Coronation Street's Sally Carman reveals secrets to youthful appearance after fans were stunned to learn her real age

CORONATION Street's Sally Carman has revealed the secrets to her youthful appearance after fans were stunned by her real age. The actress - who plays Abi Webster in the ITV soap - shocked fans when she revealed she was celebrating her 50th birthday earlier this year. 3 3 3 They refused to believe she was 50 given her youthful looks but now Sally has confirmed her ageless secrets. Speaking exclusively to The Sun's TV Mag, she said: 'Oh, it's no secret - I have fillers, I have Botox, facials…. I do all of it., 'I'm really open about it. I don't think there's anything worse than someone promoting a cream saying: 'Buy this mega-bucks cream and your face will be as smooth as mine.' 'I'm like: 'Yeah, whatever.' So there's no cream - well, there is, but there are other things on top. 'I'm still marking my 50th. I've never really done birthday celebrations and I didn't want a big party because I'm not that kind of person. 'So I did lots of little things, and I'm still doing lots of little things. It's been lovely. I just feel like 50 is just going to get better and better and better. 'At 40, I had a massive crisis. I didn't like that at all. But turning 50 has really changed my mindset. I'm just thinking: 'I'm just going to hold things lightly.' 'If someone says something that's upsetting, I'm going to choose not to be upset. I'm just letting it wash over me and focus on what actually matters, you know, and that's the people around you, and those kinds of things. So far, so good.' Sally's character Abi is currently going through a crisis of her own, having her head turned by brother-in-law Carl Webster with the pair set to have a passionate affair. 'Your readers will say: 'Stay with Kevin!'' smiles Sally, who was previously best known for playing Kelly Maguire in comedy-drama Shameless. Soap star Sally Carman strips down to swimsuit on holiday with Coronation Street co-star 'He's given her a life and took a chance on her, so it's no wonder everyone's like: 'Don't you dare cheat on Kevin!' 'I mean, I feel the same! Abi loves Kevin, but Carl has awakened her feelings. She's been desperately trying to fight it because she knows what she's got to lose. 'In real life, Abi wouldn't be a friend of mine. I do like her, I think she's got great qualities - she's got a huge heart - but she's also a handful. 'And because she's emotionally immature, she gets very defensive, very upset, very hurt. I wouldn't want that in my life.' Sally has also confirmed that she wants to stay on the cobbles for as long as bosses will have her. Real-life soap couples Soaps are renowned for their sweet and scandalous romances – but it's not just in scripted storylines where love is blossoming. A number of our favourite small-screen actors have fallen for co-stars and soapland rivals when the cameras have stopped rolling. Max Parker and Kris Mochrie Despite playing brothers Luke and Lee Posner on Emmerdale, the pair never actually shared any scenes together. But the pair still fell in love after meeting on set. Max and Kris got together in 2020, moving in together later than same year and got engaged in 2022. In a sweet Instagram post, the couple confirmed they're planning a 2025 wedding. Beth Cordingly and Ian Kelsey Beth, who plays Ruby Fox-Miligan, announced her love for her co-star Ian Kelsey, who played Dean Glover, shortly after she joined Emmerdale at the beginning of 2024. 'I am very in love with Ian and very happy. I think it really does work him being an actor too. He has been so fantastic," she gushed. Laura Norton and Mark Jordan Kerry Wyatt and Daz Eden actors Laura and Mark met on the set of Emmerdale in 2014. The couple, who got engaged in 2018, told Loose Women they spent a long time deciding whether they should "just stay as friends." Although it seems they were meant to be and the pair now share two children together. Zoe Henry and Jeff Hordley Emmerdale favourites Zoe and Jeff, who play Rhonda Goskirk and Cain Dingle met at drama college in 1994 and have been together ever since. While working together might be too much for some couples, that's definitely not the case for Zoe and Jeff. Zoe previously told The Sun: "Working on the same show as Jeff also helps because if one of us is having a bad day then the other will completely understand." Lesley Dunlop and Chris Chittell Lesley and Chris are another Dales romantic success story. Unlike some of the other soap stars, the pair who play Brenda Walker and Eric Pollard, are together on and off screen, officially tying the knot in 2016. They also adore working together, but have clear home-work boundaries. "We make a point of not talking about Emmerdale when we're at home, though – that would be just too sad, wouldn't it?" Chris revealed. Sally Carman and Joe Duttine Abi Franklin and Tim Metcalfe actors Sally and