All BBC Casualty spoilers for next week as contamination ordeal is confirmed

Medical drama Casualty was off air last week due to sport, but our weekly trips to Holby ED will resume this Saturday, as episode 4 of the show's latest boxset Supply and Demand is broadcasted. Characters in the spotlight this time are Iain Dean (Michael Stevenson), Rash Masum (Neet Mohan), Jacob Masters (Charles Venn) and Ngozi Okoye (Adesuwa Oni). Iain's venture into the world of Hart continues, Ngozi battles her addiction, Rash takes a brave step and Jacob makes a discovery when his son arrives in the ED. The drama isn't stopping, so here's everything you need to know about what's ahead in the episode. Iain and Teddy's (Milo Clarke) first day on Hart requires moving a patient called Rhys from a grounded airplane into an EpiShuttle. There's been an outbreak of contagious Marburg, so Rhys needs moving from the plane and into an ambulance. It's a race against time though, as the team hit traffic and Rhys starts to panic. He claims that he has discomfort in his stomach and in his worried state, he tells Iain and Teddy that he doesn't want to die alone. Iain, still trying to ignore the phone call he received in the last episode, cannot help but be reminded of his mum in this moment. Rhys then suffers a seizure and goes into VT. Teddy and Iain know they are at risk of exposure if they treat him, but they don't have any choice. During this moment, Teddy grows convinced that Rhys does not have Marburg. As the cover of the EpiShuttle is lifted, it becomes apparent that Rhys is choking on a balloon of drugs. Tim, Iain and Teddy's boss, then radio's in and confirms Rhys definitely has Marburg. Feeling worried, Teddy reveals to Tim that PPE protocol has also been breached. Meanwhile, at the ED, Rhys' wife Pippa is cornered by the police and she reveals her partner was forced into smuggling drugs. Later, with Teddy decontaminated and Iain next, Dylan Keogh (William Beck) and the team are getting the other balloons of drugs out of Rhys. Suddenly, one splits, and Iain – who has been exposed – jumps in to start compressions. Faith Cadogan (Kirsty Mitchell) then takes blood from Iain in full PPE. She tells him that she's glad he's quite reckless, otherwise he wouldn't have taken a risk with her. Aw, romance. The stress of his day triggers an episode of AVNRT for Teddy. It's a complication of his heart condition and it causes his chest to feel tight. In the back of the ambulance, Teddy is faced with Tim. Teddy isn't keen on facing the fallout of the breach, given how he's feeling, but it makes Tim wonder if he's really got what it takes to be on Hart. In haste, and wanting to get rid of Tim, Teddy quits Hart. Just as Tim leaves, Teddy clutches his chest again but this time, things are much worse. Jacob's son Blake rushes into the ED with little Carter in tow, but focus appears to be more on Blake, who is very agitated. Rash queries whether he's had any changes in medication recently, leaving Jacob to admit that some drugs were recently purchased online. Jacob and Rash head to see Sunny (Jamie Marie Leary) in the pharmacy for answers, but she reveals that Blake's drugs won't be in stock for another 6 months. She says that unless Jacob pays for a private prescription, Blake won't get what he needs. Jacob's left deep in thought – what will he do next? As Dylan continues to support Ngozi in her addiction battle, he offers to be her sponsor. Abel and mum Dee then arrive. Abel has a tension pneumothorax but instead of supporting him, Dee insists that he needs to be more resilient. More Trending As Abel wakes up, Ngozi learns that he was given conversion therapy in an attempt to please Dee. The difficult dynamic between mother and son leaves Ngozi feeling triggered so she moves away, unable to control her emotions. Desperate for a drink, Ngozi later faces Dee again, which leaves her very close to giving into temptation. After the shift, Ngozi heads to another meeting and she finally opens up. Eventually, with the encouragement of the room and Dylan as well, Ngozi feels ready to commit to sobriety. View More » Indie's (Naomi Wakszlak) crush on Cam (Barney Walsh) intensifies as he supports her with an upcoming interview, while Rash agrees to a date with Sunny! Ottawa's most delicious street? Wellington West makes a strong case

