Vinny horrified as major Emmerdale legend overhears private moment with Kammy

Metro7 days ago
A new friendship for Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) turned to confusion on Emmerdale recently when Vinny got carried away and tried to kiss his friend Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah).
Kammy is confident, relaxed and reckless – all the things Vinny isn't, basically. So when they spent an afternoon getting revenge on a delivery driver who'd made some pointed comments to Vinny, he was swept away by the excitement and fun they were having.
He leaned in to kiss Kammy, who didn't reciprocate. They then tried to brush the whole thing off as being a joke.
'Kammy isn't bothered about the kiss, he more feels for Vinny,' Shebz Miah confirmed. 'Kammy's so relaxed. Kammy's so confident in his sexuality. It's more that he wants to offer a helping hand, because it's a very tricky situation now that Vinny's in. We've got Gabs on one hand, then all the other stuff in Vinny's life and how does it affect that?'
With Vinny's wedding to Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) coming up soon, Vinny is now feeling incredibly anxious about what happened with Kammy, particularly after Gabby insists that Kammy is on the guest list for the wedding.
When Vinny has to take Gabby's car to the garage to be serviced, he can't avoid Kammy any longer. As they talk, Gabby passes by on the phone with Laurel (Charlotte Bellamy) and there's a glitch in the call that means Laurel can hear everything Kammy and Vinny are talking about.
It's not long before Laurel demands a private word with Vinny and he's naturally nervous about what Gabby's step-mum might be about to say.
Knowing that Gabby has previously had her heart broken when former fiancé Nicky Miligan (Lewis Cope) jilted her on their wedding day after admitting he was gay, Laurel is obviously worried that history could be about to repeat itself.
For Vinny's sake as much as Gabby's she begs him to consider carefully whether he's absolutely sure about the relationship with Gabby. She says if he has any doubts, he shouldn't go ahead.

Rosie Bentham told us that potentially Gabby would be more devastated if this wedding didn't happen than she was with Nicky. More Trending
'I think this one would hit even deeper because it is someone that she genuinely has feelings for and has developed a very strong connection with,' she reflected.
'I think if Vinny is questioning things and really struggling, some communication needs to happen. But this stuff with Kammy, I don't know how it would be initially received.

'I can imagine Gabby feeling really let down and this big wedding and everything she's expecting to happen, moving in together and him being such a father figure to Thomas – if that came crashing down I think she would really struggle.'