Joe got together after meeting on the set of Coronation Street in 2017 and they tied the knot in July 2022. But unlike some of the Emmerdale stars, Sally and Joe prefer that their characters don't interact much. Sally previously admitted it "would be horrendous" to work on a storyline with Joe because "he's too funny." Anthony Cotton and Peter Eccleston Sean Tully may have been unlucky in love on the cobbles, but in real life Antony's met his Prince Charming. The soap star started dating long-term partner Peter in 2005, after they met when he was working as an assistant props buyer on Corrie. Jane Danson and Robert Beck Corrie favourite Jane Danson tied the knot with soap star Robert Beck in 2005. The actress, who plays Leanne Battersby, shares two children, Harry and Sam, with the former Brookside star. During their marriage, Robert has also done a stint in Weatherfield playing criminal Jimmy Dockerson. Caroline Harding and Chris Gascoyne Chris, who played pub landlord Peter Barlow, married soap star Caroline in 2002. Although she is best known as an Emmerdale star, Caroline did visit her husband at work when she did a two-episode stint as doctor on the Manchester soap in 2020. The couple share a daughter called Belle, plus two children, Pip and Freddie from Caroline's previous marriage. Nadine Mulkerrin and Rory Douglas Speed Nadine Mulkerrin, and Rory Doulas Speed are known for their Hollyoaks alter egos Cleo McQueen and Joel Dexter. The loved-up pair got engaged on a December 2018 trip to Amsterdam - just over a year after they announced they were dating. They now share two kids, Reggie and Dougie. Sophie Austin and Shayne Ward Former Hollyoaks star Sophie, whose best known for playing villain Lindsay Butterfield, was introduced to singer and ex-Corrie star Shayne through mutual friends. She gave birth to their daughter Willow in December 2016 and they welcomed a son in 2022. 'I see Corrie in my future and I'm hoping they [the show's producers] do [laughs]!' she said. 'Do you know what? If it was all to end tomorrow, I would literally be going out with the biggest thank-you, because I came in for six episodes and here I am. 'So there would be nothing but absolute gratitude. But let's hope not just yet! I'm loving it and I'm just grateful for every day.'

'Shark Tank' star Barbara Corcoran reveals secret weapons in the battle against aging

A famed entrepreneur and TV personality is getting candid about how she's keeping aging at bay. Barbara Corcoran, "Shark Tank" star and real estate investor, recently shared on Instagram a rundown of all aesthetic procedures she's undergone, from major plastic surgeries to more minor enhancements. Paired with an image of herself, Corcoran shared the list below of what she's had done. "Barbara Corcoran is joining the growing number of women who are refreshingly open about the cosmetic procedures they've chosen to maintain a youthful, vibrant appearance," Dr. Anthony Berlet, a board-certified plastic surgeon based in Manhattan, told Fox News Digital. (He has not treated Corcoran.) Given Corcoran's age, Berlet said the extent of the work is "quite reasonable" and that she "does not appear overdone." "Today's procedures can significantly refresh a face without dramatically altering someone's natural identity," he added. Dr. David Shokrian, a board-certified cosmetic surgeon and founder of Millennial Plastic Surgery in New York City, also applauded Corcoran's transparency. "Barbara Corcoran's new Instagram post candidly details the plastic surgery procedures she has undergone throughout her life to maintain her youthful appearance," Shokrian, who also has not treated Corcoran, told Fox News Digital. "She emphasizes that consistent upkeep over time is crucial to looking natural rather than waiting for drastic interventions later. Her message highlights that investing steadily in your aesthetic appearance can build confidence and preserve vitality as you age." Dr. Samuel Lin, board certified plastic surgeon and associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School, commented on the fact that Corcoran has had multiple face-lifts. "Facial rejuvenation procedures 'reset' the clock, though time keeps moving forward along with the effects of gravity," Lin, who also has not treated Corcoran, told Fox News Digital. The question of how long a face-lift lasts depends on many factors, the surgeon noted, such as skin tone and soft tissue support. "Each patient is different, though I would say the average timeframe for a face-lift duration may be seven to eight years," Lin said. Some patients may come back sooner or later depending on the areas being treated and the preference of the patient, he noted. For more Health articles, visit "More skin treatment procedures or minimally invasive treatments — such as chemical peels, laser treatments and filler treatments — are adjunctive procedures for the skin itself," Lin added.