Reviews and recommendations are unbiased and products are independently selected. Postmedia may earn an affiliate commission from purchases made through links on this page. Article content The 2.3-kilometre stretch of Wellington Street West bounded by Island Park Drive and Somerset Square is dotted with restaurants, bakeries and food businesses. For decades, this strip has been a destination for discerning, food-loving locals, if not necessarily for tourists more enamoured with downtown Ottawa. Article content Article content Article content If you're visiting Ottawa or are a resident wanting to eat well, Wellington Street West has you covered, from classic French soufflés to Montreal-style bagels to Vietnamese banh mi sandwiches. Here's a synopsis, which moves from west to east, of 20 appealing culinary options. Article content Chef-owner Jason Sawision opened his self-described 'approachable fine-dining' restaurant in 2017, and it has evolved to become a popular choice for culinary buffs interested in multi-course tasting menu-type experiences without the heftiest of price tags associated with such sophisticated meals. Here, a three-course table d'hote is $90 per person, while the five-course splurge is $110 per person. Article content Sawision's menus are always in flux, with dishes frequently being added and removed. But he has generally favoured elaborate dishes that teem with interesting flavour combinations and ingredients. Here's just one example, exemplifying Sawision's globe-trotting palate and maximalist approach: Pan-roasted ling cod with char siu glaze, crispy garlic and shallots, Parisian gnocchi, dan dan sauce, zucchini, daikon, celtuce, Brussels sprout petals, and five-spice fish jus. One constant at Stofa is the option of a signature soufflé for dessert, which can be a classic counterpoint to the innovative and even mind-boggling dishes that precede it. Article content Article content It didn't take long for Supply and Demand to become a neighbourhood favourite soon after it opened in 2013. Its immediate success even included taking fourth spot on the enRoute magazine 2013 list of best new Canadian restaurants. Chef-owner Steve Wall's impeccable small plates and house-made pasta dishes have gone on to win over diners from throughout the city to the point that items such as his tuna crudo and kale salad have become simply iconic for Ottawa's dining scene. The restaurant has landed several times on the annual Canada's 100 Best Restaurants list, most recently coming in 75th in 2024.

Why is Casualty not on tonight and when will it return?

Casualty will not air on BBC One this evening – and you can probably guess why. The medical drama's latest boxset Supply and Demand began a couple of weeks ago. The twelve-parter delves into the realities of a drug crisis as an interruption to the drug supply chain causes the ED to fall under even more pressure. We're three episodes in, but you're sadly going to have to wait another week for the next instalment. Here's everything you need to know… The continuing coverage of Wimbledon will air at 7:15pm this evening on BBC One. It will finish at 10pm, meaning there won't be a place in the schedule for Casualty. You don't have long to wait, as episode 4 of the boxset will air on July 11. Phew! Last week, Iain Dean's (Michael Stevenson) training at Hart was seriously impacted when he received an important phone call. As a result of having this on his mind, he failed a training exercise. More Trending Also, Flynn Byron (Olly Rix) clashed with Dylan Keogh (William Beck) when he expressed his opinion on addicts. Rida Amaan (Sarah Seggari) started her new job as a Band 6 nurse, and Ngozi Okoye's (Adesuwa Oni) alcohol addiction seriously impacted her shift. Casualty star Michael Stevenson reveals worrying Iain Dean twist

