Who Plays Agnes In ‘The Summer I Turned Pretty?' Why Zoé De Grand Maison Looks So Familiar
Spoilers ahead for Episodes 1 and 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3.
The Summer I Turned Pretty is back for its bittersweet third and final season. The first two episodes are now streaming, with new episodes dropping weekly on Prime Video. Following the premiere, it's time to unpack one of the new characters introduced this season: Agnes.
The third season picks up with Jeremiah and Belly, who are still together and attending Finch College. Belly is heading into the summer before her senior year, while Jeremiah was on track to graduate — but after messing up his credits, he now has to take fall classes as a super senior.
Their relationship has been rocky to say the least, with Jeremiah cheating on her in Cabo, Belly hiding that she spent Christmas with Conrad and the usual college drama. Meanwhile, Conrad is off studying to become a doctor and has a new friend of his own to keep him company.
In the show, Agnes is introduced as one of Conrad's pre-med friends at Stanford, and she appears to be a steady presence in his life. She's also a character in Jenny Han's book, We'll Always Have Summer, but her role is much smaller compared to her on-screen counterpart. So, who is Agnes, and will she and Conrad develop a romantic relationship?
Here's what to know about Agnes and Conrad so far, including the actress who plays her and where you might have seen her before.
Who Is Agnes In The Summer I Turned Pretty Season 3?
In Season 3, Episode 1, we meet Agnes, one of Conrad's close pre-med friends at Stanford. She's accepted into the same summer clinic residency as him, and she appears to be not only a great friend and confidant to the Fisher brother, but also a potential future love interest.
According to Decider, Agnes is portrayed somewhat differently in the series than in Jenny Han's third book. Not only is her appearance different — in the text, Conrad describes Agnes as having wavy, chin-length dirty-blond hair, glasses, and skin as pale as milk — but the nature of their relationship is different as well. In the book, Agnes asks Conrad out and they have a fling.

However, in the show, their dynamic seems more like close friendship than casual hooking up. In the first episode, we learn that maybe Agnes wanted more, but shes mentions that Conrad was clear from the get go that he wasn't interested in a relationship. She then asks if he's ever been in love, and he tells her only once: Belly.
In Episode 2, Conrad is let go from the summer clinic after Dr. Namazy fires him for mislabeling a blood sample. She had previously offered him the day off after learning that Steven was in a serious accident, but he declined. Dr. Namazy tells him he's not ready and lets him go. Later, Agnes visits him at home and talks to him about how he processes and carries his emotions, hinting that she may have a larger role in future episodes than she did in the book.

'The Summer I Turned Pretty' Filming Locations As Fans Search For Cousins Beach
The third and final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty officially began streaming on July 16. The Prime Video series, based on the books by Jenny Han (To All the Boys I've Loved Before), has quickly become a fan favorite. The series follows Isabel 'Belly' Conklin (Lola Tung) as she's caught between two crushes: her childhood friend Conrad (Christopher Briney) and his younger brother Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno). There's also growth and drama in their family dynamics, but the heart of the series is the love story that takes place on Cousins Beach, where Belly's family visits every year. Here's where they made that atmosphere come to life. The two families vacation every year at Cousins Beach, but sadly, it turns out that the beach does not actually exist. Han told Prime Video that she 'had a lot of beaches in [her] head' as she was forming Belly's story. 'I think that's part of the reason why people can read the book and feel like [Cousins Beach] is their beach,' she said. In another interview with Today, she said that Cousins Beach was inspired by Cape Cod, Martha's Vineyard, the Hamptons, and Nags Head. Nags Head is in North Carolina, and that's where the show was eventually filmed—more specifically, the town of Wilmington. Other shows filmed in Wilmington, NC include Netflix's The Waterfront and the classic dramas One Tree Hill and Dawson's Creek. The Fisher family's house is located in a Wilmington gated community called Porters Neck Plantation. That's where many of the house's exterior shots were filmed. '[The house] had to have that cedar shake on it because [Han] wanted that Cape Cod Northeast look,' the location manager, Lindsay Fort, told People. As for the interior of the house, those scenes took place on sound stages in Wilmington, but the attention to detail is all the same. 'Our character Susannah [Conrad and Jeremiah's mom] loves to garden, and there are always fresh flowers throughout the house,' the production designer for season 1, Teresa Mastropierro, told House Beautiful. 'Our greens department literally transformed the landscape around the house. I think we bought every last hydrangea plant in the state.' In addition to Wilmington, scenes were filmed in other North Carolina locations like Southport, Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, Old River Farms, Porters Neck Country Club, Fort Fisher, and Wrightsville Beach, per People. The latter is where Belly and Jeremiah took the path from the house to the beach in season 1. 'That's the one with the seashells hanging in it,' Fort, told People about Wrightsville Beach. 'It has that really pretty romantic vibe that they run down that path.' College scenes were filmed at Han's alma mater, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 'Filming at my old dorm, Old East, was definitely emotional,' Han told UNC. 'I was in the first class of women who were allowed to live there. I would lay out in the grass and listen to music and look up at the stars. It felt very romantic and nostalgic to come back and be able to shoot my show here.' Soap star Alan Fletcher says Neighbours is finishing ‘at its peak'
Actor Alan Fletcher said Neighbours is coming to an end while the Australian soap is 'at its peak'. The programme had its final day of filming earlier this month after its two-year Prime Video revival which followed it being dropped from broadcast by Channel 5 in 2022. Fletcher, 68, who has played Dr Karl Kennedy for 30 years, said it is 'fair to say' he is now more famous in the UK than Australia due to the popularity of the show here. He told ITV's Good Morning Britain (GMB): 'It's extremely popular. It sits in the top five programmes (on Amazon). View this post on Instagram A post shared by Neighbours (@neighbours) 'Amazon gave us an extra 400 episodes, and we are eternally grateful. 'I have to say to you, when we finished filming, rather than the sadness we had the first time, I sat back and thought, 'Do you know what? We've been given the opportunity to make the best Neighbours we ever could have made'. 'That's where we finished up. I reckon Neighbours is at its peak.' The cast wrapped filming on July 11 at Nunawading Studios and the soap's final broadcast after 40 years will be in December. The programme, which launched the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Margot Robbie and Guy Pearce among others, has followed the lives of people living and working in the fictional Melbourne suburb of Erinsborough since 1985. Neighbours was dropped by Channel 5 in 2022 after it failed to secure new funding, with a finale episode in July that year attracting an average audience of 2.5 million when several well-known characters returned to the show to say goodbye. The soap's return was announced in late 2022, with a social media clip featuring some of the characters being told the news. In February this year it was announced the programme would end after reports production company Fremantle failed to secure a deal with Amazon.

