UNRWA: 200-mln-dollar shortage threatens all our operations
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) revealed that it is experiencing an extremely serious financial crisis, suffering a deficit estimated at approximately $200 million, threatening its ability to continue until the end of the current year.
According to UNRWA's official website, the agency's media advisor, Adnan Abu Hasna, explained in a press statement on Monday that the crisis is not limited to the Gaza Strip or the West Bank, but rather extends to all of UNRWA's areas of operation, including Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, and East Quds. He noted that the financial situation is extremely critical.
He called on the international community to take action to support the agency, noting that this is not the sole responsibility of UNRWA, but rather the responsibility of the member states of the United Nations General Assembly.
He added that "UNRWA is not a company and does not receive its funding from taxes, as governments do." Rather, approximately 90% of its budget depends on donations, and the only alternative is to support the agency.
Abu Hasna had previously sounded the alarm when he stated that UNRWA's available funding is sufficient until the end of June, calling on the Arab world to take action to financially support the agency.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) is funded almost entirely by voluntary contributions from UN member states.
The Agency's services include education, health care, relief, infrastructure, camp improvement, community support, microfinance, and emergency response, including in times of armed conflict.

Fatah al-Intifada: Enemy's Escalation of Massacres in Gaza Will Only Strengthen Resistance's Resolve
Gaza – SABA: The Fatah al-Intifada Movement stated Thursday evening that the Arab and international silence regarding the massacres and genocidal war carried out by the Israeli enemy in the Gaza Strip is a betrayal of all divine laws and humanitarian principles. In a press statement cited by the Palestinian Safa News Agency, the movement stressed that this silence only deepens the wounds of the Palestinian people, 'who confront the killing machine with unshaken dignity.' It added that the massacres committed in Gaza are further evidence of the criminal nature inherent in the behavior of the Israeli occupation army. 'The Zionist aggression on Gaza marks the collapse of what is called the international community, which continues to turn a blind eye to the genocide,' the statement continued. The movement affirmed that the enemy's intensification of massacres will not compensate for its losses in the field and will only make the resistance more determined and unyielding in its response. Two vigils in Jabal Ma'oud, mass in Ibb in support of Gaza, blessing of Iran's victory
Ibb - Saba: The Jabal Ma'ud district in the Ibb countryside directorate and the Qadas district in the Al-Udayn directorate witnessed two tribal stands in solidarity with Gaza and in support of Iran's victory over the Zionist entity. The participants expressed their continued support for the Palestinian people and their resistance, denouncing the ongoing crimes of genocide and the siege imposed on Gaza for nearly a year and eight months. They also condemned the Arab and Islamic silence, considering it to have encouraged the Zionist enemy to commit more massacres. The statement issued by the two stands warned against communicating with enemies, called on the security services to deal firmly with traitors, and renewed the full mandate of the Leader to take whatever he deems appropriate, stressing that their position towards Gaza is an irreversible religious and humanitarian one. Gaza's Awqaf Ministry: Graves exhausted across most of Strip
Gaza – SABA: The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Gaza announced on Wednesday evening that graves have been completely depleted across most areas of the Strip, as the Israeli aggression continues and the number of martyrs rises. The ministry stated that the tragic reality has forced families to use hospital courtyards, schools, and residential areas as emergency burial sites. In a statement, the ministry reported that since October 2023, the enemy has completely or partially destroyed over 40 cemeteries and prevented civilians from accessing many graveyards located within its military-controlled zones. This has led to the exhaustion of existing burial grounds and a severe shortage of available space. The ministry emphasized that the ongoing siege and the blockade on funeral shrouds, construction materials, and essential burial supplies have deprived martyrs of their right to a proper Islamic burial. It further noted that the enemy's forced evacuation and displacement orders toward the so-called "Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone" have reduced available burial space, resulting in the piling up of martyrs' bodies in hospitals, which are already overwhelmed by the rising death toll. The ministry appealed to Arab and Islamic nations, relief organizations, and charitable donors to join the "Dignity for Martyrs" campaign, which aims to build dignified, cost-free graves and provide essential burial supplies as an urgent humanitarian and religious priority. Since the start of Israel's aggression on Gaza in October 2023, the population has faced catastrophic and worsening humanitarian conditions. With the death toll reaching tens of thousands, the burial crisis has become one of the most unprecedented challenges for Gaza's society—especially amid the direct targeting of cemeteries, restricted access to burial sites, and the lack of essential burial materials.