Iain Dean is one of the characters at the centre of the show's next mini-series (Picture: BBC) The paramedic team at Holby City Hospital in Casualty has, for many years, been a supportive and strong group. The individuals have faced challenges but the team – led by Jan Jennings (Di Botcher) – always try their best to help each other out. The structure of Team 3006 falls apart at the start of the medical drama's latest boxset, and one of the reasons why this happens is because of Jan's opinion on young paramedic Indie Jankowski (Naomi Wakszlak). Last Saturday, Indie drove an ambulance into the front of the ED due to the accelerator jamming. It's this, on top of Indie's confession about the burglary, that makes Jan view her in a different light as Supply and Demand begins this evening. Iain Dean, played by Michael Stevenson, believes that Jan should move on from Indie's mistakes. He knows exactly what it's like to end up in trouble with her and more often than not, she's forgiven him. It's the frustration Iain feels towards Jan that makes a secondment offer at Hart even more tempting. Hart stands for Hazardous Area Response Team, and involves paramedics attending dangerous environments. The paramedic team starts to fall apart (Picture: ITV) Mike, who has played Iain since 2012, recently opened up about his new storyline. He told me more about Iain's offer, and what to expect as the character takes centre stage in this new mini-series. 'The offer that comes in for Hart, it sort of side-lines him a little bit and you know as much as he is happy that he's settled now and married and all that kind of stuff, you'll never take that element away from him that he is drawn to the excitement and the thrill of danger. 'He's been with Hems before, Hems is always a good shout for him to do because of the next level up of rescue that he gets to do and stuff like that, but Hart is a whole new level. That is his first temptation away from it, but then what reinforces that is the team around him that he's spent so long building and nurturing is slowly starting to fall apart and that only gets worse as things transpire after this episode.' In a couple of weeks time, as Iain begins his training at Hart, he will receive an unexpected phone call. I'm not going to reveal the details of the call, but Michael has confirmed it will change the course of Iain's journey completely. The latest boxset is called Supply and Demand (Picture: James Pardon/BBC) 'That completely affects him for the rest of the boxset. There's more to come on that. But that phone call again, feeds his desire to move forward with the Hart team. As much as that phone call affects him and he should be dealing with it, he shuts the call out to throw himself into Hart even more so. 'It is a coping strategy, a coping mechanism, a way of hiding from what's actually happening behind closed doors. In reality, he throws himself into Hart even more so after that call.' A few years ago, Iain left Holby ED to join the team at HEMs. The decision came after he had struggled with his mental health and was in search of something new. Now, in 2025, it's possible history may repeat itself, as Iain starts to enjoy life at Hart as the paramedic team at Holby continues to face problems. 'It's a temporary thing at the moment but there's definitely potential for it to become more permanent. That excites him and is something that he would definitely be inclined to do really. The more fractured the team becomes, the more he gets a taste of a different side to being a paramedic. I think he would be inclined to take that on a more permanent basis, yes.' The paramedic is offered a secondment at Hart (Picture: BBC) 'This boxset has been one of the most physically challenging and thrilling rides I think Iain's been on', he added. 'It's nice you enjoyed the happiness and the wedding in one episode, but we're not going to let you enjoy it for long! 'It's about what comes between the paramedics. It's about the team being fractured and how they all individually cope with it, who they side with, where's the camaraderie, where's the commitment to each other, there's lots of suspicion, lots of anger and resentment. That impacts people's lives away from work, as much as that's happening in the workplace, it affects everybody outside of it too.' Michael remains a passionate cast member and is 'proud' to be part of Casualty. He notes that the Covid years did 'knock' the show back, but the team behind the scenes battled through the challenges and came out of it stronger than ever before. Iain ponders over his future (Picture: BBC) 'I have seen it through various successes and then obviously the Covid years knocked us back a little bit, but again, you come out of Covid unbelievably proud of the team that we've got. 'We've pulled our audience back. A lot of continuing drama numbers have dropped over the years and never really regained, whereas we have. I think at one point we were down to something like a million, just over a million, maybe even dipped under just after Covid. He added: 'And now we're back up to over three million a week viewers. The whole team, you look at the storylining team, the producers, the crew and everybody like that, we've done that together. The show is as strong now as what I feel it's ever been. We've had some really successful years over the past couple of years with all the BAFTAs and everything.' Follow Metro Soaps on WhatsApp and get all the latest spoilers first! Away from life at Casualty, Michael has a side hustle – a production company called Cusp Films. Their short film, called The One Note Man, stars Jason Watkins and is narrated by Ian McKellen. In 2023, the film was nominated for an Oscar. Following the success and many award wins, Michael and his team have now started focusing on other projects. 'It's not so much short films anymore! The One Note Man did what we needed it to do and we've gone forward now. TV series development is a longer game, you have to have the patience for that sort of thing. We've stepped away from the short films now. 'The success of The One Note Man got us in a few doors and now we can concentrate on developing some bigger stuff.' The new mini-series is called Supply and Demand and primarily focuses on the paramedics working at Holby City Hospital. In the first episode – which airs this Saturday – it's been three months since the ambulance crash, and Jan Jennings (Di Botcher) is still struggling to trust young paramedic Indie Jankowski (Naomi Wakszlak). For Iain, who has a great deal of experience when it comes to crashing ambulances and landing into trouble, he takes Indie under his wing and grows frustrated at Jan, believing she should move past the incident. The twelve-parter will delve into the realities of a drug crisis as an interruption to the drug supply chain causes the ED to fall under even more pressure. In this trailer, we see the moment Iain chases danger again, climbing up onto a crane for a daring rescue. As the paramedic team begins to fall apart as a result of many factors, Iain will spend time with Hart – the Hazardous Area Response Team. Star Michael Stevenson recently told me more about Iain's decision to leave Holby…albeit temporarily. 'The offer that comes in for Hart, it sort of side-lines him a little bit and you know as much as he is happy that he's settled now and married and all that kind of stuff, you'll never take that element away from him that he is drawn to the excitement and the thrill of danger.
