
CM inaugurates Van Mahotsav, exhibition on eco-friendly products

While promoting the campaign 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Gupta said,"This is not just a celebration of tree planting, but a reflection of our collective responsibility towards mother Earth. It is a pledge to gift future generations the gift of life and greenery."
As part of the Van Mahotsav celebrations, a special two-day exhibition has been organised, featuring over 100 stalls showcasing a wide variety of species and eco-friendly products. From handcrafted Bonsai, medicinal and ornamental plants, to plants known for improving air quality, the exhibition offers an immersive green experience for the public. Another key feature is the Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary stall, exhibiting the rich biodiversity of the Aravalli range.
"The exhibition is open to the public for two days where everyone can get a free sapling to plant in their mothers' name under the Ek Ped Maa ke Naam 2.0 campaign," said a statement from the Delhi govt.

Chief minister Rekha Gupta inaugurated this year's Van Mahotsav event on Thursday at the Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan. She exhorted Delhi citizens to work alongside the government to transform the city from a 'gas chamber into a green capital'. 'The festival symbolises our joint responsibility towards our mother Earth. It is a resolution through which we want to give the gift of life and greenery to the future generations,' Gupta said. As part of the event, a two-day exhibition has also been organised at the Bharat Mandapam, in which over a hundred stalls showcasing different species of plants and eco-friendly products have been set up. Plants which improve air quality, medicinal and ornamental plants, and a varied range of handcrafted bonsai are on display. The Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary has also set up a stall showcasing the biodiversity of the Aravalli range. The Eco Task Force of the forest department has also set up a stall providing information about their environmental campaigns and tree plantation activities. Under the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam 2.0' campaign, all visitors of the exhibition will be given a free sapling by the Delhi government. Delhi chief secretary Dharmendra alos attended the inaugural event on Thursday, along with school students and other dignitaries.

"We have got 50 crore saplings for planting": UP CM Yogi Adityanath on 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative
Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], July 4 (ANI): Addressing the Mango Festival 2025 in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, on Friday, lauded the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' initiative and said that 50 crore saplings will be planted on July 9. CM Adityanath said, 'I remember that in 2017, when we organised the plantation campaign, I was unable to get even five crore saplings. Now, this time, when we are initiating a large plantation drive under the aegis of the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, which we will join on 9th July, we have got 50 crore saplings for planting.' He claimed that using modern technology, a farmer in Uttar Pradesh is earning a net profit of Rs 1 lakh per acre. 'Our farmer is earning a net profit of Rs 1 lakh in one acre. This shows that he has now started farming in a modern way; the result is visible to us. Similarly, there is new technology sugarcane,' the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister said. 'Right now, we have established some centres of excellence for this purpose. Agricultural Science Centres are working in a new way. And to advance these methods, now the Horticulture Department, along with the participation of the forest department and the private sector, has started the work,' he said. On the Mango festival, he said, 'There will also be various seminars here. Buyer and seller meet will be held, and progressive farmers and agricultural scientists will share their experiences.' Meanwhile, on Thursday, CM Yogi took part in the launch event of the 27 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLC). Sharing an X post, he wrote, 'Participated today in the event organised in Lucknow for the launching of 27 Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters (IMLC). I have full confidence that these Integrated Manufacturing and Logistics Clusters will play a significant role in transforming the landscape of expressways in the coming times, while also establishing 'New Uttar Pradesh' as a premier destination for industrial investment.'