Hotter than ever at 70! How A-listers in their golden years are defying the laws of ageing - as an expert reveals the secrets behind their youthful glows

Getting older is one of life's inevitabilities - but for A-listers with endless resources at their disposal, it's an inevitability that can be held off for a little while. Kardashian matriarch Kris Jenner, 69, has recently left fans speechless after debuting her new face and exceptionally youthful appearance - and she's not the only Hollywood star who appears to have rolled back the years. Meanwhile Oprah Winfrey, 71, Cher, 79, and Bo Derek, 68, frequently wow in red carpet appearances as they appear decades younger. Compared with stars of generations past, these A-listers appear significantly more youthful as they enter their golden years - and experts have revealed how they're looking better than ever in their seventies. Speaking to MailOnline, Dr Sabina Hanoman-Singh, a GP specialising in longevity and regenerative aesthetics, revealed how some of Hollywood's biggest names appear to defy the ageing process. 'We've all seen the photos - Kris Jenner, Cher, Bo Derek, Oprah, Goldie Hawn, and Donatella Versace looking decades younger than their birth certificates would suggest,' she said. Though fans might assume their age-defying looks are the product of fillers, Botox and other surgical enhancements, the reality isn't so straight-forward, Dr Sabina explained. Instead, she suggested it was more likely the combined effects of an entire host of techniques, such as preventative skincare regimes and biohacking. 'Is it just good genes and good lighting? Not quite. What we're seeing is a seismic shift in the way ageing is approached—especially among high-profile celebrities,' she explained. 'The biggest myth is that aesthetics is just about injectables and skincare. In reality, today's anti-ageing approach is holistic, inside-out, and science-backed. 'Celebrities are at the forefront of this shift,' she said, explaining that early access to the latest medical technology and utilising combinational therapies, were at the heart of youth enhancing methods. Celebrities aren't just working with doctors who specialise in skin and injectables—they're now tapping into expert knowledge about how 'hormones, diet, sleep, stress, and even glucose spikes influence the ageing process'. HORMONE OPTIMISATION Oprah Winfrey has famously defied the laws of ageing over the course of the last four decades since she burst onto screens when The Oprah Winfrey Show debuted in 1986. One of the reasons for her ageless face which appears unchanged by the passage of time is the use of hormone therapy, Dr Sabina suggested. 'Hormone optimisation (including HRT in menopause) isn't just about balancing mood - it can also slow ageing including collagen loss in the skin. 'Oprah Winfrey has spoken about her use of bioidentical hormone therapy and how it put a 'skip in her step'. The chat show host has previously opened up about how impacted she was by the symptoms of menopause, citing brain fog, fatigue, and mood swings. At the age of just 48, she began experiencing heart palpitations during the night, one of her first symptoms in what would become a long list of unpleasant side-effects. Desperate to improve her symptoms, Oprah started using hormone replacement therapy 'I wasn't vibrant. My whole world dulled down a couple of notches,' she said in her The Life You Want class on in 2023. 'I got my first click of estrogen, and I was like, 'The sky is bluer!' I would have been headed for depression if I had not been on estrogen,' she said. SURGICAL PROCEDURES While hormone therapies can be effective in helping to slow the ageing process, some stars have admitted to having a little nip and tuck over the years too. Kris Jenner, the world's most famous momager, previously admitted to having gone under the knife for a small handful of procedures, but sparked speculation of a fresh facelift when pictures emerged of her looking particularly youthful earlier this year. After hairstylist to the stars Chris Stapleton shared photos of Kris on his social media channels in April, fans went wild for her new look - with some even saying she looked identical to her daughter Kim, who is 25 years younger. Kris has always been open about undergoing tweakments, but has not officially confirmed the secret to her new face. Nonetheless, Kardashian fans and internet sleuths think they have cracked it - a procedure by the so-called 'facelift maestro', plastic surgeon Dr Steven M Levine. Plastic surgeons have suspected that the momager's new look was likely the result