Race 1 (1,200m)
(1) CASINO KING is having his first taste of the Fairview Polytrack. He does set the standard for the race.
(5) OLIVE OYL has been unlucky not to have won a race by now and should be right there in the finish once again.
(6) WALTZING DOLL makes her debut. Keep an eye on her betting.
(2) LARIUS LACUS was not beaten far in his three starts in KwaZulu-Natal and should be a threat.
Race 2 (1,200m)
Visiting trainer Justin Snaith has many decent chances on the card but (8) THE ROARING ROCK could be the best of them. He has yet to finish in the first four, but was not beaten far in some fair fields in the Western Cape, and that form usually holds up well.
(7) BLIND FAITH ran a cracker on a soft track at Kenilworth in February. Returning from a break after transferring to Juan Nel's yard.
(1) FLIGHT ENGINEER has been a disappointment in 2025 but does have a winning chance.
(3) PRINCE ANTONIO showed improvement after a stable change and should fight out the finish.
Race 3 (1,600m)
(2) PIBE DE ORO struggled in Gauteng without finding success. He was runner-up three times and could win, after a change of trainer and trying the Polytrack.
(1) GENTEEL is knocking hard at the door and should go close to winning a race of this nature.
(6) PARDON ME has improved of late and should fight out the finish.
(3) GLOBAL DRUMBEAT does seem better than his last run, albeit he lacks a strong kick.
Race 4 (1,600m)
(8) TAKE YOUR TIME has improved of late and is hinting at another win. Her trainer has her in good form and she gets a narrow vote to score.
(7) ICE CAP has got close to winning a couple of times lately and has a winning chance.
(5) LADY LUCK is in good form and clearly not out of it.
(10) COLORAMA also has to be included in the exotics.
Race 5 (1,600m)
(5) ROYAL CITY GIRL was well beaten last time. But the runner-up has won impressively since then, so she must have a winning chance.
(8) ARIVIDICIO is consistent and needs to be included in all combination bets.
(2) GREEN OKRA was a very easy maiden winner last week and can follow up going a bit further.
(3) JAMBO SANA has only been modest of late, but could like this extra distance and would not be a surprise winner.
Race 6 (2,000m)
Trainer Alan Greeff seems to have found the key to (2) MR FOX. He has been a very easy winner in his last two starts. A six-point penalty for his maiden win was followed up by a eight-point penalty for his impressive turf win. He can win again in a tougher field.
(4) SLAINTE MHATH has been inconsistent but is not out of it.
(8) RED WILLIAM is capable of making the frame when in the right mood.
(1) HAROLD THE DUKE has lost his way of late but he has been in far stronger fields than this. He also ran well on this surface.
Race 7 (1,400m)
(1) MERCANTOUR is another horse that has thrived for Greeff. He was very impressive on this surface last time and can follow up.
(2) SILVER FALCON has won twice on this surface and can threaten.
(5) USA'S HOPE has done well on this surface of late and should contest the finish.
(3) BUSH TRACKER has won four times on this surface and has a place chance.
Race 8 (1,100m)
(5) PRISCILLA MAISEY ran well above her rating last time and can win if she repeats that run.
(2) ARTICUNO has been unlucky not to have won any of his last five starts and deserves a winning turn.
(3) LE PREMIERE makes her local debut and can surprise.
(8) ENCHANTING LADY is in good form and is yet another in with a winning chance.

Actor Keanu Reeves in driver's seat for new Cadillac documentary series

Find out what's new on ST website and app. Keanu Reeves is to present a multi-episode production that will focus on the team's development of staff, cars and race team through a two-year process. SILVERSTONE, United Kingdom – Hot on the heels of American actor Brad Pitt's recent film F1: The Movie, another Hollywood star is set to front a behind-the-scenes series on Cadillac's journey to join the Formula One grid in 2026. Canadian actor Keanu Reeves, a motorsport fan, is to present a multi-episode production that will focus on the team's development of staff, cars and race team through a two-year process. Cadillac was confirmed as the sport's 11th team for 2026 in March. Reeves, 60, presented the Emmy-winning 2023 documentary on former Formula One director Ross Brawn's eponymous team's success in beating the odds to win the title in 2009. The star of Hollywood action film franchises such as John Wick (2014 to present) and The Matrix (1999 to 2021) said he felt honoured and excited to tell the Cadillac story and 'bring audiences into the heart of this journey and to showcase what it takes to participate in one of the most exclusive sports arenas in the world'. Reeves, who has an extensive collection of motorcycles and has taken part in a professional car race, the Toyota GR Cup, in Indianapolis, US, is not expected to follow Pitt's example and sample the thrill of driving an F1 car. Pitt, 61, who reached a top speed of 317kmh in a test in Austin, Texas, in June, said recently that he wanted to 'go back... I want to hit 322kmh '. Top stories Swipe. Select. Stay informed. July 12 South Africa (Turffontein) form analysis

