WWE's strong Charlotte Flair-Alexa Bliss build for Evolution took one bizarre twist
After all WWE has absolutely nailed between Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair, I'm not quite sure why they hugged, even for a second, after they punched their ticket to the Women's Tag Team championship four-way match at Evolution. When the whole story is about Flair's reluctance to team with Bliss, the hug is a much bigger moment that needs to be built further toward. Maybe WWE is going to play with the length and sincerity of the hugs moving forward, but it felt premature to even bring that into the equation after their first match as a team on Raw. As creative as the finish was, it was a little odd seeing someone as locked in as Flair should be getting carried away and completely not knowing her pat on the head of Bliss tagged her partner into the match There should have been a little bit of disgust from the Queen that she made such an error and by doing so showed Bliss she needed her.

Opening segment with Cody Rhodes & Randy Orton — WWE (@WWE) Cody Rhodes opens the show with the main event of SummerSlam announced between him and John Cena for the Undisputed WWE Championship. Randy Orton joined him and asked him to promise that he would beat Cena, only to be interrupted by Drew McIntyre, who made his return after weeks of absence. McIntyre began to run both of them down and ate an RKO in the process. Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss vs. Secret Hervice vs. B-Fab & Michin The opening match was a triple-threat tag team match for a spot in the WWE Women's Tag Team title Fatal 4-Way match at Evolution. The Wyatt Sicks vs. Montez Ford, Chris Sabin, Berto & Johnny Gargano This was an eight-man tag team match on WWE SmackDown this week. It was a scene of absolute chaos with Wyatt Sicks establishing dominance over their opponents. Jacob Fatu & Jimmy Uso vs. Solo Sikoa & J.C Matteo The main event of this week's edition of Friday Night SmackDown was two sides of The Bloodline clashing against each other. The match was hard-hitting and a thrilling action to witness. As the dust settled, it was Uso and Fatu who emerged victorious. Fatu wanted to inflict more damage on Sikoa as he attempted to put him through a table. But instead, he was attacked by Tala Tonga and Tonga Loa and The Bloodline ended the show by putting Fatu through the table and standing side by side over their lifeless opponent. Will Liv Morgan Leave Judgment Day? All You Need to Know About Her Apparent Replacement
Image via WWE Liv Morgan's 2025 has been a mixed bag. On one hand, she successfully captured her 4th Tag Team Championship with Raquel Rodriguez after WrestleMania 41 and elevated her status as one of the most prominent performers on the main roster. However, her momentum has come to a big halt owing to her disastrous shoulder injury on the June 16th edition of RAW. In a match against Kairi Sane, the former world champion suffered a nasty fall with her shoulder hitting the mat awkwardly. Morgan immediately rinsed in pain and rolled out of the ring while still holding her shoulder in agony. It was later reported that she had suffered a dislocated shoulder and would require surgery and thus taking her out of action for a couple of months. However, this absence has raised a big question about her place in Judgement Day. But why? Roxanne Perez Can Very Well Be Liv Morgan's Worst Nightmare in the Judgment Day On the June 30th edition of RAW, Roxanne Perez, along with Raquel Rodriguez, held onto the Women's Tag Team titles in the absence of Morgan, with the Judgment Day voting unanimously in her favor. This move saved Rodriguez from being forced to relinquish the belts in the absence of Morgan. Although Dominik Mysterio suggested talking to Morgan about the change but Finn Balor convinced the Intercontinental champion otherwise. Moreover, it was Balor who, along with JD McDonagh, convinced RAW and SmackDown GMs to nod in favor of Perez. This change further planted seeds of Perez permanently taking Morgan's place in the stable. Moreover, this isn't the first time something like this has happened. Perez has been a constant help to the stable and has also interfered in matches involving Morgan and Rodriguez. And ever since Mysterio captured the IC title at WrestleMania, Balor has realized that Morgan and Mysterio are now the top dogs of the stable. A position Balor yearned for after banishing Damien Priest. Many expected the Irishman to cost Mysterio the title just like he did to Priest, but instead, he has effectively used Perez as a point of contention between the new stable leaders. When Morgan eventually returns, she will certainly not be happy to find out about being replaced, all thanks to Balor's behind-the-scenes scheming. After all, Morgan is the same woman who, after the departures of Priest and Rhea Ripley, had become the de facto leader of Judgment Day. In storyline, Morgan had forced her way into the faction and ultimately Mysterio's arms, so it's only natural she now fears Roxanne Perez might be doing the same. WWE has been planting seeds for a Morgan face turn for some time, and now the moment feels right. A dramatic split from Judgment Day could launch her into a fresh run as one of WWE's top babyface stars. Liv Morgan injury update: WWE Women's Tag Team Champion suffers shoulder injury