of a 'surgical facelift or mini-lift' as well as a combination of other aesthetic treatments including Botox and fillers. A doctor who specialises aesthetic procedures recently estimated Kris has already forked out upwards of $400,000 on modifying her appearance over the years. Kris underwent her first - and so far only confirmed - facelift in 2011, when she documented her experience as part of the family's long-running reality series Keeping Up With The Kardashians. She was 55 years old at the time, and going under the knife a month prior her daughter Kim's wedding to NBA star Kris Humprhies. Since then, her age-defying looks have continued to spark speculation as fans suggest she has undergone further enhancements. Plastic surgeons have proffered theories that Kris - mother and manager to daughters, Kourtney, Kim, Khloe, Kendall, and Kylie - has gone under the knife for a number of other surgeries, including cheek implants, a rhinoplasty and microblading. 'Surgical procedures have come a long way,' Dr Sabina said, explaining that this was likely the reason many have struggled to decipher exactly what Kris has had done. 'Modern facelifts are less invasive, involve smaller incisions, quicker recovery, and far more natural-looking results,' Dr Sabina said. 'The aesthetic is no longer about looking 'done'—it's about looking refreshed, radiant, and well. Kris Jenner, while she's never confirmed details, is likely to have had a lower face and neck lift, judging by her refreshed jawline.' She's not the only A-lister to have used enhancements to uphold a young face. Donatella Versace - who famously said she 'doesn't believe in a totally natural woman' - previously admitted to using Botox maintain her youthful appearance in the high-pressure role when she took over the role of Versace's Chief Creative Officer, following her brother Gianni's murder in 1997. The 70-year-old has become instantly recognisable by her gleaming forehead and plump lips, having first used fillers in her 30s. Over the years, fans have suspected a number of other treatments, including a fox eye lift, cheek implants, neck lifts and eyelid surgery. Dr Sabina suggested that Donatella's more recent looks, which are notably less over-emphasised compared to former enhancements, could be the result of 'skin tightening technologies'. She said: 'Donatella Versace, though known for dramatic changes in the past, may now be opting for skin-tightening technologies over fillers, given the recent trend against overfilled faces. 'Botox is still a staple in the celebrity toolkit, but many - particularly actors - are cautious to preserve their facial expressions. Alternatives like lasers and regenerative wrinkle treatments are increasingly being used to keep lines at bay without the 'frozen' look.' DIET AND EXERCISE A face to be reckoned with, Cher is arguably the beholder of one of the most age-defying looks of all time. The pop sensation has continued to defy the laws of ageing since she surged onto the music scene as one half of Sonny & Cher in the 60s. At 78, after six decades in the spotlight, the songstress known as the 'Goddess of Pop' has scarcely worn a wrinkle or a single grey hair. Impressively, the songstress has also maintained the svelte figure which first wowed audiences several decades ago. Cher, who was born Cheryl Sarkisian, has previously admitted to undergoing a nose job and a facelift, but several experts proffered that this is only part of the story. She has previously been open about some of the work she has had done. 'I've been upfront about saying that I had my nose done, my breasts done and had braces on my teeth. The rest is nonsense,' she said in 1988, speaking out against rumours she had undergone a rib removal surgery to slim her waist. Experts previously told MailOnline that the Believe singer may have undergone a host of other treatments including dental work, fat transfer to her face and surgery to reshape the corners of her eyes. Back in 2018, she told the Mail on Sunday: 'Yes, I've had a facelift, but who hasn't?' Beyond cosmetic procedures, her radiant appearance can also be attributed to her upkeep of healthy habits, which include abstaining from alcohol and drugs, and working out five times a week. In an interview with Today she said: 'All right. I don't drink, I don't smoke, I don't do drugs – I never have. I work out. I'm pretty good with my diet, except I like chocolate.' Upholding a good diet is also essential to maintaining a youthful appearance according to Dr Sabina, with sugar cited as particularly detrimental to the break down of collagen - which helps promote elasticity and youthfulness. 