In the first half of GWS' rousing comeback victory over the arch-rival Swans, Greene drove his forearm into Heeney while the Sydney star was already on the ground being tackled.

As reported first by Herald Sun chief football writer Jay Clark, Greene was hit with a one-match suspension by the Match Review Officer, with the act judged as intentional conduct, high contact and low impact.
The Giants have the option to chellenge the MRO's verdict at the tribunal.

The suspension comes ahead of a crucial finals-shaping Thursday night fixture for the Giants against the Western Bulldogs.
With the Giants and Bulldogs both winning on Friday night, eight premiership points still separates the clubs, with the Dogs in a must-win position ahead of the clash at Marvel Stadium in Round 21.

Brisbane Lions legend Jonathan Brown put Greene's 'undisciplined' act down to being 'too amped up' to start the match.
'Yeah, it is late. So, you can understand some sort of fine,' he said on Fox Footy on Friday night.
'He was just a bit fired up, he was a bit hot under the collar — maybe a bit amped up too much in the first half, and that just showed out in some of the undisciplined nature of the acts in the first half.'
Fellow Lions great Alastair Lynch added: 'I think that's where Adam Kingsley's coming from — he didn't make the right impact in that first half and (needed) a bit of a reset. I don't think the Isaac Heeney one's a good look.'

Man who died in motorsport crash identified as Darren Barlow
A man who died during a motorsports competition in Sydney's west has been identified as Darren Barlow. Emergency services were called to a motorsports park on Ferrers Rd in Eastern Creek shortly after 8pm on Saturday night following reports a vehicle had crashed during a sanctioned race event. Paramedics treated the driver, however the 53-year-old died at the scene. Mr Barlow was identified as the driver, and was racing a Stohr WF1 when he crashed, 9 NEWS reported. RX8 Cup manager Ric Shaw told the outlet he'd stood up at the end of the race to go speak with Mr Barlow. 'Unfortunately I couldn't see him. I couldn't speak to him again,' Mr Shaw said, getting choked up. Mr Barlow was Motorsport Australia's NSW state council chair between 2023 and 2025. He took out two wins at the same motorsports park back in 2019, where he told Motorsport Australia he loved to compete. 'From a competitor's point of view, I really enjoy racing in the championships too because of the quality of the entrants competing and I suppose this round I was lucky enough to win after some good battles with Alex Kenny,' Mr Barlow said. Motorsport Australia said they had been notified of a fatal incident during a state championship event on Saturday night. 'We extend our condolences to the family and friends of the competitor, and to the officials and first responders at the scene,' Motorsport Australia said in a statement.