Race 1 (1,600m) (1) DAISY JONES confirmed the promise of her debut fourth over 1,500m by finishing second over 1,400m in her last start and this extended trip should unlock further progress. (2) MATCHA MINT would not be winning out of turn after three consecutive seconds, including back-to-back runner-up finishes over 1,600m. (3) REJUVENATE is closely matched with that rival, so she should play a leading role too. (6) STAMPEDE AHEAD has also shown enough to have a say in the outcome. Race 2 (1,160m) (9) SURPRISE PARTY did not go unnoticed on debut over this track and trip, despite showings signs of her inexperience. Newcomers (7) HEAVENLY GOOD, (4) COMIC ARTIST and (3) BABETTE'S FEAST are worth a market check. (1) CYBER SPIRIT has the form and experience to acquit herself competitively but is vulnerable to less-exposed rivals. Fellow 3YO filly (2) ICONIC WINTER would have benefited from a recent comeback and should have more to offer, especially on the evidence of her course-and-distance debut. Race 3 (1,160m) Well-bred newcomers (4) ECHO CHECK, (5) ECHOES OF WAR, (3) BEST CANDIDATE will not need to be special to play leading roles on debut. The same applies to (10) ONCEINABLUEMOON, who is not underestimated under bottom weight. Returning (1) AMANDLA NGAWETHU and Highveld newcomer (2) MONKEY PUZZLE are experienced older geldings vulnerable under top weight. (9) LANNYBOY would have come on from his course-and-distance debut fourth and ought to acquit himself competitively. Race 4 (1,160m) Unexposed (2) MISS ARGONAUT defied a market drift when winning at this level on her Highveld debut. She remains open to further progress and should have a bright future in the province. (1) ONE FELL SWOOP sets a good standard and boasts both the form and experience over track and trip to trouble the selection. (6) BLIZZARD SNOW and (4) KOMATI RIVER also have the means to get involved. Race 5 (1,160m) Last-start winner (8) BLINDFIRE, (7) GOLDEN ASPEN and (3) LADY OF MEMPHIS will be competitive if building on improved recent efforts. (2) VALIEVA was supported last time and had legitimate excuses for that disappointing performance, so she cannot be overlooked. (1) WE WILL ROCK YOU is out of sorts but dangerous to discount off a career-low mark and over this shorter trip under a 1.5kg-claiming apprentice. Race 6 (2,000m) (1) MOLOTOV COCKTAIL confirmed the promise of his fast-finishing debut fifth over 1,400m by winning from the front over 1,600m in his only subsequent appearance. This extended trip should be more to his liking, so it could pay to follow his progress. Well-bred class-dropper (3) DUAL PROPHECY caught the eye over track and trip last time and in his peak outing should pose a threat to the selection. (4) VOLTE FACE is another with earning potential. (5) FLAG BEARER and (9) GAMER are honest hard-knockers with the form and experience to make their presence felt too. Race 7 (1,600m) Course-and-distance specialist (9) JURY'S OUT would have tightened up after a much-needed comeback run over 1,160m and will likely fare better over this trip. (2) BACCHUS, (7) PRESLEY and (5) COMMAND PILOT are better than recent performances suggest and can take home a cheque. (1) WECANGOALLNIGHT acquitted himself competitively under 50kg in a stronger race over track and trip recently. He should have a role to play if reproducing that effort off an unchanged under 60kg. Race 8 (1,600m) Stablemates (3) BIRTHRIGHT and (7) THE PLAYBOY BOMBER are undefeated over track and trip. The latter overcame a wide draw when winning over course and distance last time in impressive fashion and is all set for another forward showing. However, preference is for the consistent former, who caught the eye with a fast-finishing fourth over 1,450m on the Inside track last month and will prefer the Standside track. (5) KING OF NUMBERS and (9) EIFFEL TOWER should be competitive for the places.