'We now know that glucose spikes and high insulin levels directly contribute to collagen breakdown,' she said. 'That's why low-sugar, low-carb diets and wearable health tech - which track how your body reacts to specific foods - are growing in popularity. Some celebs are also using supplements like NAD+ boosters, known to support cellular repair again leading to healthier organs including the skin.' According to Cher herself, it's a relaxed mindset and a shift away from trying to look younger that actually helps her stay looking youthful. Speaking to Good Morning Britain, she said: 'I don't know if not feeling old makes you younger. I keep up with the trends. I have lots of young friends. 'I have old friends too. Honestly, I'm not trying to feel young. I'm not trying to be young. I am who I am. I'm just getting along.' SKINCARE Hollywood darling Goldie Hawn may be nearing her 80s, but fans could be forgiven for thinking she's much younger thanks to her youthful glow - something she puts down to a killer skincare regime. Having become a household name in the 1980s for a string of lovable roles in film and television, the American actress puts her radiant looking appearance down to a simple but effective skincare regime. 'I don't do much. I was using coconut oil on my face for a while,' Brightside reported. 'My mom used to do lemon - she'd squeeze lemon, and she'd put it on her face.' Natural is the way forward for the 79-year-old, who in addition to a chemical-free skin routine, claims to have never dyed her hair either. 'I know it sounds strange, but I've never coloured my hair. I just put a regular rinse on it because I don't have any chemicals on it,' she said. Not only that, but she attributes her youthful glow to stress control, and rigorous efforts to prevent her skin from sun damage. 'Stress relief is also a key factor in preventing ageing including the skin. Goldie Hawn has spoken about meditation and mindfulness at length and the transformative powers it has,' Dr Sabina explained. 'Sunscreen is finally getting its due,' she said. 'Nearly all celebrities use SPF religiously, alongside actives like vitamin C, retinoids, and peptides to maintain collagen and fight pigmentation. Beyond filler and Botox, many are going back to basics to make sure they have nailed down their skincare. 'Preventative skincare has become an essential part of long-term aesthetics,' the the expert observed. Goldie always makes sure to keep her skin protected from the ageing powers of the sun by applying a daily SPF. 'I put a little sun guard on in the morning when I remember, and the rest of it is just making sure that you're hydrated and that you eat a lot of oil-based foods or oils and smile a lot,' she told the publication in answer to how she maintains her youthful visage. AGEING NATURALLY Despite being 68, Bo Derek is another from a growing list of celebrities who has maintained a visage that has made her the envy of millions of women. Having cut her teeth in acting in the movie 10 opposite Dudley Moore, Bo became an instant sex symbol. Bo has long claimed that she shuns plastic surgery because she is happy to age gracefully - and instead, her age-defying figure has been credited to a healthy diet and an active life on her ranch in California. Indeed, she has previously described lines around her face - which are minimal to say the least - as symbolic of 'a lot of fun' that she has had during her years on Earth. She has previously admitted that she's considered anti-ageing procedures from time-to-time, particularly after seeing photos of herself in which she looks 'scary'. However she claims she then reminds herself of the downsides of plastic surgery - including how people's facial expressions can sometimes change for the worse. The actress said: 'When you look at women who have had plastic surgery, they have lost something - usually an expression, something unique to their faces. 'They start to look the same. I've always admired the women who didn't do it, so I have to keep reminding myself I'm one of them and not the other. 'When I look at some photographs of myself, I think, 'Oh, I look alright.' But, in others, I scare myself; I wish I had my old skin,' admitted the Golden Globe nominee in 2009. In a magazine interview in 2008, she added: 'I think we all have this image that we're going to be the hold-out and show what [someone in their 50's] really looks like, but I could wake up tomorrow and say, 'Okay, enough of this.' 