SUBSCRIBE NOW! FIVE TO FOLLOW KOIBITO (race 1, 4th) The winner Nashville Jack is a horse you will see in better races but this filly did a terrific job on debut, doing her best work late. She might be a prep away but has potential. SO YOU ARE (race 3, 2nd) This lightly-raced son of So You Think is still learning his craft and hit the line nicely over 1800m in the Highway. He will come into his own over 2000m plus. GLORIOUS MOMENTS (race 4, 1st) It was only a Benchmark 72 but it's easy to see the son of Brutal landing in better races soon. He's got stakes quality and will go through his grades quickly. SLINKY (race 7, 3rd) Put a line through her run two starts ago when she landed too close, she produced a far better run ridden cold. If she finds herself in a race with speed on next start she's worth backing. TRAVOLTA (race 10, 1st) He's won two of his three starts this preparation and can steadily go through his grades in his second preparation in Australia. Back him with confidence if the track is wet. STEWARDS SAY Open Secret (race 1): Did not feel comfortable on the soft track. Was found to be coughing post-race and will undergo further veterinary checks, including an endoscopic examination. Forecaster (race 2): Apprentice William Stanley was fined $500 for striking the gelding nine times before the 100m, four more than permitted. In Summer (race 3): Jockey Jason Collett felt the prevailing racing surface hampered her ability to close off as expected. Ruby Flyer (race 5): Did not travel comfortably on the soft track and failed to fire. Was found to be slow to recover post-race. Storm The Ramparts (race 8): A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was slow to recover and lost his off-fore plate. He will be spelled. The Black Cloud (race 8): Did not let down under pressure and weakened in the straight. Another horse that was slow to recover post-race. Kazalark (race 10): Late scratching at 9.55am on vets advice after being found lame in the off-foreleg. CRUNCH TIME Nashville Jack (race 1): Surged home along the inside to finish his last 600m in 36.09 seconds. Wisnierska (36.08) and Koibito (36.03) both got home well in behind. Investment (race 6): She was last at one stage but relished the conditions as she was a race best split for every furlong from the 1000m to the finish. Her last 600m of 38.90 seconds was a clear best. Cigar Flick (race 8): Only had a couple of runners behind her in the run before doing her best work down the outside to finish her last 600m in 35.45 seconds. Her last 200m of 12.45 was the best of the race. Regimental Colours (race 9): Showed a terrific finishing burst, running the best final three furlongs of the race to win with splits of 11.62, 11.71 and 12.61 seconds. Her last 600m totally 35.94. 'I was actually watching the race with Charlie (Duckworth) and said 'I don't know what this Tommy is doing, we said we were going to come through them and have the last crack at them'. Footy fans demand answers over questionable Richmond free kick
Footy fans have been left asking for a please explain over a questionable free kick that unfolded at the MCG on Sunday. Halfway through the second quarter Richmond were surging forward against Collingwood when Jonty Faull launched one to the 50m arc. Collingwood's Harry Perryman found himself right in the perfect spot for the drop of the ball with Tigers forward Steely Green surging in from a distance. Perryman set himself up to protect the space as Green attempted to launch over the top for a mark of the year contender. In the end Green soared high onto the shoulder of Perryman and got two hands on the ball before fumbling and crashing to the turf and landing square on his back. The umpire's whistle blew almost instantly with the Tigers forward being awarded the free kick for being blocked out. Perryman was left fuming over the free kick and the Magpies star wasn't the only one annoyed by the whistle. Geelong legend Tom Hawkins couldn't quite understand how Perryman had been penalised on Fox Footy. 'What do you do? He's trying to protect the space … I'm with the Collingwood faithful here,' Hawkins said. The Age's Peter Ryan wrote on X: 'That free kick against Harry Perryman for god knows what to Steely Green who was flying for a mark is beyond me. It's worth watching as I'm not sure I understand the game's rules from week to week any longer.' Lenny Phillips wrote: 'Did steely green just get a free for trying to take a cool mark in the wet?' Another irate fan added: 'The imbecile masquerading as an umpire who just paid that mark to Steely Green shouldn't umpire a senior AFL game again.' Of course not everybody watching on was left angry over the decision with many quick to back the umpire's call. One wrote on Instagram: 'He took his eyes off the ball this isn't complicated.' A second added: 'Clear free kick. Not sure why anyone is complaining.' A third posted: 'He took his eyes off the ball to block him intentionally, obvious free kick, if he was guarding the space to purely mark the ball then it should be play on.' Despite the contentious moment, it mattered little to the end result with Collingwood storming clear to secure the 13.15 (93) to 8.9 (57) victory. The clash saw Nick Daicos deliver his latest masterclass with the superstar moving a step closing to making his Brownlow Medal dreams a reality. He is likely to have earned another three votes from the umpires as he finished with 42 disposals and an equal career-high three goals against the inexperienced Tigers. He was a class above anyone else on the field and the signs were ominous from the opening minutes when the realisation set in there was no direct tag from Richmond coach Adem Yze. 'I put a bit of grippo on and the ball didn't leave my hand after that,' Daicos told Fox Footy post-match when asked about his cleanliness in the wet conditions. His third goal was the pick of the lot as Daicos ran towards his boundary and kicked truly on his left foot. It was the third time in his 89-game career he's had more than 30 touches and kicked three goals.
