Techie kills his married girlfriend in Bengaluru, arrested
The Karnataka Police Monday said they have arrested a man for allegedly murdering a married woman with whom he had an illicit relationship. The body of the victim, Harini R, 33, a resident of Kengeri, was found with multiple stab wounds in a room at the Emara Galaxy GM Royals Oyo Lodge in Uttarahalli during the intervening night of June 6 and 7. The arrested accused has been identified as Yashas, 25, a BCA graduate and tech professional, also from Kengeri. According to the police, Yashas murdered Harini as she tried to end the relationship after her husband became suspicious of her. Enraged by her decision, Yashas allegedly brought a knife with him to the hotel room and stabbed her at least 12 times in the torso before fleeing the scene. The police traced Yashas after receiving information that he had been admitted to a hospital with a stab wound. Investigations revealed that he had inflicted the injury on himself in a bid to mislead authorities and make Harini's murder appear as a suicide attempt. He was arrested on June 8 after doctors at KIMS Hospital declared him fit for discharge. Harini was married to farmer Dasegowda H P, 41, since 2012. Police investigations revealed that Harini and Yashas met on Facebook three years ago, and their relationship reportedly turned intimate in the last six months. However, of late, Harini started avoiding Yashas and repeatedly asked him to stay away. According to the police, the two had checked into the hotel on June 6 to discuss the matter. In his complaint, Harini's husband said he had suspected her frequent phone conversations with Yashas and had informed her brother and mother. Despite being warned, Harini allegedly continued to be in touch with the accused.
