Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow Full Cast Revealed So Far, Including Milly Alcock and a Surprise Cameo
Supergirl is Superman's cousin and was raised on a fragment of Krypton, witnessing devastating loss before arriving on Earth. James Gunn, co-head of DC Studios, said, 'We see the difference between Superman who was sent to Earth and raised by loving parents from the time he was an infant, versus Supergirl who was raised on a rock…and watched everyone around her die.'
Eve Ridley as Ruthye: The young warrior
Newcomer Eve Ridley plays Ruthye Marye Knoll, a noble young woman who joins Supergirl on a galactic journey, as per Just Jared. Ruthye's mission is personal, to seek revenge on the man who killed her father. Together, the two embark on a deadly quest. Matthias Schoenaerts has been cast as the film's main villain, Krem, the man responsible for Ruthye's father's death.
The movie also includes a look at Supergirl's past. Emily Beecham plays her mother, while David Krumholtz appears as her father. These characters are expected to give more emotional depth to Kara's backstory.
Here's who's making a surprise cameo
Jason Momoa is set to appear in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow as Lobo, the alien bounty hunter from Czarnia. The casting was officially confirmed in December. Momoa has long expressed his desire to play the role.
In a 2022 text message shared by James Gunn, Momoa wrote: 'F–king Lobo.' Gunn replied, 'Dude, I've said you should be Lobo for years. No lie.' Momoa later told Fandango, 'If they call me and ask me to play him, it's a f–k yeah…it's the perfect role.' Superman actor David Corenswet may also make a cameo, though it has not been officially confirmed.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow recently wrapped filming in England and Iceland. The film is based on the comic of the same name and will explore a darker, grittier version of Supergirl.
The official synopsis reads: 'Supergirl travels across the galaxy to celebrate her 21st birthday with Krypto the Superdog. Along the way, she meets a young woman named Ruthye and winds up on a murderous quest for revenge.' Krypto the Superdog is confirmed to appear in the film.

James Gunn's Take On David Corenswet Replacing Henry Cavill In Superman
Last Updated: James Gunn discusses telling Henry Cavill he won't return as Superman, calling it "unfair." Gunn hints at future DCU roles for Cavill. Amid the thunderous response coming in for the latest release, Superman, director James Gunn reflected on the moment when he had to tell Henry Cavill that he was not returning to the film. Gunn took a trip down memory lane to recall the time when a section of the studio tried to 'force" the casting of Cavill in the film which was 'never part of the equation," which, according to him, created an 'unfair" situation for Cavill. During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, as quoted by Variety, Gunn said, 'The day our [DC] deal closed, all of a sudden, they were announcing that Henry was back. And I'm like, 'What is going on?' We know what the plan is. The plan was to come in and do 'Superman.' So it was really unfair to him and a total bummer." To solve the misunderstanding, James Gunn decided to sit down for a chat with Henry Cavill and disclose the news himself. The director added, 'So, that was really unfortunate. Peter and I [thought] the right thing to do was to sit down with [Cavill] and talk to him. And we sat down and we talked to him. He was an absolute gentleman, a great guy about it. He said, 'The only thing I ask is that I'm able to reveal it myself as opposed to it coming from you guys." Gunn also hinted at bringing back Henry Cavill to the future DCU movies. When asked whether it would be 'too confusing" to recast the actor in the DC Universe, the director responded, 'No, as another character? Absolutely not. I talked to him about it on that day. I would love to put Henry in something." Henry Cavill played the Man of Steel across three DC films from 2013 to 2017. He was replaced by David Corenswet for Gunn's DCU debut feature Superman, which arrived in theatres on July 11. Alongside David Cornswet, Superman also features Nicholas Hoult (Lex Luthor), Rachel Brosnahan (Lois Lane), Skyler Gisondo (Jimmy Olsen), Anthony Carrigan (Metamorpho), Edi Gathegi (Mister Terrific), Nathan Fillion (Guy Gardner) and Isabela Merced (Hawkgirl). Marvel to have new Iron Man and Captain America, will bring new actors for X-Men film
Los Angeles, July 21 (PTI) Marvel is set to recast characters in its upcoming X-Men franchise and Tony Stark, a character that became synonymous with Robert Downey Jr in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kevin Feige, chief of Marvel Studios, has confirmed that the company has decided to recast the actors following the events in the 'Avengers: Secret Wars", slated to release in December 2027. Many actors from the previous "X-Men" films, including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen, Alan Cumming, Rebecca Romijn, James Marsden, and Kelsey Grammer, are, however, reprising their roles in "Avengers: Doomsday". It will release in 2026. "We're utilizing that not just to round out the stories we've been telling post-'Endgame (2019),' just as importantly — and you can look at the 'Secret Wars' comics for where that takes you — it very, very much sets us up for the future. 'Endgame,' literally, was about endings. 'Secret Wars' is about beginnings," he told reporters, according to Variety. Feige said the MCU's first X-Men movie, to be directed by "Thunderbolts" director Jake Schreier, will be a 'reset,' not a 'reboot' of the MCU. "Reboot is a scary word. Reboot can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. Reset, singular timeline — we're thinking along those lines. 'X-Men' is where that will happen next," he said. He gave a reference of Amazon MGM's film producers searching for new actors to essay the role of James Bond and the recently released "Superman", as he spoke of replacement. "Amy Pascal and David Heyman are now searching for a new James Bond. David (Corenswet), the new Superman — he was awesome. That will always be the case," he said. Feige mentioned actors Downey Jr and Chris Evans, who have retired from their MCU characters and said it becomes difficult to replace an actor who has done commendable work but it's not impossible. Downey Jr's Tony Stark aka Iron Man dies at the end of "Avengers: Endgame" while Captain America chose retirement. 'I think it's hard for anybody to do that when an actor has done such a great role,' he said. 'How are they going to ever replace Sean Connery (as James Bond), right," he added.
