BTS' Jin has officially launched his first solo fan concert tour, RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR. And the opening night couldn't have been more electric. On June 28, Jin lit up the Goyang Auxiliary Stadium with a concert. It brought heartfelt performances, playful segments, and an undeniable connection with ARMY.
An extension of his variety series Run Jin, this solo tour is Jin's personal gift to fans. It was packed with nostalgia, charm, and his signature humor. The stage came alive as Jin greeted thousands of fans, setting the tone with a dramatic performance of Running Wild. It's the title track from his solo debut album Happy.
BTS support and flying kisses for ARMY
As soon as the concert began, fans spotted familiar faces in the crowd. BTS members V (Kim Taehyung), RM, and J-Hope made surprise appearances to cheer on their bandmate. Moreover, Jungkook's, Yoongi's, and J-Hope's parents were also spotted showing their support at the concert.
After opening with I'll Be There, With the Clouds, and Falling, Jin paused to greet ARMY warmly. Flashing his signature flying kisses, he teased, 'I really wanted to do the kiss so much, and at interviews, I said I would wait to do it at the concert.' Hearing him, cheers erupted across the stadium.
Run Jin comes to life on stage
Taking the theme of challenges from Run Jin, Jin brought fan-interactive games into the concert setlist. In one highlight, he declared ARMY the special guest of the night, saying, 'You are all my favorite people.' He then launched into the Telepathy Game, where he guessed fan-actuated keywords. Each correct answer influenced his costume choice for the quirky track Super Tuna.
Later, a Sing Along Game brought out the infamous tray penalty from Run Jin. Jin laughed through the chaos, even pretending to lose on the final question just to make fans laugh. 'It's really fun listening to your singing. It feels like I've become a fan of ARMY,' he beamed.
Explosive guest performances
Jin gave fans a rollercoaster of emotions with soulful piano renditions of I Will Come to You and Abyss. Then, switching gears, he fired up the stadium with rock-infused tracks like Background and Another Level.
The energy skyrocketed when Choi Ye Na joined Jin for a duet of Loser. Their chemistry lit up the stage, and before exiting, Ye Na teased her upcoming comeback in late July. She expressed her gratitude for performing in front of ARMY.
A medley of hits
Jin continued the show with Rope It and a vibrant medley of BTS classics including Dynamite, Butter, Mikrokosmos, and Spring Day. It turned the stadium into a glowing sea of purple lightsticks and voices.
As the grand finale approached, Jin performed a moving rendition of The Astronaut. He laid flat on stage as confetti and fireworks created a dreamlike ending. But ARMY wasn't ready to let go.
encore, epiphany, and moonlight moments
Responding to chants, Jin returned for an emotional encore, performing his beloved solo track Epiphany from Love Yourself: Answer. Taking a moment to reflect, he revealed that the entire tour was prepared in just four months. It's a fraction of the usual year-long planning.
With a giant group selfie and one last shout of Run Jin!, he descended from the stage to sing Moon up close with the crowd. He wrapped up the concert with To Me, Today.
Witty merch and what's next
One special detail has gone viral! A towel handed out at the concert was stamped with the cheeky message: 'Towel of those who won the ticketing battle.' Fans flooded online communities with photos, praising Jin's humor and thoughtfulness.
Jin's Goyang stop includes an additional performance before he heads abroad for the rest of the RUNSEOKJIN_EP.TOUR. The tour is set to continue in Chiba, Osaka, Anaheim, Dallas, Tampa, Newark, London, and Amsterdam.

