Gaza's Awqaf Ministry: Graves exhausted across most of Strip

Saba Yemena day ago
Gaza – SABA:
The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs in Gaza announced on Wednesday evening that graves have been completely depleted across most areas of the Strip, as the Israeli aggression continues and the number of martyrs rises. The ministry stated that the tragic reality has forced families to use hospital courtyards, schools, and residential areas as emergency burial sites.
In a statement, the ministry reported that since October 2023, the enemy has completely or partially destroyed over 40 cemeteries and prevented civilians from accessing many graveyards located within its military-controlled zones. This has led to the exhaustion of existing burial grounds and a severe shortage of available space.
The ministry emphasized that the ongoing siege and the blockade on funeral shrouds, construction materials, and essential burial supplies have deprived martyrs of their right to a proper Islamic burial.
It further noted that the enemy's forced evacuation and displacement orders toward the so-called "Al-Mawasi humanitarian zone" have reduced available burial space, resulting in the piling up of martyrs' bodies in hospitals, which are already overwhelmed by the rising death toll.
The ministry appealed to Arab and Islamic nations, relief organizations, and charitable donors to join the "Dignity for Martyrs" campaign, which aims to build dignified, cost-free graves and provide essential burial supplies as an urgent humanitarian and religious priority.
Since the start of Israel's aggression on Gaza in October 2023, the population has faced catastrophic and worsening humanitarian conditions. With the death toll reaching tens of thousands, the burial crisis has become one of the most unprecedented challenges for Gaza's society—especially amid the direct targeting of cemeteries, restricted access to burial sites, and the lack of essential burial materials.

Majdalani: Israeli statements calling for annexing West Bank, imposing sovereignty represent dangerous escalation, challenge to international community

Ramallah - Saba: Ahmed Majdalani, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) and Secretary-General of the Palestinian Popular Struggle Front (PPSF), considered the statements issued by the fascist Israeli occupation government regarding the annexation of the West Bank, the imposition of sovereignty, and the application of law therein to be a dangerous escalation and inconsistent with international legitimacy resolutions and international law. During a meeting of members of the PFLP's Central Committee, Majdalani said that the occupation government is working seriously and within clear decisions to implement this decision. All of the occupation's measures in the West Bank have effectively become de facto annexation measures, including colonization, the installation of iron gates, and the dismemberment of cities and villages in the West Bank. Hamas: "Settler mobs & zionist enemy forces Plpersist in violating Al-Aqsa's sanctity

Doha – Saba: The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) stated on Thursday that the ongoing daily incursions by Zionist settler mobs into the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, along with their provocative Talmudic rituals under the protection of Zionist enemy forces, constitute a blatant violation of the mosque's sanctity. In a statement received by the Yemeni News Agency (SABA), Hamas emphasized that the Zionist enemy and its settlers are attempting, through these actions, to impose a temporal and spatial division of Al-Aqsa Mosque as part of a systematic Zionist plan aimed at erasing its identity and Judaizing it. The movement called on the Palestinian people in Al-Quds, the West Bank, and the occupied interior to intensify their presence in Al-Aqsa Mosque and confront these incursions. It also renewed its appeal to Arab and Islamic nations, as well as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), urging them to take immediate action and practical steps to halt this Zionist aggression targeting the identity of Al-Aqsa Mosque , other Islamic and Christian holy sites.
