The Conners EPs Reveal the Roseanne Vets They Wanted - But Never Got Back
This week on ABC's The Rookie — in a documentary-style episode that involved Nolan's almost-daughter-in-law Abigail, the Westview psychiatric hospital that Liam Glasser used to call home, and the reveal that Angela is a low-key shlock producer — Sgt. Tim Bradford (played by Eric Winter) and Officer Lucy Chen (Melissa O'Neil) accidentally came in contact with sodium pentothal aka 'truth serum.'
As one does.
At first just groggy after touching the damp walls of the abandoned facility, Lucy and Tim came to realize they'd been dosed with truth serum. The reveals and realizations that followed were varied… and in one instance quite seismic.
'I hate making mistakes in front of you,' Tim was first to share, delivering brand-new news to his ex.
Tim then attempted to be prudent, saying, 'We should keep quiet until this wears off, it's better for us.'
But before he knew it, he was sharing his most embarrassing memory, of how in the third grade 'I snuck a hamster into our classroom in my pants.'
The duo tries to busy themselves with police work, but one 'fast-forward' later, they were back at it — and on a deeper level. Tim said that with the kind of dad he grew up with, he felt he 'deserved to be punished. And without him to punish me, I punished myself,' by breaking up with Lucy.
Tim tried to spin that 'it's kind of flattering' for Lucy, that his ultimate punishment was to deny himself her, but she was very quick to note, 'You didn't punish just yourself,' but her as well.
'I know…,' he nodded, 'and look, if you never fully forgive me, I totally understand.'
And then the biggest truth came.
'I've already forgiven you,' Lucy blurted before catching herself, and awkwardly laughing. 'Huh. I wonder when that happened?'
To think we didn't actually get to hear the 'baby names discussed,' as later revealed by the documentarian!
Lucy's realization-slash-confession is, yes, 'another good sign on the way towards where we are going with them,' The Rookie showrunner Alexi Hawley tells TVLine.
'Obviously, there's the obstacle of the sergeants exam,' the EP is quick to note. 'It's very necessary for Lucy to pass that for them to get on equal footing, if they were to be together. But I do think that her finally realizing that she has forgiven him — and him having done the emotional work on himself he needed to — is a good sign.'
In next week's episode, Tim supports Lucy as she prepares for said exam — which, The Rookie being The Rookie, is easier said than done.
'As always, there's a lot going on in our episodes. There might be a distraction or two…,' Hawley winks. And even once the exam is taken, 'they don't post the results right away, so there's also the pain of waiting, and the stress of that.'
Viewers, though, won't have the pain and stress of waiting until Season 8 to know the outcome of Lucy's exam.
'We'll know the answer before the end of the season,' Hawley promises, 'and maybe we'll have a bit of storytelling with that.'Best of TVLine

Commanders to induct legendary wide receiver Santana Moss into Ring of Fame

A big surprise for Tana to end today's live show 💛 Before Terry McLaurin in Washington, there was Santana Moss. Criminally underrated, model citizen, beloved by teammates, coaches, and fans, not a diva, and never having sustained quality quarterback play. Now, the team is honoring Moss. Moss, who works for the team's broadcast crew, was surprised by fellow broadcast partner and team legend Brian Mitchell. During Washington's Week 1 game against the New York Giants, the Commanders will induct Moss into the franchise's Ring of Fame. Here's Moss learning the news from Mitchell: A first-round pick of the New York Jets in the 2001 NFL draft, the Redskins traded disgruntled wide receiver Laveranues Coles to the Jets for Moss ahead of the 2005 season. Coles initially began his career with the Jets, but signed with Washington as a free agent in 2003. He was unhappy in Joe Gibbs' offense and wanted out. Washington then made one of the best trades in franchise history, sending Coles to the Jets in a straight-up deal for Moss. In only his second game for the Redskins, Moss caught two late fourth-quarter touchdowns to shock the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. His legendary status with the franchise was already cemented. Moss would play 10 seasons in the burgundy and gold, catching 581 passes for 7,867 yards and 47 touchdowns. He finished his 14-year NFL career with 732 receptions, 10,283 yards and 66 touchdowns. Congratulations to Santana Moss!

Aaron Rodgers gushes over new wife: ‘Your whole world changes when you meet the right one'

Aaron Rodgers has kept his marriage on the down low, but he has no issue speaking about their love at length. The 41-year-old confirmed at minicamp that he got married over the offseason after he was spotted with a band that he confirmed was a wedding ring. Not much is known about Rodgers' wife, except that her name is Brittani. Rodgers spoke at length last month about his wife's wishes for a private life. But he made their "unconditional" love very public while speaking with the NFL Network on Saturday. "When you meet the right one, and you're with the right one, your whole world changes in a second. And to have that person that unconditionally loves you behind the scenes, there's no better feeling in the world, and I've got the most incredible wife," Rodgers said, via "I just really love her, and I'm so thankful to have her by my side at the end. When you have that stability and that rock behind you at the house, you feel like you can do anything." Rodgers' relationship history has been the subject of widespread coverage and controversy throughout his NFL career. Rodgers previously dated actresses Olivia Munn and Shaleine Woodley and former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick. Rodgers' past relationships were recalled in his docuseries "Enigma," which debuted on Netflix last week. He explained that he "hated" the fame that came with his successful football career. Rodgers signed a one-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers over the offseason after a failed tenure with the New York Jets, who released him. In ironic fashion, the Steelers and Jets face off to begin the NFL season.
