STEPH McGovern revealed the chilling moment that forced her to take action against a deranged stalker.
The television star, 43, appeared on today's This Morning and revealed her stalker experience has influenced part of her debut novel, Deadline.

Telling hosts Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley about her ordeal, Steph explained that the man never caused her harm but his delusions became increasingly concerning.
The man fell in love with her, believing she was addressing him directly through the TV screen whenever she was speaking to viewers in general.
It all got too much when he somehow got hold of her parents' address and wrote to her dad asking for permission to marry her.
She explained: "My dad rang me and said, 'Steph, who's this fella you're seeing?'
"He talked to my dad about being in a relationship with me and he kind of asked for my hand in marriage."
When Ben revealed his surprise that the man had managed to get the address, Steph continued: "That's what freaked me out. At that point it's very different from having someone being there at broadcasting things to finding your parents address and writing to them.
"That panicked me because I thought my mum and dad are going to be dead worried here.
"That's when it all kicked in and the BBC security team did their thing."
No charges were ever brought against the stalker.
Steph has been busy ever since Channel 4 axed her daytime show, Steph's Packed Lunch, in December 2023.

Not only has she written a novel, she also starred in Bear Grylls' hit Netflix reality show, Celebrity Bear Hunt.
It pushed her to the limit and in one terrifying incident she ended up bashing her face off a cliff face.
Medics scrambled to help her as she helplessly hung from her safety harness while host Holly Willoughby watched on with concern.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun earlier this year, Steph said: "We had these amazing medics and everything. There was a moment where I literally fell off a cliff and smashed into a wall.
"You will see, it was pretty scary. When I got pulled back off the cliff, I saw everyone's face and I thought, 'oh', and then Holly is like, 'Oh my goodness'.
"I was just hanging there looking at... There was blood dripping off my face.
"I didn't overthink it. I just thought, they're not going to let me die.
"It was fine, it wasn't a big deal, it wasn't broken. They were just kind of checking me that I didn't have a concussion. I was a bit mad. You know these things sometimes that look more dramatic than they actually are?"
In difficult-to-watch moments, Steph fell from a ledge during a challenge and swung towards the sheer rockface.
The impact was heavy and she repeatedly shouted "Ow!".
Co-star Big Zuu could be heard asking if she was alright as Holly reassured him medics were on their way to help.

Fiona Phillips' husband's devastating cancer confession amid Alzheimer's battle
Fiona Phillips and her husband, Martin Frizzell, have candidly opened up about the former GMTV star's Alzheimer's condition and Martin shared an honest admission Fiona Phillips was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2023 and now her husband has made a heartbreaking confession as they deal with the condition. Martin Frizzell, 65, has admitted he wishes the former GMTV star, 64, had "cancer instead". Martin, who has been married to Fiona for 28 years opened up in the couple's joint memoir titled Remember When: My Life with Alzheimer's. The release comes after Fiona has continued to be open about her condition following her diagnosis two years ago. And now, in an excerpt from the book, Martin's devastating confession was laid bare. "It's a shocking thing to say, but at least then she might have had a chance of a cure, and certainly would have had a treatment pathway and an array of support and care packages," he said when speaking of his wish she had been diagnosed with cancer instead. The excerpt, which was shared in the Mail, continued: "But that's not there for Alzheimer's. Just like there are no funny or inspiring TikTok videos or fashion shoots with smiling, healthy, in-remission survivors." Martin added that it felt as though the pair had been "left to cope alone" post diagnosis. He admits that since the diagnosis, he has took on tasks which he had once taken for granted. The pair have also hired a trained carer to help provide the best attention for the former TV star. Martin also stepped down from his ITV position in February to take care of Fiona. Martin explained how on bad days Fiona experiences moments of confusion which sees her demanding to see her parents who have sadly passed away. And Fiona also shared how she much she was struggling to accept the diagnosis in the beginning. In her own words, she said the challenges she faces are like "trying to chase a £5 note that's fallen out of your purse on a gusty day". She candidly said that it felt as though every time she had caught it, it blew out of reach once more. Speaking of why the couple decided to write the book, Fiona added: "Gradually, Martin and I thought maybe I should start telling more people. Martin felt that if more people knew what was happening to me then they wouldn't judge me if I did ever start behaving unusually – not that I thought I did. It was hardly like I was going down the street half-clothed, yelling at people." According to the NHS, Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia in the UK. Dementia is the name for a group of symptoms associated with an ongoing decline of brain functioning and it can affect memory, thinking skills and other mental abilities. Fiona had initially thought she was having menopause symptoms when she first started experiencing "brain fog and anxiety". Sadly, the star already had first hand experience of Alzheimer's having cared for her parents after both of them were also diagnosed with the condition.

BBC star announces death of dad and shares final moments
BBC star Nina Warhurst has shared the poignant loss of her father in a heartfelt tribute, revealing his battle with dementia. The 44 year old journalist, who anchors BBC's News at One live from Salford, took to Instagram on Sunday (July 6) to announce the sombre news to her 46.7k followers, posting an evocative black and white image of her clasping her dad's hand. In a deeply moving message, she recounted their final moments together, filled with emotion and family memories. "My Dad died on Wednesday night," she wrote. "From Sunday me, my Mum and sisters spent precious time with him around the crying, laughing, sharing memories. "On his last day we had nursing home afternoon tea, chippy chips and wine together," reports the Manchester Evening News. "He drifted away gently with me and Amy holding him and telling him to "go head. We'll see you there soon. And he did. I had my hand on his heart as the ripples softened and stopped. "A gentle end to a gentle life. So much love and laughter and sunshine across days I'll never forget." Nina reflected further: "He is in my mind all the time now as we adjust to a world without him in it. I can't quite accept that's real yet. But we think it's really important for anyone going through this to know that the end can be peaceful and beautiful. "Kim, Daniel, Anna, Moody, Charlotte, Clara, Eddie, Obi, Sarah, Kat, Michael, Colin, Dorothy, Helen, Gracie and all the care home staff and residents who welcomed us in to their world and made it our home for those days and nights we can't thank you enough." Nina received an outpouring of support from her followers, as well as friends and family, in the comments section. Her sister Amy commented: "It was beautiful. Aren't we lucky? Love you Nines x." A follower shared their empathy, saying: "Nina, I'm so sorry. My mum had Alzheimer's and died in similar circumstances with us all around her. He will always be with you. I will never forget the kindness of the care home staff to the whole family, looking after all of us throughout my mum's illness. They really do not get enough credit for what they do. Take care of yourself and your family." Another sympathised: "Oh Nina I'm so sorry for your loss. You gave him a beautiful send off and were with him as he passed and that means so much. Thinking of you and all the family so much xxx."
