Apple iPhone 17 Pro new MagSafe design leaked: Here is what you need to know

Apple iPhone 17 Pro design leaks: iPhone 17 Pro MagSafe redesign is capturing attention after fresh leaks revealed a subtle yet significant shift in Apple's accessory game. Reports highlight a new MagSafe magnet layout with a gap in the classic circular arrangement, allowing the iPhone Apple logo—now positioned lower—to remain visible when using transparent cases .
This design tweak hints at a bold rear look that aligns with the rumoured horizontal camera bar stretching across the phone's back, blending form and function. While existing MagSafe accessories will stay compatible, this refresh could mean faster wireless charging and an updated aesthetic ready for a September 2025 launch.
Stay tuned to find out why this subtle reimagining of MagSafe might redefine how we accessories and experience our next flagship iPhone.
iPhone 17 Pro expected launch timeline
Apple usually follows a consistent launch schedule, and the iPhone 17 base model is expected to be revealed between September 11-13, 2025. Pre-orders could begin immediately after the official unveiling, and if Apple sticks to its traditional timeline, the iPhone 17 series may go on sale around September 19, 2025.

Majin Bu, the leaker, posted a picture of purported MagSafe magnet arrays for third-party iPhone 17 Pro cases. The magnets on current iPhone models with MagSafe create a full circle, whereas the new design has a hole.
According to Majin Bu and Sonny Dickson, the iPhone 17 Pro models' larger camera bump will cause the Apple logo on the back to be positioned lower than it is on current iPhone models.
The new MagSafe design will guarantee the logo is fully visible when an updated MagSafe case protects the devices.
This modification seems to be cosmetic, with no functional enhancement, as iPhone case manufacturer sources informed Majin Bu that current MagSafe accessories will continue to work with the iPhone 17 Pro versions.
According to various rumours, with a future iteration of Apple's MagSafe Charger, the iPhone 17 Pro models may offer at least higher MagSafe charging speeds than earlier generations.

iPhone 17 Pro's other expected specifications
iPhone 17 Pro Performance
Apple's next-generation A19 Pro CPU, which promises improved efficiency and appreciable increases in overall speed and capability, is anticipated to power the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max.
However, the A18 chip—the same CPU currently available in the iPhone 16 series—will probably be retained in the regular iPhone 17 and the 17 Air.
iPhone 17 Pro Camera
In a research note dated August 2024, Analyst Jeff Pu forecasted that all four iPhone 17 series models will include a 24MP front-facing camera, which would significantly advance above the 12MP selfie camera found in the iPhone 16 lineup.
In January 2024, well-known Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo subsequently reaffirmed this prediction. In October 2024, Pu also disclosed that a revamped horizontal triple-lens rear camera system, including a 48MP telephoto sensor with 3.5x optical zoom, is anticipated to be included in the iPhone 17 Pro.
iPhone 17 Pro's expected price in India
In 2025, Apple is anticipated to keep the base iPhone models priced at the same level. Early rumors suggest that the iPhone 17 may start at ₹89,900 when it launches in India, while the recently released iPhone 17 Air may retail for Rs 99,900.
The iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max are expected to cost Rs 1,39,900 and Rs 1,64,900 on the top end of the price spectrum. There may be pricing changes closer to the formal announcement because these numbers are based on early leaks and have not yet been officially confirmed by Apple.

Apple hits pause on its plan to compete with Amazon, Microsoft and Google cloud

Apple reportedly explored a venture into the public cloud market, intending to launch its own cloud services powered by its high-performance M-series chips to rival giants like Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud. However, according to a report from The Information (via macrumors), the company has seemingly put this initiative on hold. Apple's Project ACDC: An affordable, efficient cloud The report said that the initiative, internally known as Project ACDC (Apple Chips in Data Centers), aimed to offer developers direct access to Apple's proprietary M-series chips. The core idea was to provide a more affordable and more efficient alternative to traditional cloud platforms, which typically rely on Intel processors or GPU-heavy servers. Apple's M-series chips are renowned for their computing efficiency and AI inferencing capabilities, making them an attractive foundation for a new cloud service. The report said that Apple already utilises its M-series chips beyond its consumer devices like Macs and iPads. The company began testing these chips in data centers with the introduction of Private Cloud Compute (PCC), designed to handle complex AI queries when on-device processing isn't sufficient. Furthermore, key Apple services such as Siri , Photos, and Music have also gained access to M-series chips to enhance performance, particularly in areas like search, potentially laying the groundwork for a much-needed upgrade to Siri. Project ACDC is said to be envisioned as an Apple-centric initiative, with plans to offer the service to developers via its existing Developer Relations team. This would enable developers to design iOS and macOS apps directly on Apple's silicon, reducing their reliance on expensive third-party GPUs. Leadership departure leading to uncertain future The Information reports that the future of Project ACDC remains uncertain, especially after Michael Abbott, the executive who previously led the initiative, left Apple in 2023. While discussions reportedly continued into early 2024, no concrete plans for a public launch have materialised. AI Masterclass for Students. Upskill Young Ones Today!– Join Now
