship platonic. During a previous episode of his podcast, he joked: 'We are like a married couple, we row all the time and don't have sex like a proper married couple. We might as well put a ring on it." Speaking to former Communards musician Richard Coles, Rylan added: 'I want to find the next love of my life. I've been married, I thought I'd found the love of my life, I hadn't." The former X Factor contestant has previously spoken of the difficulties of dating while in the public eye, revealing he feels as though Rylan is a persona. In a conversation with Stephen Fry, he said: 'One thing I'm finding really difficult when it comes down to dating is that people think I'm Rylan when, in honesty, I'm Ross." Opening up further, Ross, better known by his stage name Rylan, confessed: "I need to work out, 'Do you want to date Rylan and what Rylan can give you, or do you want to date the real me?'".
