Spider-Man fans forced to wait even longer for highly anticipated sequel
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse has been delayed again, with its release now anticipated for June 2027. The film, which is the final part of a trilogy, was originally scheduled for release in March 2024. The delay is reportedly a strategic move to coincide with US summer holidays and secure a more appealing international release date. Production faced previous challenges, including reports of scrapped work and delays caused by the 2023 Hollywood strikes. The film will continue the story from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse, featuring Shameik Moore as Miles Morales and other key cast members.

When actress Hailee Steinfeld and Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen announced their engagement on November 29, fans were overjoyed—but what followed was a surprising twist involving Spider-Verse star Shameik Moore . Shameik Moore Teases a Third Miles Morales Variant in SPIDER-MAN: BEYOND THE SPIDER-VERSE — GeekTyrant
It sounds like Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse is adding another twist to the multiversal madness. Shameik Moore, the voice of Miles Morales, recently let slip that we'll be meeting yet another version of Miles when the final chapter of the Spider-Verse trilogy hits theaters. That's right, three Miles Morales variants are now in play. During a red carpet interview, Moore casually dropped: 'There's three versions of me in the next movie.' Now, before you get too tangled in speculation, here's what we know… Jharrel Jerome already voices Miles G. Morales, the Prowler of Earth-42, not Moore. So it's safe to assume this third variant will be someone completely new, and potentially voiced by someone else. Could it be Nadji Jeter, the voice behind Miles in the Spider-Man video games from Insomniac? After all, Yuri Lowenthal's Peter Parker from those games popped up in Across the Spider-Verse , so it's totally in the realm of possibility. But we don't know for sure what the creative team has planned. This little reveal might be the biggest detail we've heard in a while. News around Beyond the Spider-Verse has been scarce since delays pushed the film back to June 4, 2027, which is four years after the emotional cliffhanger in Across the Spider-Verse . That delay, by the way, came after the cast admitted they hadn't yet seen a script or recorded lines during promo for the second film. The creative team is clearly taking their time for a reason. Producer Phil Lord said at CinemaCon: 'We know how important this franchise is to so many people around us. We just could not run it back. So, we decided we needed to take the time to make sure we got it just right.' He also teased what's to come: 'It's going to be a massive finale to the trilogy. We are prepping this movie especially for your large-format screens. It looks insane.' When Beyond the Spider-Verse begins, Miles is on the run from just about every Spider-Person across the multiverse. Lord added: 'Gwen and his other friends may or may not be enough to help him save the family that's been the leading part of the entire system.' So, we've got Miles. We've got Miles G. Morales. And now a mystery third Miles. If there's one thing this trilogy has taught us, it's to expect the unexpected. June 2027 can't come soon enough.

Power Book III: Raising Kanan to End With Season 5 — But Is This the Final Chapter for the Starz Franchise?
Power Book III is gearing up for its final chapter — which may or may not mark the end of the Power franchise as we know it. Starz on Friday announced that Power Book III: Raising Kanan will conclude with Season 5. The news was revealed in conjunction with the prequel series' Season 4 finale, which introduced Shameik Moore (Wu-Tang: An American Saga) as the oft-mentioned, but never-before-seen Branford 'Breeze' Frady. More from TVLine Power Book IV: Force Ending After 3 Seasons — EP Promises 'Fulfilling' Conclusion to Tommy's Story Power Prequel Series in the Works at Starz, Will Chronicle Origins of Ghost and Tommy Rescue HI-Surf Cancellation Explained: 'We Went All-In,' Says Fox Exec, But It 'Didn't Catch On Like We Had Hoped' 'It was always my intention that Raising Kanan would run for five seasons, and thanks to my friends and partners at Starz and Lionsgate, as well as the incredible cast, crew and writing staff, I've been able to tell the entirety of the story I set out to tell way back in 2019,' executive producer Sascha Penn said in a statement provided to our sister site Deadline. 'Having said that, with the table we've set in this season finale and the inevitable introduction of Breeze, there is still an exceptionally intense and action-packed season left for the viewers to experience, and I assure you that the stakes for Kanan and the entire Thomas family have never been higher. I'm very proud of this series, and grateful that we've been able to see it through to what is an incredibly explosive and satisfying conclusion for the unbelievably loyal fans of the Power Universe.' The original Power launched on Starz in 2014, and ended with Season 6 in 2020. That was followed by three spinoffs: Power Book II: Ghost (which aired four seasons and ended in October 2024), Power Book III: Raising Kanan (which will end with Season 5; premiere date TBA) and Power Book IV: Force (which will return for its third and final season this fall; premiere date TBA). A fourth offshoot, subtitled Influence and centered on slippery politician Rashad Tate, was called off in 2022. Two years later, Starz announced that Origins — which would delve into Ghost and Tommy's backstories, and presumably follow the events of Raising Kanan — was in active development, though there have been no further updates as of press time.