Casualty's Charles Venn discovered sister's tragic death while filming

EXCLUSIVE: Casualty actor Charles Venn has opened up about the family bond he shares with his co-stars and how they rallied around him during the most heartbreaking time Casualty star Charles 'Chucky' Venn has opened up about the heartbreak he faced while filming the hit BBC medical drama. On the show, Charles' character, paramedic Jacob Masters, is known for supporting his colleagues, but one day saw the roles reversed. Just two days before the 52-year-old was due to take annual leave from his work, he found out that his sister had tragically died. Despite the heartache he was facing, London-born Charles carried on with his filming commitments, with his pals, whom he describes as a family, rallying around him. ‌ When asked about the most challenging aspect of being on a medical drama, Charles told the Mirror: "It's about being switched on and delivering when the camera says 'action'. You might be all over the place in rehearsals, just figuring it out, mapping out what's going on and how you're going to deliver this. But when the camera rolls, you deliver because we're presenting a show for our audience. ‌ "We're humans like everybody else, and then we go through what we go through. Speaking for myself, I've had challenges and still somehow being able to deliver, that's the hardest challenge." Charles, bravely went on to add: "In my case, when my junior sister passed away, unexpectedly, this would have been three years ago on June 7. I was in my hotel room. I had to go to work the next day. She officially passed away around 4am. I had two days at work before I was due to go home. ‌ "In my insane mind, I thought I could get through those two days. I really thought I would. It was still very raw in my head and my brain. I came to work, I was subdued, anybody who knows me would tell you I'm lively, full of energy, but I was very subdued, and it was still reeling, what just happened was very raw. "I believe I got through the scene, I think I did, someone asked me 'Are you ok?' in my dressing room and of course, I wasn't. They were kind enough to let me go home. But it's the that same thing of despite what's going on, the challenges, being able to put that to the side and deliver a performance, play the scene, play what's required for the character to tell his story - that's the biggest challenge." ‌ Charles, who has also appeared on the likes of EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing, first burst onto Casualty on July 18, 2015, and since then, has become a firm favourite amongst fans and his colleagues. "I never foresaw that," he said of being on the show for a decade. He added: "It's such a familiar feeling here and you feel as though you're not going through anything on your own. There's always someone to talk to and that's beautiful, it's really refreshing, somewhat rare. Any changes, interfaceable, it doesn't matter. As a team, guaranteed, we'll get through it together." But one change his team has faced, Iain Dean and Teddy Gowan have left the paramedic station in hopes of joining the H.A.R.T team, leaving Jacob to work more closely with Jan Jenning and Indie Jankowski. "It's weird, no matter what, the show must go on," he said, adding: "They're now focused on that department. ‌ "I think in some ways, if Jacob's situation was different, he'd have probably jumped in as well. I still think he's as fit as any of those guys. I'll hold the fort while those guys do their things over there." One role that fans have taken to their hearts is Jacob's bond with student medic, Indie. "Indie, played by Naomi, she's a wonderful actress," he gushed. He added: "Since she came on board, she hit the ground running. Jacob almost views her like a little sister, it's that kind of fatherly role whenever she feels she may need. He's there for that, Naomi and I have really embraced that, whenever we see moments like that, we try to place weight on those moments. Once again, it goes back to camaraderie and a family-esque environment, work-wise. It can be testing and stressful working in a high-demand job as a paramedic because of all the things that you can encounter. ‌ "And seeing someone like Indie, who's still learning as she's going along, she's flawed, she makes mistakes – we all do but obviously her inexperience, her's are somewhat more pronounced." Although the show has never shied away from touching on serious topics that many experience, one close to Jacob's heart, is his son Blake's schizophrenia. "It's been eye-opening," Charles said of the storyline. He continued: "Eye-opening to the audience but it's eye-opening as well to myself and of course, the wonderful David Ajayi who plays Blake. It has been a real journey. On one hand, I enjoyed it but of course, at the same time, it can be harrowing. ‌ "David is such a wonderful visual actor that when he performs having an episode, a manic schizophrenic episode, it is very much an in your face kind of performance. And he's unrelenting when he does go into that mode. When you speak to David, he's the polar opposite of Blake, he's a transformative actor – it brings it even more home, the fact that he has to go to that place himself to really deliver. "It's been a great journey, a really powerful journey. I've really enjoyed working with him." This season, Supply and Demand, sees the emergency department and the paramedics battling the harrowing reality of opioid addiction, with a dodgy batch of heroin circulating. "We're somewhat used to dealing with these heavy, hard-hitting storylines," Charles explained, adding: "That's one of the magical qualities of Casuality, it's strength is in really having the stones face head on, difficult storylines, coercive control, men facing it, Covid-19, when it was very raw, the aftermath of that wretched time in our history. ‌ "And this mass drug overdose, drug shortage, the NHS being brought to its knees for a time. It's all of these things which are very raw and touch a nerve because people are going through this right now as we speak. So in this instance, with drug overdoses and unfortunate suicides and misadventures, it's tough. "I won't mention names but there are some people who are experiencing or have experienced situations close to home, so it is quite raw in that regard. It goes back to that family-esque environment that we have here. A lot of shoulders have been cried upon dealing with these issues." ‌ One situation that left Jacob torn, was Blake's schizophrenia medication being unavailable due to shortages, leading Jacob to look online for other solutions. He said: "As a father, that was difficult to watch. We as actors, we have to capitalise on those moments to bring as much truth as truth as we can to us to a scene. Yeah, when we were going through those scenes, it was it was hard." Charles hinted that upcoming episodes will see questions being asked. "These drug shortages really spill into areas it shouldn't be. I don't want to sound too cryptic but let's just say, fingers are going to be pointed at certain people. Accusations being made, that's going to lead to some frictitious circumstances and situations. Lines are being crossed, friends are going to be facing off." WWE icon defends Goldberg retirement match despite fans' health concerns

