A woman from Uttar Pradesh's Aurangabad district has been accused of conspiring with her lover to murder her husband after luring him on the pretext of medical treatment, police said on Saturday. Talking about the case police said that the accused has been arrested and has confessed to her crimes.(HT Photo/Representational Image) According to the police cited by news agency PTI, the woman, identified as Puja, allegedly lured her husband, Bikku, on the pretext of visiting Gayaji for medical treatment. However, during their return journey, she, along with her alleged lover Kamlesh Yadav, ran him over with a Scorpio SUV near a deserted stretch of road, killing him instantly. Talking about the case, police said that the accused has been arrested and has confessed to her crimes. 'She killed her husband with the help of her lover. She has been arrested and has confessed to the crime. Efforts are underway to nab the other accused involved in the case,' said Kumar Rishiraj, SDPO of Daudnagar. In a similar incident in Telangana, a 23-year-old woman and her 35-year-old lover were arrested along with six others on Friday for murdering the woman's husband, just weeks after their wedding, police said. The victim, Ganta Tejeshwar (32), a land surveyor, went missing on June 17. His body was found on June 21 near Panyam town in Kurnool district, Andhra Pradesh. Despite marrying Tejeshwar under family pressure on May 18, Aishwarya remained involved with Tirumala and conspired with him to kill her husband. 'Aishwarya wanted to get rid of Tejeshwar so that she could marry Tirumala Rao,' the SP said. The couple had even planned to flee to Ladakh after the murder. (With Inputs from PTI)

Jogulamba Gadwal police on Thursday arrested eight people, including a newly-wed woman and her lover, in connection with the abduction and murder of 32-year-old land surveyor Ganta Tejeshwar on June 17. According to police, the murder was masterminded by V Tirumala Rao, 35, a manager at Can Fin Homes Ltd in Kurnool, and his lover Sahasra, also known as Aishwarya, 23, who was Tejeshwar's wife. The duo enlisted a gang by offering cash and other incentives to carry out the crime. All eight accused have been remanded to judicial custody, while police plan to seek further custody for crime scene reconstruction and recovery of evidence. How did they carry out the murder Tirumala Rao was in an illicit relationship with Aishwarya. After her family arranged her marriage to Tejeshwar in December 2024, Aishwarya and Tirumala Rao conspired to eliminate him. To execute the plan, Rao promised cash and quick bank deals to two men, Nagesh and Parashuramudu, who then roped in a third accomplice, Raju. Live Events The trio approached Tejeshwar pretending to be land buyers and even planted a GPS tracker on his bike to monitor his movements. On June 17, they picked him up near Krishna Reddy Bungalow in a rented car and took him to a remote location near Erravalli, where they slit his throat and strangled him. His body was later dumped in a canal near Panyam Ghat Road in Nandyal, and his mobile phones were discarded in the Krishna river. Tirumala Rao paid the gang Rs 3.5 lakh and helped coordinate the disposal of evidence. Although Aishwarya's mother Sujatha was aware of the plot, she did not participate. Rao's father, Tirupataiah, assisted him in evading arrest. Police have seized the rental car used in the crime, while two other vehicles are yet to be recovered. The accused include: Tirumala Rao, Aishwarya, three contract killers - K Nagesh, 33, Ch Parashuramudu, 30, and Ch Raju, 25 - Tirumala Rao's father Tirupataiah, 64, a retired APSP cop, Aishwarya's mother Sujatha, 50, and A Mohan, 30, a mason from Jammiched village who tracked Tejeshwar's movements. Gadwal SP T Srinivasa Rao said Tirumala Rao and the three killers were caught at the Pulluru inter-state toll plaza during a vehicle check around 5am on Thursday. Their confession led to the arrest of the others from Kurnool and Gadwal.

APSRTC MD inspects newly designed bus body

Vice-Chairman and Managing Director of AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) Ch. Dwaraka Tirumala Rao on Tuesday inspected a new City Ordinary bus body, built on an experimental design under the supervision of the zonal workshop in Vijayawada. The new city bus was brought to the APSRTC head office for inspection. Mr. Tirumala Rao examined the materials used, painting quality, seating comfort, cost of manufacturing and other key aspects. He inquired with the officials about all technical and financial aspects related to the new bus body. Taking a close look at the passenger seats, windows, steps for boarding and alighting and tyre quality to see if they were appropriately designed and met operational standards, he also gathered full technical and operational information from the works manager, engineers and staff. He then instructed the officials to conduct a feasibility study and submit a detailed report on the resources and possibilities for replicating the new manufacturing technique at other zonal workshops across the State. He congratulated the employees, supervisors and the works manager who contributed to the bus body construction. Mr. Tirumala Rao was accompanied by the corporation's Executive Director (Admin) G.V. Ravi Varma, Executive Director (Operations) A. Appalaraju, Vijayawada Zone Executive Director G. Vijayaratnam, NTR District Public Transport Officer M.Y. Danam and Chief Mechanical Engineer (Maintenance) G. Nageswara Rao along with other senior officials.
