‘Thin ice': Kelly Clarkson's heartbreaking personal battles revealed
The singer and TV host axed the opening night of her Studio Sessions residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace just 90 minutes before showtime last Friday, devastating fans.
Clarkson, 43, said she could not risk causing 'serious damage' to her voice, as one Vegas insider told us, 'She belts out every single note. She's an incredibly powerful singer, but it takes its toll on her vocal cords and she's come incredibly close to needing surgery before.
'She cannot risk damaging her cords further – she's on thin ice.'
Back in March, Clarkson, 43, missed 10 episodes of her NBC talk show, with her spot being filled by guest hosts – and was absent again the following month when Andy Cohen stepped in to host. Both times she cited personal matters as her reason for taking off.
Clarkson has been open about the toll her turbulent divorce from Brandon Blackstock, father of their kids, daughter River Rose, 10, and son Remy, 8, took on her.
A second insider in the know added, 'Kelly's personal life is so insanely complicated … Kelly is fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to … it's a source of emotional and therefore physical distress for her.'
Clarkson has been candid about just how much the 2020 split after seven years of marriage and the ensuing legal battle took out of her, telling Apple Music in 2023, 'Just to be brutally honest, I did not handle [the divorce] well.'
Page Six reached out to Clarkson's rep for comment.
After cancelling the first weekend, Clarkson is expected to kick off the residency this Friday.
In an emotional note, she said she wanted to create the 'most intimate and extraordinary experience' for her 'incredible fans.'
However, she noted, 'The prep and rehearsals have taken a toll on my voice.
The singer added, 'I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone.' Clarkson reassured her fans that the career-spanning show is 'incredible' and concluded, 'I can't wait to be back next weekend and show y'all what we've been working on.'
Page Six has previously revealed how the star's 'very painful' personal issues may force her to quit The Kelly Clarkson Show next year.
In May, the singer also lamented how the NBC show had held her back from going on tour, saying, 'We haven't done a show in a while, y'all, 'cause I have a talk show. It's like a whole other job.'
Page Six has also learned Clarkson's talk show contract expires after Season 7 in 2026 and she may not renew.
Last month, a source told us, 'She is a compassionate and caring person, and what has happened [recently] has helped her to move beyond the divorce.'

‘Heartbreaking': TV star reveals sad personal news after cancer battle
Olivia Munn's mother, Kim Munn, is fighting breast cancer just a year after the actress beat her own battle with the deadly disease. 'After my own breast cancer diagnosis in 2023, I urged my mother and sister to take the Breast Cancer Lifetime Risk Assessment test,' the Newsroom alum, 45, began in a post via Instagram Wednesday. 'My mother scored 26.2%. Her yearly mammogram had just come out clear but because of that high score I insisted she get an MRI. 'Shortly after that MRI, my mother was diagnosed with Stage 1 Her 2 breast cancer.' Munn shared that her mum has completed 12 rounds of chemotherapy to date and will continue transfusions for Herceptin, a targeted therapy drug used to treat breast cancer, until later in the year. 'From my mum being there after my double mastectomy to me being there after hers. From me having to find an oncologist, to my mum and I sharing one. 'I can tell you this: going through cancer is really hard,' the Your Friends & Neighbours star admitted. 'But there's something about watching a loved one go through it that is even more heartbreaking.' Munn said she has been spending 'many nights' taking care of Kim when the 'chemo became too much,' wishing she could 'fight the fight for her' instead. 'It's no small feat to realise you can't do it for them,' the Predator star pointed out. 'To anyone out there who is taking care of someone or has made it their profession to do so, thank you. 'These fights can feel near impossible without you.' Munn included in her post Wednesday a photo of her and her mum at a doctor's appointment, her husband, John Mulaney, paying a visit, a video of Kim cooking shortly after her surgery, a throwback pic, among other special moments. In a special tribute to Kim, the New Girl alum wrote, 'I want to say how proud I am of my mum. 'She's handled all of this with bravery and humour while still driving us crazy (just days after her double mastectomy she tried to do laundry and make dinner – she's insane.)' Munn also provided a series of tips for early detection, including getting a free Tyrer-Cuzick Risk Assessment test and asking doctors for a breast MRI. She added, 'My mum wanted me to tell you that she hopes by sharing her story it will help save someone's life.' The star was diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2023. She secretly underwent treatment and a double mastectomy in the months that followed before revealing her health journey in March 2024. 'I went from feeling completely fine one day, to waking up in a hospital bed after a 10-hour surgery the next,' the X-Men: Apocalypse star wrote via Instagram at the time. She thanked Mulaney, 42, for 'being there before' when she 'went into each surgery' and 'woke up, always placing framed photos of (their) little boy Malcolm so it would be the first thing (she) saw.'

New images have revealed the enormity of Will Smith's secluded 150-acre (60.7ha) estate in the San Fernando Valley. The 'Fresh Prince of Bel-Air' actor's Adobe-style mansion includes impressive sports amenities, custom-built interiors and, curiously, large symbols etched into the facade of an extension. Tucked away in the star-filled enclave of Calabasas, this compound is so large it has its own ZIP code. The Oscar winner's Pueblo Revival home was previously featured on a 2011 cover of Architectural Digest, then praised for its ambitious, bespoke design and worldly architectural inspirations. The sprawling property was an early real estate endeavour for Smith and his reportedly estranged wife Jada Pinkett Smith, according to the Daily Mail. The then-newlyweds, inspired by the desert-chic style of Gene Hackman's now-infamous Santa Fe home, commissioned the late actor's architect, Stephen Samuelson, to build their own abode in the late 1990s. An apparent extension on the home includes a curving roof and mysterious, Superman-style 'Cool S' symbols etched into the stucco walls, the Daily Mail reported. The features — a familiar sight on the notes of bored schoolchildren the world over — are perhaps a homage to the last initial of the homeowner. The sloping roof of the extension encompasses a sunbathing area with umbrellas and daybeds. Other tailor-made features of the larger-than-life property include a puppy mansion for Smith's rottweilers and a sunken trampoline. A sports complex features courts for tennis, volleyball and basketball. In addition to nine bedrooms, interiors of the 25,000-square-foot home include a meditation room, a recording studio and an entire cinema wing. The latter feature comes with a projection booth, men and women's restrooms and an 'accolades lounge,' in which moviegoers can conduct lofty discussions after the credits roll. Smith briefly listed the property for sale in 2014 for a whopping $US42 million ($A64 million), but subsequently pulled the listing. It's unclear who among the Smith clan remains at the Calabasas compound, but signs of family life are apparent in aerial shots. Jaden Smith's free vegan food truck for the homeless, launched on his 21st birthday in 2019 and bearing the name 'I Love You Restaurant,' is parked on the property. Calabasas has long been the chosen residence of Hollywood stars and music industry titans.
