Watching a Georgia trooper take down a fleeing BMW that was allegedly participating in a street takeover is quite satisfying. If you've ever had to deal with the takeover crowd in person, you'd understand why.Street takeovers continue to be a problem in Georgia, which is why when Georgia troopers came across one in progress, they chased down various suspects, busting them for participating in the parking lot stunts.
While there are plenty of cars fleeing the scene, this trooper in the dashcam footage zeroes in on the BMW 3 Series and locks onto it. We think the missing rear bumper cover might have something to do with it.
After all, when fools do their little stunts in takeovers, they inevitably crash into each other or inanimate objects, and sometimes into the people watching, which can damage the car. That might involve the bumper cover getting torn off.
So there's a good chance the Bimmer driver wasn't there just watching the takeover but in fact was actively participating, doing donuts, drifting, and in general being a reckless idiot. That's why we believe the trooper locked onto the little German car.
Once he does, he pursues the BMW relentlessly and the driver quickly seems to realize he's been singled out. Instead of heading for the main road where he was originally running along with plenty of others from the takeover, he peels off from the pack.
The suspect driver speed through the parking lot, trying to use the supposedly superior handling of the Teutonic ride to ditch the trooper. Only, it doesn't work, which we chalk up in part to training trumping just equipment.
Performing a beautiful PIT maneuver, the trooper spins the Bimmer into a curb and we think it might have hit a tree, because the airbags deployed. The collision disables the car, allowing the trooper to take the people inside into custody, ending their fun little night.

Mikayla Raines, who accumulated millions of followers on social media for her work in rescuing and championing foxes and other animals, died on June 20 at her home in Faribault, Minn. She was 30. Other foxes she rescued were surrendered by owners who found it difficult to care for them. Still others were seized by authorities after having been kept illegally. ‘Rust' Crew Members Settle Civil Suit With Producers, Court Papers Show
Three crew members who worked on the Western movie 'Rust' reached a settlement this week in a lawsuit arising from the 2021 fatal shooting of a cinematographer on the film's set, according to court documents and lawyers. They were seeking compensation from the producers of the movie, including Alec Baldwin as the lead actor and co-producer. The suit accused the film's producers of negligence and failing to follow industry safety rules, allegations that the producers denied. The full terms of the settlement were not immediately available. Lawyers for the producers did not comment or were not immediately available on Saturday. The three crew members were independent contractors in New Mexico, where 'Rust,' which was released last month, was filmed on a set outside Santa Fe. One was a dolly operator responsible for building and operating the apparatus for camera movement; another was the costumer; the third managed all the nonelectric support gear. All three were on the set when Mr. Baldwin positioned an antique-style revolver for the camera on Oct. 21, 2021. Mr. Baldwin had been told that the gun was 'cold,' meaning it had no live ammunition. But as he practiced drawing the gun — in a scene in which his character was cornered by the authorities in a small church when he decides to shoot his way out — the revolver went off, discharging a live bullet, which killed Halyna Hutchins, the movie's cinematographer, and wounded the director Joel Souza. Woman hospitalized after crossing Brickell Avenue Bridge as it opened, Miami Police say; officer also injured
A woman was taken to the hospital on Saturday morning after a bridge connecting Downtown Miami and Brickell began to open while she was crossing, police said. Just before 10:45 a.m., City of Miami Police responded to a call at the Brickell Avenue Bridge regarding a woman who was reportedly injured when the bridge began to open as she crossed it. According to police, the bridge opened just as she made it to the second half of the structure. Miami Police told CBS News Miami that its officers immediately took action and rescued the woman, and she was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital to be treated for serious injuries to her legs. Miami Police added that one of the responding officers sustained a cut to their hand because there was some shattered glass at the scene and was also taken to the hospital. The circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
