Sir David Beckham marked his 26th wedding anniversary by posting a sweet note to his wife Victoria Beckham.
The former footballer exchanged vows with the Spice Girls star at Luttrellstown Castle in Ireland on July 4, 1999 and David has now marked 26 years since their big day by thanking the singer-turned-fashion designer for giving him four "beautiful children" and helping him carve out their lives together.

In a post on social media, David shared snaps of their big day and wrote: "26 years today you said YES to me.

"Happy Anniversary and thank you for giving me our beautiful children and building the life that we have together. I love you Lady Beckham."
He also tagged the couple's three sons - Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20 - and added a mention for their 13-year-old daughter Harper.
The anniversary comes as David recovers from wrist surgery after going under the knife to fix complications from a injury he sustained in a football match more than 20 years ago.

A recent X-ray showed a screw that was used to patch up the problem at the time had embedded in his forearm after it didn't dissolve properly.
However, David has been recovering well and has even been gardening with his wife Victoria.
She shared a video of him checking out the cucumber haul from their garden and wrote: "Overperforming on the cucumber front Sir David."

In the video, David is casually dressed, with his injured arm wrapped up and encased in a sling.
A source previously told The Sun newspaper of Beckham's injury: "David has been in pain for years but thought nothing of it.
"He just kept going until, in recent months, it became quite unbearable. "A routine scan showed that the pin which was meant to have dissolved, hadn't - so he was booked in to finally resolve the issue all these years later.

"Victoria was at his bedside post op and all went well. He's in great spirits."
The couple has been celebrating since David was knighted in King Charles' Birthday Honours last month for his services to sport and charity.
The sportsman declared he felt "incredibly humbled" by the accolade.

He said in a statement: "Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour.
"To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career, and literally a boyhood dream come true."

Churchill's charming, chummy cigar

(We're joking, of course. The parsimonious Brown would never waste something as valuable as a toe on anything as trifling and insignificant as a Blair buttock.) The Diary doesn't believe the holders of great office should ever reveal their feelings to the nation. What happened to the glory days when a British politician possessed a lip as stiff as a Keanu Reeves performance? Winston Churchill's cigar showed more emotion than the mighty warrior, while Clement Attlee had a moustache instead of a personality. It's true that some great leaders have, on occasion, boo-hooed in public. The Diary Editor, for example, has been known to moisten around the tear ducts when one of his minions begs for a wage increase. Happily the Ed quickly cheers up when he rejects such an insolent proposal, and, instead, fires the ungrateful wretch. There is one occasion when emotions can be openly displayed; when oohing and aahing at Diary tales, such as the following classic yarns from our archives… Dead lucky A reader attending the100th birthday party of a friend's great grandmother asked the old lady if she was now looking forward to her 101st birthday. 'Yes,' replied the birthday gal. 'I'm encouraged by the statistic that very few people in Scotland die between their 100th and 101st birthdays.' Mag nag A reader waiting at his optician watched an old chap sitting opposite gesture at the glossy magazines on the table in front of him and tell his wife: 'If we could read them, we wouldn't have to be here, would we?' Airhead A Glasgow reader was in a West-End bar where he spotted a chap of a certain age, who should have known better, chatting up a woman many years younger than him. His patter didn't appear to be working, as our reader heard the young woman rather viciously, but perhaps not unfairly, ask the chap: 'Are you really that bald, or is your neck just blowing a bubble.' Gunning for geezer A music-loving reader was at a Glasgow gig of prog rockers Abel Ganz when a band member announced that the next track was from their album Shooting Albatross. A confused punter in the crowd shouted out: 'Who's Albert Ross?' Doggone it A reader told us a chap in the pub was complaining about his neighbour's pet pooch constantly barking in the garden and driving everyone mad. 'I'm going to kidnap that mutt,' the chap fumed, 'and put it in my garden to see how he likes it.'

'Lewis Hamilton invited me onto his private jet – he showed his true colours'

Lewis Hamilton will soon take to Silverstone as a Ferrari driver for the first time, and one of his Formula 1 rivals has a deeper insight into the British star's character after a private jet ride Lewis Hamilton will soon make his British Grand Prix debut as a Ferrari driver. Fans at his home race will laud the 40-year-old, whose true character has been made crystal clear after a private jet ride with fellow Formula 1 star Franco Colapinto. Hamilton returns to Silverstone in Scuderia red for the first time, looking to keep the momentum from a promising Austrian Grand Prix weekend. So far, the Brit and team-mate Charles Leclerc are yet to register a race win, aside from Hamilton's sprint victory at the Chinese Grand Prix. ‌ Yet, a P4 at the Red Bull Ring is a solid foundation, and Hamilton has finished on the podium at the last 11 renewals of the British GP. When he takes to the Northamptonshire track, one star who'll join him on the starting grid is Alpine's Colapinto. ‌ The young Argentine has come to the end of his five-round deal, but is all set to grace Silverstone in Alpine's second seat. He has a unique insight into ex- Mercedes star Hamilton's world, having taken up the offer of a private jet ride to London with him after the Spanish Grand Prix instead of flying EasyJet, and has shed light on the encounter. "Yeah, it was nice. Lewis is a great guy and I had the best flight of my life with him. It was very special and very unique," said Colapinto after the Austrian Grand Prix. "You all know that he was my idol since I was very young, with [Aryton] Senna as well, and to be able to fly with him and have a bit of a chat. He asked if anyone was flying to London and I said I'm going to London, but on EasyJet. "And he came back saying he had a lot of space on his plane and invited me to go. It was quite special. Also flying private for the first time, two very unique experiences and a lot of stories from Lewis. "A very special flight. He's a great guy and I was very, very impressed by how he is as a person and how he is as a professional," shared the 22-year-old. ‌ "A lot to admire from the personal part from the sportsman. It was great, a dream come true and didn't have to fly on my EasyJet flight." The seven-time F1 champion has long preferred private plane travel, and in 2013, he spent £25million on a luxury Bombardier Challenger 605 in an unmissable cheery red colourway. However, due to environmental and financial reasons, he sold the jet in 2019, and it is assumed that the jet that he and Colapinto travelled on was rented, as Hamilton often does when making his way to and from races. ‌ While a 10th British GP victory would be poetic for Hamilton as he makes his Silverstone bow with his new team, fellow F1 icon Damon Hill believes another Brit will steal the show in Lando Norris. "Nigel Mansell used to say the support of a home crowd was worth a second a lap," Hill exclusively told the Mirror. "And it definitely adds something. "If I had to stick my neck out at Silverstone, it's got to be Lando. It feels like this is his time. I'm sure he'll be desperate to win it. Ferrari have a decent record in the British Grand Prix too, so you never know."
