GEORGE TOWN : Police say they will not take action against a man who attacked a char koay teow seller in New Lane here over the weekend. In a viral video shot by a member of the public at about 7pm on July 5, the man appeared to be upset that the hawker was ignoring a question about which plate of the noodles was his. He then proceeded to shout at one of the two stallholders, appearing to slap one of them. One of the stallholders then threatened to call the police, with the irate man saying to go ahead, before proceeding to flip the hawker's wok. In a statement this evening, Timur Laut deputy police chief Lee Swee Sake said one of the stallholders had lodged a police report over the incident. 'After investigations, we have classified the case as no further action after the complainant forgave the suspect, who had apologised to him after the incident. 'The complainant also does not wish to pursue the case, as neither he nor his family members suffered any loss or injury,' he said.

Mom Shows How She Navigates ‘Toddler Tantrums' & It's Truly Helpful

Parents often have a hard time dealing with the tantrums of their kids. In an Instagram video from September 2024, a mother shows how she navigates her 'toddler tantrums,' stating that she remains calm whenever it happens in the car. It highlights the helpless feeling a parent goes through when their child behaves like this. However, the mom handles the situation wisely, and viewers find it truly helpful. In a viral parenting video on Instagram, a mom, Olivia J Owen, shows how she reacts when her toddler throws tantrums in the car. It begins with the child crying while the mother calmly asks him if he needs something. She explains through an in-text comment in the clip, stating that she checks 'his physical needs' first as she asks the child if he wants a snack or a drink. Then, she lets the toddler be and reminds herself 'that this is completely normal.' Owen also offers her tiny tot her hand to hold, but he seems uninterested and continues to cry. She highlights that 'tantrums are often a result of children struggling to communicate.' Furthermore, the mom explains in the parenting video that she cannot do anything at this point. She clarifies that the toddler has to remain seated in the moving car. Owen looks overwhelmed and states that her 'hands are tied' as she cannot comfort the child. After a while, the kid's mood changes when his sister joins the family in the car. They distract the toddler, which works wonders as the child smiles and looks happy. Olivia also sheds light on such situations in the post's caption. 'As long as I keep showing up with love, I know I'm doing a good job!' she wrote. Meanwhile, viewers cheered for the mom in the comments, telling her that she was doing a great job. A user said, 'Mom you're doing fantastic he'll be ok just keep doing what you're doing.' Another commented, 'Wow you are so patient! You are so calm!' Since the upload, the mom-toddler parenting video has garnered over 49K likes. Make sure to fill them up to the recommended air pressure. Get a brake inspection, especially if you hear any sound or vibration when applying the brakes. Don't forget to get the belts and hoses looked at, too. Get your battery checked. Make sure fluids—like the engine oil and coolant—are at the correct levels. Replace your wiper blades if they're worn out. Check to make sure the windshield washer reservoir doesn't have debris and has an appropriate amount of wiper fluid. Run your A/C to make sure it works. No one wants to be stuck in a hot car for hours. Make sure you have a solid emergency kit with things like first aid supplies, water, snacks, a car battery booster cable, and emergency flares.
