AROUND ten girls were reportedly pricked by a man with a syringe during a French musical festival.
The incident is said to have unfolded in Metz on Friday, when over 50,000 flocked to celebrate World Music Day, Le Républicain Lorrain reports.

The girls - most reportedly minors - were targeted by one or more people at around 10pm, according to the local outlet.
The alleged attacks happened between two popular spots in the city centre, Place de la République and Place Saint-Jacques.
Firefighters at the event quickly tended to the girls, who were then rushed to hospital "for analysis", according to Metz mayor François Grosdidier.
A man was arrested by local cops in connection with the incidents.
He was taken to the police station to be interviewed.
Grosdidier estimated that a crowd of 50,000 packed the city centre, adding: "It's Saturday night and it's still hot… There are a lot of people, people everywhere, in all the city centre streets."
Police remained on duty throughout the night following the incident.
It comes as a school girl was stabbed to death by a 15-year-old student who went on a knife rampage at a school in the French city of Nantes.
The attacker, wearing black clothing and a balaclava, also stabbed three other students who were rushed to hospital.
When armed cops arrived at the scene, the attacker reportedly shouted "shoot me in the head" before being handcuffed and taken away.

The suspect was named as Justin P. by French newspaper Le Parisien.
Just hours earlier, an anonymous email is said to have gone around the school speaking of a "revolt".
The manifesto, reportedly seen by Le Parisien, spoke about eco issues.
Meanwhile, a teaching assistant was stabbed to death by a teenage student over a week ago.
The 31-year-old was stabbed several times outside the Françoise Dolto school, in north-east France.
She tragically died in hospital as a result of her injuries.
A 14-year-old pupil was arrested on suspicion of fatally stabbing the teacher who was leading a bag search outside the school at the time.
The victim - identified only as Melanie G - was mum to a four-year-old boy and has been described by locals as "adorable" with a "caring nature".

Ukrainian PoW with ‘Glory to Russia' BURNED on skin says sick ‘Calling Putin' torture method left him begging for death

A UKRAINIAN prisoner of war who had the words "Glory to Russia" burnt on his skin said he was left begging for death. Following his release in a prisoner swap earlier this year, Andriy Pereverzev has revealed disturbing details of his time in captivity, including sick torture method "Calling Putin". 7 7 The Ukrainian POW was captured in February 2024 on the battlefield after being severely wounded. Despite his pleas to just "end it" and "finish" him off, Pereverzev was carried to an encampment where he was brutally tortured. Speaking for the first time about his experience, Pereverzev told how he was mercilessly electrocuted by Vlad's troops seeking intelligence. He said: "While they were carrying me. I kept asking them, 'Finish me off. Just end it, but they didn't. "They used electric shocks on my open wounds a couple of times, and I started blacking out again. 'They stripped me, checked my wounds…..My buttock was shredded. 'Three hits to the head with a filled five litre plastic bottle. My hands were tied, my eyes were covered. That was their welcome. I fell, blacked out. 'They used electric shocks on my open wounds a couple of times, and I started blacking out again. "The guards came in and asked us to recite the Russian national anthem. 'Those who didn't know it were beaten until they couldn't get up.' I was stabbed and electrocuted by Russian Soldiers As well as being horrifically beaten, the POW described how he had the words "Glory to Russia" burned on his skin whilst in captivity. A disturbing photo emerged earlier this month showing the mutilated soldier. The phrase, written in Russian, has been branded sideways onto his right flank in large, uneven letters. Up the middle of the tortured soldier's torso is another thick, livid scar ragged by rough stick marks. He also has a tube fitted into his stomach, and another area of major scarring on his left flank. Referring to the moment he woke up in hospital after the grim procedure he recalled: '[A Russian nurse told me] Don't worry, when you get home you can remove it or get a tattoo over it. 'I had no idea what she was talking about. Absolutely none.' A week later, when his dressing was being changed by two Russian guards, he said he "gasped" when he saw his stomach for the first time. He said: 'I lifted my head just to look at my stomach and there it was 'Glory to Russia' burnt into my skin with a medical cautery tool. The surgeon did this to me.' When asked how he reacted to the gruesome discovery, Pereverzev told Kyiv-based project UNITED24: 'I said, you're all bastards. I'll shoot every one of you.' He was later beaten up, with one soldier "poking" his wounds with his finger. 7 7 "It hurt like hell," he said. Pereverzev also described another occasion when he was brutally tortured during an interrogation. He recalled: 'One guy was sitting at a table typing on a laptop while the other one was torturing me. 'He kept hitting me on the ears, punching the back of my head using a stun gun on me. 'They asked me where my wound was. I pointed to my leg. 'They ripped off the bandage and started electrocuting me right there directly into the wound. That went on for about 40 minutes.' Following his release, the Ukrainian POW also told how prisoners would often get wired to an old Soviet phone and their bodies surged with electricity. The sick torture tactic - dubbed "Calling Putin" -- has been known to inflict 80-volt electric shocks into the genitals of captives. He said: 'It's basically a regular old phone. Two wires are connected to it like clamps, and they can attach them to any part of your body. 'Then they crank the phone handle, lift the receiver, and there is this old Soviet style rotary dial on it. 'The higher the number, you dial from 0 to 9, the stronger the electric current. 'And with each number, the power increases a lot.' Last year there were reports of "Calling Putin" torture used on suspects in the Crucus City Hall massacre in which 145 died and 551 were wounded. In this case, Russian interrogators used a TA-57 military telephone attached to the suspect's genitals. When he finally returned home, Pereverzev said he had lost 35lbs and his nine-year-old daughter didn't recognise him. "I promised her then that no matter what condition I'd be in. Even without arms, without legs, I'd still come back," he said. 7 7

