Soccer-Tall Paul towers back to Trabzon as Super Lig side sign Onuachu for keeps
ISTANBUL (Reuters) -Paul Onuachu is back where the goals flowed after theNigerian striker completed a 5.6 million euros ($6.60 million) move to Trabzonspor from Southampton on Friday, turning a successful loan spell into a permanent stay on Turkey's Black Sea coast.
Nicknamed 'Tall Paul' by Saints fans, the 2.01-metre forward never found his stride in the Premier League, scoring just four goals as Southampton dropped out of the top flight.
But in Turkey, he looked like his old self — hitting 15 goals in 21 league games while on loan last season and quickly winning over the fans and board alike.
Once prolific at Genk, with 73 goals in 103 league games, 31-year-old Onuachu's return to Trabzonspor feels more like a reset than a gamble.
The new Super Lig season kicks off on August 8, with champions Galatasaray defending their crown. Trabzonspor, who finished seventh last term, will hope their returning striker picks up right where he left off.

"It is beyond doubt that the driver of Car 87 did not proceed slowly back to the pit lane when he accelerated to simulate entering into the pit entry road under race conditions," the stewards said. "We looked at a previous in-lap under normal racing conditions and found that he was faster in this lap, under a red flag. To make matters worse, he lost control of the car and crashed into the barriers while at speed. Kyle Walker joins Burnley on two-year deal after Man City exit
ENGLAND right-back Kyle Walker has joined Burnley on a two-year deal after his contract with Manchester City expired in the summer, the newly promoted Premier League club said on Saturday. Former Tottenham Hotspur player Walker joined City in 2017 and has made over 200 league appearances for them. But manager Pep Guardiola revealed in January that Walker had asked to leave the club at the end of the season. Walker, who won six Premier League titles, two FA Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup with City, joined AC Milan on loan in January, where he made 11 Serie A appearances. The 35-year-old, who has earned 96 England caps, said he joined Burnley after speaking to their manager Scott Parker, who was his teammate at Spurs. Parker guided Burnley back to the English top-flight with a second-place finish in the Championship. 'When I spoke to Scott and heard about his plans for next season, it was an opportunity I jumped at. He's done an amazing job,' Walker said in a statement. The Indian wicketkeeper-batter walked in at 126-3 and immediately entertained the crowd, smashing sixes and boundaries before providing the day's most memorable moment when he lost his grip on his bat. He sent his willow flying to square leg where it landed safely, much to the amusement of the Edgbaston crowd, but not the England bowlers who had a productive first hour before their momentum was halted. Pant was unbeaten on 41 alongside skipper Shubman Gill (24 not out) at the interval, their quickfire partnership of 51 runs coming off 53 balls. Resuming on their overnight 64-1, the morning session in overcast conditions with the floodlights on began with both Karun Nair and Rahul surviving early scares when thick edges flew through gaps in the slip cordon. But Brydon Carse's persistence paid off when he tempted Nair into a drive and wicketkeeper Jamie Smith's eyes lit up when he took the catch to dismiss the Indian batter for 26.