Prime Video has an underrated sci-fi thriller I can't stop thinking about — and you'll be hooked, too
Some movies captivate me without any rhyme or reason. It's not always the one with the best ratings, either. When struggling to find something to watch one night, I came across "Arctic Void" after getting tired of all my usual options. Usually, I avoid films with abysmally low IMDb ratings, but the film's thumbnail image pulled me in to watch. It depicted an isolated boat cast out amid an icy tundra with looming dark clouds above; I couldn't help but give it a try. Directed and co-written by Darren Mann, and starring Michael Weaver, Tim Griffin, and Justin Huen, "Arctic Void" chronicles what happens after three men are left in the middle of a frigid nowhere after everyone else disappears from a seemingly unexplainable event. Although not without its flaws, "Arctic Void" is a slow-burn sci-fi thriller that held my attention and quickly became a personal favorite. And it's streaming now on Prime Video, so you can get hooked, too. "Arctic Void" begins with two best friends, Alan (Tim Griffin) and Ray (Michael Weaver), arriving on one of the Norwegian islands. The dynamics of their relationship are quite clear from the start: Ray's energy thrives on his fame as the star of their travel show, while Alan, his director and producer, battles a growing concern about their trip and, most of all, a desire to return to his family and work on his marriage. They arrive at a port to catch the boat that will take them on a tourist expedition into the Arctic. There, they meet their cameraman, Sean (Justin Huen), whom they've never worked with before. He's not the friendliest and is somewhat strange. Ray can't help but notice that he wears headphones linked up to an old-fashioned metal lunchbox. Curious, when Sean heads to the bathroom, Ray puts them on only to discover it's the sound of whales. Get instant access to breaking news, the hottest reviews, great deals and helpful tips. Except that's not the only weird thing. While their guide on the boat (played by the goofy and charming Rune Temte) engages the tourists, Ray and Alan notice the animals are acting odd. A seagull is seen without eyes, and a sea lion is spotted eating its young. Something is amiss, but everyone else on the boat seems to be fine. 30-day free trial for Amazon Prime! Why pay for Prime Video when it's included with Amazon Prime? Try it free for 30 days. And then something happens: An unexplainable, unknown event causes everyone on the boat, except for Ray, Alan, and Sean, to disappear. Confused and puzzled, the three make their way off the boat and venture into a nearby town. This is when the haunting nature of the film begins. No one is there, either. Slowly, pieces of the puzzle emerge. Alan starts to feel sick while Ray frantically searches for answers. More happened on that boat than a simple, unexplainable event. Amidst the cold tundra is a mystery that doesn't easily get explained. However, I loved the setting of this film and how it evolves into something that isn't entirely impossible. Tim Griffin does a good job of displaying his character's fear, especially as his health dwindles. While Justin Huen remains a character of mystery, Ray's evolution from being someone overly pompous to realizing his life isn't entirely untouchable. While this movie doesn't tie up all the loose ends, it's still a worthy sci-fi thriller. I've rewatched it several times since my first viewing and enjoy it every time. And I especially enjoy the music throughout, composed by Nick Donnelly, which adds to the spooky atmosphere.