'Right now, I look at my lines and I think, 'Well, shoot! They're marks of a lot of fun.' More recently, a source told Closer that 'she's still quite the beauty and dropping jaws everywhere she goes.' The insider added: 'She's among a rare breed who refuses to succumb to cosmetic nip/tucks, and she gets very prickly at even the suggestion she's had anything 'done'. 'She just takes good care of herself, eats a mostly vegetarian diet, limits carbs, and seems happy in her marriage to John [Corbett], which accounts for a lot. 'She's a homebody who takes care of her ranch and cleans the house herself, tends to her horses and pets. That's her exercise. She also stays toned by riding her horses and swimming. Bo's the envy of every actress in Hollywood.' 'Bo Derek is known for avoiding plastic surgery but it is her healthy lifestyle which maintains her youthful appearance illustrating the importance of all these factors,' Dr Sabina said, emphasising the important of health enhancing measures to maintain a youthful look. Indeed, though most people might think celebrities are blessed with miraculous genes or are ballooned with injectables, the truth lies in a far broader 'spectrum of wellness', Dr Sabina reiterated. Moving away from chemical and surgical enhancement, celebrities are now choosing to embrace more natural options. 'When it comes to in-clinic treatments, we're seeing a shift toward regenerative aesthetics,' she said. 'The truth is they're investing in full-spectrum wellness—from hormones to hydration, mindset to microbiome. That's the real secret to staying timeless. 'Treatments like polynucleotides (famously dubbed the "salmon sperm facial"), exosomes, PRP (platelet-rich plasma), and advanced lasers help stimulate the skin's natural repair processes,' are becoming more popular, the aesthetics expert stipulated. 'Bo Derek has herself endorsed a skincare serum which contains regenerative ingredients including exosomes and growth factors. These options give more natural results with long-term benefits—exactly what many celebrities are now favouring.'

What has Nicole Kidman, 57, had done to her face? From stretched 'bat ears' to Botox and plastic surgery rumours, a look at the actress' changing face - as she reveals what her hair REALLY looks like after wig disaster

The question everyone is dying to know the answer to is what Nicole Kidman has really had done to her face? Over the years, Nicole's age-reversing appearance has sparked rumours she's had cosmetic surgery performed on her face. But the Australian actress, 57, who has continuously denied undergoing any surgery, credits healthy lifestyle choices as they secret behind her tight, youthful complexion. 'To be honest, I am completely natural', she told Marie Claire in 2007. Aside from shocking fans with her smooth, wrinkle-free appearance, Nicole has pulled off many hairstyles to make her look years younger. She recently embraced her natural-self as she displayed her natural curly locks - following a disastrous wig fail during the Cannes Film Festival. But how does she do it? MailOnline reveals the 'secrets' behind Nicole's youthful appearance. Back in 2007, the Moulin Rouge! star famously denied undergoing cosmetic surgery, saying her flawless skin was down to a healthy lifestyle (Nicole is pictured left in January 1997, and right in May 2022) Botox Despite denying cosmetic surgery rumours, Nicole isn't shy from experimenting with minor 'tweakments' here and there as she previously admitting to getting Botox. But she soon realised it wasn't for her and quickly got it dissolved, she told German magazine TV Movie in 2011. She said: 'I've tried a lot of things, but aside from sports and good nutrition, most things don't make a difference. 'I even tried Botox but I didn't like how my face looked afterwards. Now I don't use it any more and I can move my forehead again.' After the star credited a healthy lifestyle as the secret to her looks, she said: 'I wear sunscreen and I don't smoke. I take care of myself. I'm very proud to say that.' In a 2018 interview with Harper's Bazaar, Nicole said she relies on a combination of daily sunscreen, multi-tasking makeup and beauty supplements to maintain her flawless visage. 