Coronation Street casts Brookside legend in new role
The actress, 56, appeared as Bev Dixon in the Channel 4 soap across four separate stints between 1993 and the final ever episode in 2003.
With 618 episodes under her belt, Sarah is a real soap legend – and later went on to have three parts in the now axed BBC daytime medical drama Doctors.
She also starred in the 2017 film God's Own Country, and more recently in the final series of Jimmy McGovern series Moving On.
Now, it has been reported that she's heading to the cobbles later in the year.
Sarah's character will be entwined in Theo Silverton's (James Cartwright) bitter divorce from wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson), who he left for a new life with Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce).
His difficult upbringing was then explored, with Theo revealing that he had been put through conversion therapy.
Recent scenes have shown his behaviour become somewhat unpredictable, and his daughter Millie (Kaitlyn Early) has caused a multitude of issues.
After faking a pregnancy, she continued to try and drive a wedge between her father and Todd.
'Sarah will be playing a mediator as part of Theo Silverton's acrimonious divorce from wife Danielle,' a source confirmed to The Sun.
'She's filming now and will be seen on screen later this year.'
Speaking of the story, Gareth Pierce told Metro: 'I think at this point, we're starting to spot some anger management issues on Theo's part, at the very least.

He continued: 'He's trying to be understanding of Theo. He's been suppressing his sexuality for so long, Todd is trying to encourage him towards being someone that can be comfortable in their new gay identity.
'I think Todd has spotted many things from Theo, but he still has the mindset that he can fix this and because of the love that's there, he's thinking they will get through it.

'Our audience are probably also spotting some of those flashes of jealousy and perhaps a kind of need to control that maybe Todd is not currently spotting or doesn't want to spot.'

Helen hopes to move to London eventually, but for now, they are planning to stay where they are to avoid disrupting her kids' education. The soap star admitted that she will struggle to downsize from her lavish eight-bedroom house. Speaking on The Declutter Hub podcast with Ingrid Jansen and Lesley Spellman, she insisted she was 'down to earth' but that moving would be hard. I put loads of my savings into making it look really beautiful. It's eight bedrooms which is hard to keep on top of - it's a lot,' she shared. 'When we move I will struggle to downsize - I don't want to not sounds down to earth. Bu it will feel weird. It will be more manageable for me.' Helen split from Scott after 13 years together and then moved on with construction worker Robbie, 45, but they split in May and she now wants to be single. Speaking to The Mirror earlier this week, she explained: 'I'm concentrating on the kids, work, moving house and being with my friends. 'I'm quite sensitive and struggle with dating. There's always something with men. Now I want to be single a bit. 'Robbie was very sweet and kind. He was older than me and cared about me. 'Sometimes relationships just don't work long term.' Helen went on to admit that after Robbie's daughter Carina and her daughter Delilah became 'close', she will be hesitant to introduce her children to anyone in the future. Speaking on the Daily Mail's The Life of Bryony podcast in March, just weeks before their split, Helen gushed over her relationship with Robbie. She said: 'He's lovely. Everybody loves him. I just met him at a bar. I literally, I just, I could not stop laughing at this guy.' 'My boyfriend's actually the funniest guy I've ever met. He's got two kids and he's, he's really beautiful with my children.' 'I think that's what made me fall more in love with him because he's so good with my mental health things and that's the main thing for me that I need.' 'I need someone that's good for me mentally and emotionally, that's my top thing and that's what I've realised.' 'No disrespect to the father of my children, I'll always have that love for him, but he didn't know how to cope with me or didn't know how to do that, and not everybody does, but because the man that I'm with now really knows how to do that, it makes me happy.'

CATHERINE Tyldesley is making a Coronation Street comeback as new landlady of the Rovers Return pub. Bosses persuaded Catherine, 41, who plays Eva Price, to rejoin after seven years away with the promise of big storylines. 4 4 4 By running the pub, Eva Price will follow in the footsteps of key former Street characters including Liz McDonald, Bet Lynch and Annie Walker. It comes after The Sun revealed actress Sally Ann Matthews, who plays recent landlady Jenny Connor, had been axed from the ITV soap. Coronation Street Becky Swain's real killer 'solved' as villain's return 'sealed'
Coronation Street fans think a former villain will be revealed as the person who orchestrated the death of Lisa Swain's wife Becky Swain, and DI Costello could be involved Becky Swain's real killer on Coronation Street may have been rumbled according to fans of the ITV soap. This week's episodes have left them convinced that an existing character is involved in Becky's death and a possible cover-up. Not only that, but fans think a past villain may return and be revealed as the reason Becky is dead. It comes as Lisa Swain continued to dig into her late wife's demise in recent scenes, after suggestion she may have been a corrupt officer. DI Costello downplayed this as he called out Lisa for sneaking onto his computer to access Becky's files. Costello's reaction, the comments from Logan Radcliffe to Lisa's partner Carla Connor and a scene with Lisa's therapist Floyd have now left fans certain a cover-up is confirmed. Not only that, but they think they have figured out how everything ties together. With Costello appearing to know more than he's letting on, fans think he is harbouring the true events that led to Becky's demise, or at least what happened to her. Logan knows something too, with it revealed earlier this year that he and his brother Matty Radcliffe were driving the car that hit and killed her. Then there's Floyd's weird comment to a mystery person on the phone about a "breakthrough" with Lisa during a session, moments after she confessed her fears Becky was corrupt. Fans are now wondering if Floyd is also involved. But it's a former villain that some fans are convinced knows something, and could even be Becky's killer - or the person who made it happen. Costello could also be tied in according to the theory, and it could see said villain return to the soap. Logan and Matty were revealed to be working for former baddie Harvey Gaskell months ago.