Liv Morgan injury update: WWE Women's Tag Team Champion suffers shoulder injury Show Caption Hide Caption WWE Becky Lynch, Seth Rollins greatest wrestling couple of all time After a recent Money In The Bank match, Becky Lynch felt confident no other couple in WWE could top her and Seth Rollins. A WWE champion appears to have suffered a serious injury. Liv Morgan — one half of the Women's Tag Team Champions — suffered a legitimate injury during Monday Night Raw on June 16, and she could possibly be sidelined in the future. Morgan faced Kairi Sane in a singles match at the Resch Center in Green Bay, Wisconsin. Early in the contest, Morgan approached Sane when dropped to her knees for a single-leg takedown. Morgan went face first on the mat as did her right shoulder. Morgan immediately yelled in pain and rolled out of the ring as the referee blocked Sane from performing any other move. Morgan went down and held her shoulder as medical personnel came to check on her. The match was eventually called off as Morgan was escorted out of the arena. Sane was declared winner by forfeit. What injury did Liv Morgan suffer? WWE commentator Michael Cole said Morgan suffered a dislocated shoulder. While it's unknown how it could affect a wrestler, it typically is an injury that can sideline athletes for months. What determines the timeline of return depends on the severity of the injury and if surgery happens. Without surgery, the Mayo Clinic says, the shoulder would improve "over a few weeks," but if surgery is performed, full recovery can take five to six months. Regardless, it looks to be a tough break for one of the workhorses in the women's division. Morgan is currently a record four-time WWE Women's Tag Team Champion alongside Raquel Rodriguez. The duo won the titles at Raw After WrestleMania on April 21 and they lost them to Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch one day earlier at WrestleMania 41. Recently, it had been hinted Morgan would have a storyline with current Women's World Champion Iyo Sky and WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella, who returned to programming on June 9. The two-time Women's World Champion has suffered shoulder injuries before. In 2023, she missed six months of action after she dislocated her shoulder in a match with Rhea Ripley. It was revealed to be a labrum tear and she required surgery. The biggest stories, every morning. Stay up-to-date on all the key sports developments by subscribing to USA TODAY Sports' newsletter.

Nikki Bella Turned Down Special Perk Upon WWE Return
Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella significantly returned to the company on the July 7 episode of Monday Night Raw. Her appearance created a major buzz, leading to an in-ring confrontation with Women's Tag Team Champion Liv Morgan. While the on-screen moment was a highlight of the show, new details have come out about Bella's humble attitude behind the scenes. Her fellow superstar Natalya revealed that the returning legend turned down a special perk WWE offered her. A Humble Return Behind The Scenes As a returning Hall of Famer, Nikki Bella was offered her private locker room for the show. This is a common courtesy extended to legends and top-tier talent. However, in a recent interview with the Toronto Sun, Natalya revealed that Bella declined the offer and chose to be with the rest of the women on the roster. Natalya Praises Nikki Bella's Locker Room Decision Natalya explained the situation and praised her friend's decision. She detailed how WWE was prepared to give Bella the full VIP treatment. "They wanted to get Nikki her own locker room, they were like 'We're going to get Nikki Bella her own room, she's going to have her own space, we'll put a fruit tray in there.' She goes, 'No. I don't want to change in my own locker room,' this is what I love about Nikki, she goes 'I want to change with the rest of the girls.' She's like 'I want to be in the locker room with the rest of the girls because that's the most special place to be, it's about being with the girls,' so she was in the locker room with us." She said the other women loved seeing her back in that environment. "It was so fun because she was in the locker room. The girls just loved seeing her, it was just like she was right back in the groove, she hadn't missed a beat. That's the thing that people don't see behind the scenes of what we do, it's a sisterhood. We don't all have to love each other, we don't all have to get along 24/7, but at the end of the day, we're a group of women that really love and respect each other and Nikki understood that. She didn't want her own room, she wanted to be with us, and I loved that and I made sure that she looked perfect before she went out." More WWE News: For more on WWE, head to Newsweek Sports.