'As a fair-skinned girl, I've worn sun cream since I was a kid,' she told the publication when quizzed on why she looks so young. The Bombshell star also revealed that she is strict about taking her makeup off and double cleansing her face every night. Stretched 'bat ears' It's no secret that Nicole looks like she hasn't aged a day since her 30s thanks to her impossibly taut skin and line-free complexion (Nicole is pictured left in March 1996, and right November 2021) The Australian actress' earlobes have caused a stir online after catching the attention of fans who have declared they can't 'stop staring at them'. Some suggested that the 57-year-old's eye-catching earlobes - that appear to look 'stretched' towards her face - could've been the result of plastic surgery. According to plastic surgeon Mark Solomos, who appeared on Olivia Attwood 's ITV documentary Price of Perfection, Nicole's features are 'pixie' or 'bat ears'. But she's not the only star to appear to suffer with the issue - Tom Cruise, Katie Price and Demi Moore also might now have 'bat ears' due to rumoured cosmetic surgery. 'The effect occurs when the earlobe is pulled downward, often revealing that a facelift has been performed,' Mark told FEMAIL, adding how the issue is 'typically a result of poor surgical technique'. He also explained how 'pixie ears' are on the rise and becoming 'more commonplace' as facelifts become increasingly 'normalised and accessible'. 'Once seen as invasive and primarily for women in their 50s and older, facelifts are now more openly discussed and accepted. In fact, there is a growing trend of individuals in their 40s opting for facelifts,' added the expert. Mark continued: 'Additionally, as public awareness of cosmetic surgery grows, so does the ability to recognize signs of facelifts, particularly among celebrities. 'This shift reflects the evolving perception of cosmetic procedures as routine rather than taboo.' The expert explained what causes 'pixie ears', saying: 'In an ideal facelift, the deeper structures of the face are tightened, allowing the skin to sit naturally without excessive tension. 'If this process isn't done correctly, the earlobe can be displaced, creating the pixie ear effect. 'To prevent this, surgeons can anchor the ear in its correct position and ensure the procedure focuses on tightening the inner layers of the face rather than stretching the skin too tightly. 'However, when facelifts are performed poorly or with excessive tension, the likelihood of this complication increases.' Cosmetic surgery rumours Nicole sparked rumours she had recent cosmetic surgery performed on her face, after footage resurfaced of her shock appearance on The Graham Norton Show in 2016. The actress appeared on the long-running British talk show and shocked the host in 2024, after he cheekily compared some old publicity photos of her from the 1980s to her current look. 'You looked stunning on the cover of Dolly Magazine in 1983,' Graham quipped, as he jokingly said Nicole looked so different and more mature today. Nicole was seen cringing at her old modeling photos as she joked her modern appearance was so different, due to her new hairstyle. 'I have to say to anyone that has curly hair when you are young, keep it, don't straighten it. After awhile you don't get your curls back,' Nicole warned viewers. Fans took to social media to note how different she now looks to how she did years ago - and question whether she has had a cosmetic touch up. Comments read: 'God, she is full of it! She was a redhead with freckles and now she isn't... but she doesn't use Botox!', 'With all that Botox, I'm surprised she could move her face,' 'She can't smile naturally anymore'. Age-defying hairstyles The hair gaffe was Nicole's second mishap of the day after her hair piece appeared slightly off-centre to her natural scalp line when she sported an all-black ensemble Nicole Kidman received full fan approval as she unveiled her radical makeover at one of the biggest fashion events of the year, The Met Gala Nicole suffered a fail as she wore her hairpiece at the 2025 Kering Women In Motion Awards and Cannes Film Festival Presidential Dinner on Sunday. The Nine Perfect Strangers star wore the weave to add volume to her strawberry blonde locks and help give her a more youthful look. However, the mesh wig cap was visible as Nicole posed for photos on the red carpet despite her real hair being weaved into it. Hollywood stars often wear wigs and hair extensions to achieve a more youthful appearance as hair thins and loses volume with age. Weeks prior, Nicole unveiled a cropped, slicked-back cut and wavy fringe hairdo at the Met Gala. The Babygirl star's hairdresser Adir Abergel, one of Hollywood's most sought-after stylists, said on Instagram that the inspiration was 'a tailored short cut' – a reference to the theme of the New York event this year, 'Superfine: Tailoring Black Style'. Many fans rushed to Mr Abergel's Instagram to claim the cut is the best hair Nicole 'has ever had' – though some argued that, for most women of a similar age, such an edgy style might be hard to pull off.