El Salvador threatens to send gangs to France over prison criticism

El Salvador has threatened to send some of its most notorious criminals to France . Nayib Bukele, the Central American country's president issued the grim warning after a Paris Fashion Week show criticised the treatment of inmates at one of the nation's mega prisons. Responding to a post on X in which models wore white T-shirts and shorts - resembling uniforms worn by inmates at the Terrorism Confinement Centre - Bukele slammed the designer and accused Paris of 'glorifying criminals'. In his rant, he said: 'We're ready to ship them all to Paris whenever we get the green light from the French government. He followed that post with another showing a woman crying after being harassed in Paris. Bukele captioned: 'This is the result of glorifying criminals in Paris. He who spares the wolf sacrifices the sheep'. His second tweet caught the attention of X founder Elon Musk, who reposted in agreement. The leader's press secretary said Bukele's response demonstrated his 'firm stance against the attempt to glorify criminality'. In the fashion show by Willy Chavarria, a Mexican-American designer, 36 men wearing the attire made in collaboration with the American Civil Liberties Union walked down the ramp. They then fell on their knees and bowed their heads - a callback to pictures from the prison after the government announced it would be harsher on gangs. Some models also wore T-shirts with America written upside down. Some commentators noted it was a way to emphasise his belief that El Salvador was heading in the wrong direction. The designer's political messaging began even before the fashion show started - his invitations were styled to look like immigration summons. It asked readers to attend to witness a 'presentation of humanity'. For years, El Salvador has grappled with gang-related violence, which has left several people dead . The murders, kidnappings, and extortion committed by gangs like the Mara Salvatrucha (MS-13) and the 18th Street Gang have led to the nation's reputation as one of the most dangerous in the world. However, when President Bukele took over power in 2019, he made it one of his missions to fight organised crimes and gangs. As part of his efforts, he opened CECOT, which now houses some of the most hardened criminals in the country. But human rights advocates have criticised the prison for its treatment of its inmates - some have said inmates are forced to live in inhumane conditions. Thousands of suspected gang members have been hauled to the prison in a desperate move to get them off the streets. Unlike many other prisons, visitations and recreation are not allowed in CECOT. Inmates also do not have access to education. Each of the 256 cells in the prison, located in Tecoluca, has around 156 inmates who are forced to sleep in metal bunk beds with no mattress or sheets. The inmates are made to share just two toilets and two sinks. CCTV cameras monitor the cell around the clock, while an artificial bright light stays on throughout the day and night. If an inmate is unfortunate enough to be sent into solitary confinement, they are forced to stay in a narrow pitch black cell with only a small ceiling hole providing a source of light. The only time prisoners can leave their cells is when they have a court hearing, which is often via video link. Their diet consists mainly of beans or pasta, as the government has forbidden meat. Violence in prison is commonplace as members of rival gangs are forced to co-exist with each other. Many of the prisoners will never be freed as they are serving between 100 to 200 years.