Petition filed to BAN BTS star SUGA from KBS broadcasts over DUI conviction

A formal petition has been submitted to the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS), urging the network to restrict appearances by BTS member SUGA due to a past drunk driving offence. The petition, posted on KBS's viewer message board, calls on the broadcaster's Appearance Regulation Review Committee to evaluate the singer's eligibility for future broadcasts. Titled 'Request to restrict SUGA's appearance in relation to his DUI fine,' the petition references an incident from August 6, 2024, during which SUGA, while serving as a social service agent, was caught operating an electric scooter under the influence. His blood alcohol level reportedly exceeded 0.08% — enough to warrant license revocation under South Korean law. He was later fined 15 million KRW approximately $11,000 via a summary order issued in September 2024. As reported by allkpop, the petitioner argued that drunk driving is a 'serious offense that can directly endanger others,' and expressed concern over the potential message SUGA's presence on television could send to younger audiences. 'As a public figure with considerable influence over young people, SUGA's continued appearances on television could weaken public awareness of the gravity of DUI crimes,' the petition stated. The petitioner also noted that while KBS had not addressed the matter earlier due to the ongoing investigation, the legal process has since concluded, with the fine finalised on September 27, 2024. SUGA was officially discharged from his alternative military service on June 21, 2025. 'Prompt and fair measures must be taken to maintain public trust and uphold the broadcaster's responsibility as a public institution,' the petition concluded, urging swift action from the committee. As of now, KBS has not publicly responded to the petition.

‘Suga is the Eminem of K-pop': Grammy-winning producer reveals why the West wants to work with the singer

BTS member SUGA kicked off a solo world tour before heading to the military, spanning 102 days across 10 countries, including the United States. The rapper of the seven-member boy band saw his popularity hit a whole new high. But apart from being a performer, SUGA is known for producing his own music—something he's been obsessed with since childhood. He's done it for big names in the industry like Heize, IU, PSY, OMI, Suran, and even Jungkook. But according to Grammy-winning producer Frankie Biggz, SUGA isn't just another idol. His music is now being recognised overseas, and he's changing how people view producers in the K-pop space. Biggz even compared his authenticity to that of U.S. rapper Eminem. Also read: BTS' Suga's students didn't know he was a star: 'He always arrived early, read my 500-page textbook, wasn't just a donor,' says hospital's professor Biggz, who's worked with names like Kanye West, 50 Cent, and Eminem, was recently interviewed by Honorary Reporters, a program backed by South Korea's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism. He praised the 'Daechwita' hitmaker for proving that music producers don't always need to stay behind the curtain. They can create beats, master albums, and take full control, on stage, on tour, and on charts worldwide, all at once. What really struck him was how SUGA does it all while being part of one of the most influential groups in the world. A group whose voice reaches even the UN, yet here's a guy still handling every inch of his creative process, start to finish. 'So, for SUGA to be doing what he's doing, he had to be obsessed with it. He was obsessed even before he became a member of BTS,' Biggz said. Also read: BTS' V turns heads in black tank top at RunSeokjin tour; RM, J-Hope bust out dance moves to Super Tuna To Biggz, SUGA's already carved a niche that puts him at the top of every Western label's wish-list. 'He's an amazing artiste, he looks great, the camera loves him, and he has millions of fans around the world; that's a very attractive quality for any Western label. Secondly, it's not just for show. He attracts Western artistes because he is one of the most talented people on earth.' Artistes like him aren't just collaborators, they are someone who bridges the gap, the producer emphasised. 'When it comes to breaking through, when it comes to who's going to be the first to introduce a sound, who's going to be the first to carve their way through all of that, he's winning,' Biggz said. Since SUGA understands both Korean and Western sounds, he's in a unique spot to connect the two, and the industry trusts him to do just that. 'But I think that SUGA is just a chameleon in terms of production,' he added. Biggz also pointed out what separates legends like Kanye and Eminem: 'that maniacal obsession with their careers,' something he clearly sees in SUGA too. Drawing a direct comparison to Eminem, he said: 'He has that presence. He has that authenticity, like Eminem, SUGA carries himself with respect, but if someone offends one of his team members, you're going to have to talk to him first.' 'In the future, K-pop will likely have an increasing influence on global trends,' Biggz said, adding, 'Min Yoongi can become a conduit for Western professionals into the Korean industry, demonstrating that professionalism and respect for the process are universal values of the Korean music industry.' The producer acknowledged that while he isn't sure what kind of life SUGA lived in his early days, one thing he's certain of is that this kind of resilience, understanding, presence, and toughness, those genuine qualities, don't come from a perfect life situation.