To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Goldberg is set to retire at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, with his last ever match getting underway in a matter of hours. The 58-year-old legend is challenging GUNTHER for the World Heavyweight Championship later tonight, and fellow WWE Hall of Famer Booker T is 'loving' that Goldberg is getting one final moment in the ring. Speaking exclusively to Metro, Booker said: 'I'm not surprised one bit, and I'm loving it because Bill Goldberg has been talking about having his last match. 'And one thing about us professional wrestlers, we always talk about it, man, 'I got one more run, and I got one last run'. And for Goldberg to be able to come back and finish it like this, with GUNTHER, it's not going to get any bigger than that.' Booker – who is a coach on WWE LFG (Legends and Future Greats) on US network A&E – acknowledged that not everyone is happy with him getting a title match just 17 months before his 60th birthday. The current NXT commentator argued: 'I know you got your your critics and your pundits out there, your armchair quarterbacks, talking about Goldberg. 'Why Goldberg, when you got all these other guys in line it could have been?' 'Well, those [younger] guys are going to be there, they're going to be there for a shot later on down the line after Goldberg come back – because this is show business.' He insisted that anyone thinking otherwise is 'missing the boat' on the point of the wrestling game. 'You're missing the boat on what we're doing in this business. If I got a chance as a promoter to use Goldberg on my show just one last time, it's his final run, I'm gonna do it,' he added. Some fans have also been concerned about Goldberg's physical state, as he appears to have been struggling with his movement in recent weeks, and has been open about the injuries he's suffered in recent months. In a new interview with CBS Sports, Goldberg confessed his 'old body' isn't in the best shape, as he's having issues with his knee. However, he added: 'I'm not going to miss the opportunity to put a stamp on my career, on my terms. It's a privilege, it truly is.' With Goldberg clearly willing and ready to go one more time, Booker insisted anyone in charge would 'do the same damn thing' as Paul 'Triple H' Levesque, given the chance to put on this match. 'If I got a chance to use The Rock, I'm gonna do it. If I got a chance to use Kurt Angle, you know I'm going to do it. That's the promoter's mentality,' he told us. 'And when I hear this armchair quarterbacks talking about 'why Goldberg?' They would do the same damn thing if they were in that position. Trust me. Trust me on that.' For all his critics, Goldberg has always had a special something for fans to latch onto, whether it's his intensity or his signature moves. More Trending Stars like Stephanie Vaquer – who is appearing at WWE Evolution this weekend – and LA Knight are doing that in their own way, and Booker T thinks the rookies on WWE LFG need to find what makes them stand out, while it's his role as a commentator to give them that boost. 'Sometimes they need a little bit of something extra. Back in the day, when I was a young guy coming up, doing the Spinneroonie and Mark Madden goes, 'Spinneroonie! Spinneroonie!' It becomes famous, it becomes a household deal, you know? I think you need that. And I'm just happy to be a part of the business still today.' Alex Horne teases major change for Taskmaster season 21 and 'special guest'

Taskmaster creator Alex Horne has teased a new series of the Bafta-winning Channel 4 comedy. Taskmaster creator Alex Horne has teased big changes in store for the Channel 4 programme's 21st season. For the uninitiated, the long-running comedy series sees a batch of five celebrities pitted against each other as they take on various bizarre tasks to be crowned the winner. ‌ From filling an egg cup with their own tears, attempting to make a bridge out of straws, rubbers and chewing gum, to hula hooping on stage in front of a live audience, or making a creepy nursery rhyme, Taskmaster really has seen it all. ‌ The series, hosted by Greg Davies and 'Little' Alex Horne as his assistant, first aired in 2019, and over that time has seen more than a hundred celebrities take part, including Munya Chawawa, Judi Love, Joe Lycett, Katherine Ryan and Bob Mortimer. The latest season featured Fatiha El-Ghorri, Jason Mantzoukas, Matthew Baynton, Rosie Ramsey and Stevie Martin battle it out, with Ghosts actor Mathew crowned the winner. And although season 20's line-up has only just been announced, with the series yet to air later this year, Alex has already teased the following instalment. ‌ In an interview with Radio Times , he shared: 'There are two things that are new. We're filming somewhere as well as the house – somewhere that's pretty mad." He then added: "And we have a special guest this series from somewhere exotic who you'll recognise. That's all I can say." ‌ He went on to tell the publication: "20's coming out soon. All going well. We're just in the middle of filming the next one and I'm still enjoying it. I'm still weirdly finding it exciting." Though there's no telling who that could be, fans were left delighted when the season 20 line-up dropped. ‌ It will see Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith and Sanjeev Bhaskar go head to head to be named champion, while a New Year 's special is also presumed to air, with past specials having seen the likes of Claudia Winkleman, Sir Mo Farah, Carol Vorderman, Martin Lewis and Rylan Clark take part. After a teaser showing the five new comedians filming a task for season 20, as part of the line-up announcement, fans were left delighted. One wrote: 'My prayers have been answered I have wanted maisie adam on taskmaster for so long.' ‌ Another said: 'Oh this is going to be GOOD!!' 'FINALLY REECE OH MY GOD IVE WAITED MY WHOLE LIFE FOR THIS,' a fourth commented. ‌ Meanwhile, Horrible Histories star Mathew reflected on his win in a recent interview with Metro, and revealed his plans to return. 'I'm just really happy. I was having so much fun…,' he shared. After a suggestion of returning for the Champion of Champions series, which has the previous winners battle it out against each other, he added: 'I did start thinking, oh, it would be really nice [to win] because winning means a repeat of the experience. The number one thing about winning is thinking, Oh, great, I get to go back. 'I guess the only sadness about getting to go back is that I won't be sat with those guys [the season 19 contestants] because they were so much fun.'
