Reuben Owen admits Amanda and Clive 'grew apart' as he addresses split
Reuben, who shot to fame on Our Yorkshire Farm alongside his parents, Amanda and Clive Owen, and his siblings, now headlines his own show, Life in the Dales.
Amanda and Clive, who announced their split in 2022, continue to live and work together at Ravenseat Farm.
While the couple has previously discussed their split, Reuben has now given his perspective in a fresh interview.
"The media still likes to dig up my parents' separation, making out there was some massive battle when there wasn't," Reuben shared with the Telegraph, reports Leeds Live.
"I know how it went, and it was all very amicable. They grew apart and split up, but they are still brilliant parents, whether they're together or not."
He continued: "Every now and again, there will be a headline about some little thing that has been blown up out of all proportion. But you can't be on telly and then expect people not to be interested in what you're doing off-screen."
In June 2022, Amanda and Clive released a statement regarding their separation; however, in a subsequent appearance on Lorraine, Clive confessed that he "played a massive part" in the split.
During the 2023 broadcast, Clive admitted: "It was amazing and successful, I handled it very badly. It was such a change in our life, and I sadly made a right mess of things basically, and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending.
"One of the things I hear is 'poor Clive' and I feel that isn't right. We filmed Our Yorkshire Farm, people loved it and the plan, Amanda's plan was we don't own the farm but this is security," he clarified.
He further emphasised how fame affected them, stating: "We had this plan to make it more secure as a family so that's what drove her, it was amazing and successful.
"I handled it very badly, it was such a change in our life, and I sadly made a right mess of things, and I had a massive part to play in our relationship ending, a massive part to play."
Not only does Reuben feature in a new series with his family titled Our Farm Next Door, but series two of Life in the Dales will premiere on Tuesday night.
The synopsis for the first episode of the series states: "The Our Yorkshire Farm star continues to build his heavy plant machinery business in the Yorkshire Dales.
"As summer arrives in the Dales, Reuben prepares land around a stone barn in neighbouring Cumbria, so homeowner John can commence major renovation works.
"At a farmer's quarry, Reuben attempts to crush 10,000 tons of stone and building waste, so the spoil can be used to make tracks around the farm."

Harry denies he left Prince Andrew with a 'bloody nose' in family gathering spat
Prince Harry has denied exchanging punches with Prince Andrew in a spat between the two royals. A new book claimed the Duke of Sussex and the Duke of York became embroiled in an argument during a family gathering in 2013. The confrontation was said to have been triggered by something said by Andrew 'behind Harry's back'. Entitled: The Rise and Fall of the House of York by Andrew Lownie claims Harry left his uncle with 'a bloody nose' in the dispute. The new book also separately alleges the Duke of York predicted that Harry's marriage to Meghan Markle would 'not last more than a month'. However a spokesperson for the Duke of Sussex denied the pair had ever had a physical altercation or that Andrew had made such comments about the Duchess of Sussex. Andrew stepped back as a full time royal after his car crash interview on Newsnight in 2019 in which he was quizzed about his relationship with paedophile Jeffrey Epstein. His reputation was further battered by claims from Virginia Giuffre that she had been forced to have sex with the duke as a teenager – claims Andrew denies. Lownie's book claims there have been frictions between Andrew and Harry for years, with the latter even allegedly telling his brother, the Prince of Wales, he 'hated' the Duke of York. Andrew, who attacked Harry for failing to carry out 'due diligence' on his wife before their wedding in 2018,is also said to have made rude remarks about the Princess of Wales. The frosty relations between royals come as Andrew faces an uncertain future at the Royal Lodge at Windsor Great Park since his estimated £1million allowance was stopped by the King. In his biography of Andrew, Lownie suggests William has 'long worked behind the scenes' to remove the Duke of York from the estate, where he believes he has abused 'his privilege', the Telegraph reported. The book claims to shine a light on Andrew's behaviour towards longstanding royal servants. He is said to have branded David Anderson, the former manager of Hillsborough Castle in Northern Ireland, a 'f***ing imbecile' for not referring to his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother, by her full title. More Trending Anderson was informing Andrew that a severe storm had wrecked damaged on the royal residence, including to a tree planted by the Queen Mother. After Anderson said he had worked for the royal household since 1984, Andrew allegedly said patronisingly: 'And you still don't know the proper way to refer to my grandmother? You f***ing imbecile. Get out.' Colin Burgess, a former esquerry to Queen Elizabeth II, said that Andrew, in contrast to other senior royals, spoke to staff 'as an officer talks to his subordinates'. Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen left fans feeling emotional after she shared some adorable photos of her and her children out in the Yorkshire Dales, with her beloved dog Amanda Owen had supporters reaching for the tissues after posting a touching message on social media. The Yorkshire Shepherdess became a household name alongside her family, including former spouse Clive - from whom she separated in 2022 - and son Rueben, through the Channel 5 programme Our Yorkshire Farm which launched in 2018. The programme brought viewers into the world of the Owen household, documenting the family's life on their vast 2000-acre property, Ravenseat Farm. The programme follows Amanda and her brood as they face the demanding task of renovating their fresh dilapidated farmhouse, reports the Express. Yet on Saturday (August 2) Amanda had supporters feeling rather sentimental following a touching social media update. Using her Instagram platform, Amanda posted some sweet photographs of herself and her youngsters exploring the Yorkshire Dales, accompanied by her cherished dog herding sheep. She wrote alongside the images with news about her latest television programme: "Whilst on the subject of gathering up, clipping, and turning away sheep. It is now time to chase ewe too. To Our Farm Next Door on channel 4 at 6.10pm tonight Saturday)." However, it was a particular image of Amanda with her dog that sparked considerable discussion. Flocking to the comments area, admirers couldn't hold back their feelings as they highlighted how the dog gazes at Amanda with "so much love". One individual commented: "How the dog looks at you we can see there is so much love." Another concurred: "Your gorgeous collie looks at you with so much love." A third added their voice: "What a good dog." This follows Amanda's devastating news from her farm last week, where she found that two of the pens had been vandalised. Alongside the video, Amanda wrote: "Cross, cross, cross. This is not the normal kind of post I do. Not the kind of post that I want to do. "I know that it will not make any difference whatsoever, but still I hope that someone, somewhere might feel a little uncomfortable or even ashamed. "These places are invaluable, a part of our history and heritage, they do not formally belong to anyone but have been used by for centuries by shepherds, farmers and commoners. They are still in use to this day."

Our Yorkshire Farm's Amanda Owen brands Clive 'unbearable' as she shares health update
Our Yorkshire Farm star Amanda Owen gave an update on her ex-husband Clive during a repeat of Our Farm Next Door, which airs tonight Amanda Owen updated fans on her former husband Clive's recovery during a repeat broadcast of Our Farm Next Door, which airs tonight. Amanda revealed to audiences that Clive had made his way back to the farm after his hip surgery because he had "lost his crutches". "It has been a few weeks since Clive had his hip operation," she explained. "He has dumped the crutches, he's lost his crutches, actually. "It puts him in a bit of a better humour when he can come outside and be a part of what is going on." The mother-of-nine continued, "It has been very frustrating for him; that is me being polite," reports the Manchester Evening News. Speaking directly to Clive afterwards, Amanda declared, "You have been unbearable," which made Clive chuckle. "I have not," he shot back before insisting, "I have not, I have kept myself to myself. I've minded my own business, I don't think I have shouted at anybody or anything." Offering him an illustration, Amanda responded: "One day, you were sat in your underpants staring at the floor in the kitchen." "It's a really frustrating and horrible thing," Clive remarked as Amanda told him, "You really are a frustrating and horrible thing." Clive appeared unfazed by the remark as he brushed it off with laughter. Throughout the repeat of last week's Our Farm Next Door episode, Clive acknowledged he had been a "horrible patient" after his procedure. "I have definitely been a horrible patient because I am impatient," the farmer admitted. "I couldn't have managed without these lads to do what needed doing. So yeah, they have done very well. "It means from now on they needn't hand the reins back to me, they can just carry on," he added before joking with his son: "I could find myself redundant, what do you think, Miley?" "That is what family farms are all about, everybody has to help." Our Farm Next Door is available to watch on All4.
