Wireless fans say it's 'not for weak' as 'packed like sardines' reality shown

Daily Mirror4 days ago
Wireless Festival returned for its 20th year with Canadian rapper Drake headlining all three days of the event at Finsbury Park, London, but one festival-goer has shared the claustrophobic reality
A Wireless festival-goer has declared the event 'isn't for the weak' after footage shows him in a tightly packed crowd and really struggling to move. The popular festival returned for the 20th year, taking over Finsbury Park in London.
For the first time, Wireless had one artist performing three set lists across the three days, seeing Canadian rapper Drake take to the stage on Friday, July 11, Saturday, July 12 and the final day of the hip hop festival, Sunday, July 13. The artist has been accompanied by an eclectic mix of special guests including Vanessa Carlton, Yeat, Central Cee and more.

More than 15,000 people are said to descend on London over the course of the three day weekend to catch artists including Summer Walker, Leon Thomas, kwn, Sailorr, Boy Better Know, BigXthaPlug and many more.

Festivals are known for being busy, bustling places with a large turnout of people keen to enjoy live music and the laidback atmosphere so commonly associated with such events.
One festival-goer has offered a 'nightmare' insight into their experience in the crowd, though - and it's not for the faint of heart.
In the claustrophobic clip, which was shared to TikTok, the Wireless fan can be seen standing in the crowd with other festival-goers closely packed around him.

He doesn't appear to have much room to move, as he extends one arm to record the moment while his other appears to be pinned to his side by his co-attendees. Fellow ticket holders also look as though they can't move, as the crowd sways and throbs as one.
Over the top of the footage, he penned: 'POV: you survived eight hours on your feet in 30°C heat, packed like sardines, getting shoved around whilst holding your bladder in'.

In the caption, he added: 'Wireless ain't for the weak'.
In the comments section, people shared their thoughts with the general consensus being that of dread over being in similar circumstances.
One person said: 'The heat, the BO, everyone's sweat on me, yeah hell NO' while another simply declared: 'Couldn't pay me to go'.

A third said: 'This is an actual nightmare, you'll never catch me in these places'. Someone else commented: 'Personal hell [crying laughing emoji] sat at home and saved all the videos so I was basically there lmao'.
Another shared: 'I no longer feel jealous that I wasn't there'.
Echoing such sentiments, another person said: 'This is my worst nightmare. I'd have to leave due to being over stimulated and wanting to fight everyone'.

One Wireless attendee shared: 'I literally felt like I was gonna pass out at one point, I had to move out of the crowd'.

And another festival-goer pondered: '[I don't know] how you guys did this, I was sat under a tree for half the day and still fought for my life'.
To which, the original poster replied: 'I don't even know how I [filmed] it, Wireless taught [me] resilience and strength'.
Another added: 'Like this is the part they don't be showing cos festivals are not for the weak'.
Wireless festival shared advice regarding the heat ahead of the festival. They said: "Stay hydrated. Wear suitable clothing for the hot weather - hat, sunglasses. Wear sunscreen - bottles of sunscreen up to 200ml are permitted. Sunscreen will also be available at medical and info points. Sealed water and soft drinks up to 500ml are permitted, one per person. Bring an empty plastic refillable bottle or coffee cup. Waterpoints will be available around the site. Metal bottles are not permitted into the festival."
Wireless Festival has been approached for a comment.

Seemingly simple brainteaser leaving Brits baffled but can you solve it?

Keep your mind sharp by tackling this animal-themed puzzle. Brainteasers are a great way to keep your mind sharp. If you take on these puzzles on a regular basis you can improve your cognitive function and problem solving ability. ‌ Research has suggested that this can lead to improved attention span and concentration levels. And they can be a fun activity for the whole family as you try and complete them before each other. ‌ They come in many different forms, from trying to work out the odd one out to locate a missing item in a landscape. Some of the trickier brainteasers involve finding something that's subtly disguised within a picture. ‌ While these may seem simple, they can prove the hardest challenges to crack. And one such puzzle is baffling Brits, with many unable to work out the goat-themed teaser shared by our sister title The Mirror. In the image below, you can see a goat eating some foliage in a countryside scene. However, this isn't just some lone animal, he has an owner. ‌ But the woman who owns the goat isn't quite as easy to find within the black-and-white drawing. And in order to solve the brainteaser, you've got to spot her within just five seconds to prove you have the "most attentive" eyes. So if you're ready to take on the challenge and prove you've got 20/20 vision, then go ahead and get started. If you've missed the five-second limit and are just keen to try and find the woman, then keep going. ‌ We can't give you too much help because most helpful hints would effectively hand you the answer. Zooming in on the image might help though. If you think you've cracked it and want to confirm - or you've decided to give up and are desperate to find out - we will be revealing the answer below. ‌ The head of the owner can be seen behind the goat, made up of the space between the animal and a nearby tree, which is actually her hair. Don't worry if you didn't quite manage it this time, or if it took you longer than five seconds. Trying brainteasers like this more regularly is the key to honing your skills. With that in mind, we've got a few more that you can challenge yourself to complete. ‌ Keeping with the animal theme, this real-life puzzle asks you to find the toy duck this mum's daughter dropped during a family trip to the seaside - but there's a twist. Meanwhile, this image challenges you to work out which woman is the boy's real mum. ‌ For more time-sensitive puzzles, can you solve this Irish-themed puzzle in 60 seconds? Connie Francis, beloved singer, dies at 87 after hospitalization

Connie Francis has died aged 87, it has been reported. The legendary pop and country singer's death was confirmed by her friend Ron Roberts on Thursday, just weeks after Connie was admitted to hospital in Florida. In a statement shared on Facebook, Ron penned: 'It is with a heavy heart and extreme sadness that i inform you of the passing of my dear friend Connie Francis last night. I know that Connie would approve that her fans are among the first to learn of this sad news. More details will follow later.' Her sad passing comes shortly after her 1962 song Pretty Little Baby went viral on TikTok , putting her back in the charts for the first time in over 60 years. As news of her death circulated, tributes came flooding in from fans on X (formerly Twitter ) as they expressed their sadness at her loss. Fans penned: 'So sad to hear about the great Connie Francis. Paying musical tribute during the Heritage Chart Breakfast many great on Your Collar, Where The Boys Are, Stupid Cupid, V.A.C.A.T.I.O.N, Whose Sorry Now & many, many more. Terrific career. Listened to so many of her records over the years and my Mum used to sing her songs beautifully. R.I.P Connie Francis!' Earlier this month, TMZ reported that Connie had been admitted to a Florida hospital, though the reason for her hospitalization wasn't known at the time. It was said that she was admitted to the intensive care unit after experiencing 'extreme pain'. She had reportedly been dealing with orthopedic health issues over the last few years, which doctors had been monitoring regularly. At the time, the performer, who was said to have been confined to a wheelchair amid her pain, was forced to cancel an appearance on Cousin Brucie's Independence Day radio show. Addressing her absence on his show, Connie later penned on Cousin Bruce's Facebook announcement: 'I had hoped to take part in Brucie's show for Independence Day, having had to cancel a previous slot a few weeks ago when receiving treatment on my hip. Sadly, I had to let him know that I again had to withdraw. My thanks for your many get well soon messages. I will endeavor to keep you updated. Love, Connie.' Shortly afterwards, Connie confirmed she had been moved from intensive care to a 'private room' following a series of tests, with the star going on to thank her fans for their well wishes. Born Concetta Rosa Maria Franconero into a large Italian family, the singer was encouraged by her family to perform at an early age. She changed her name to Connie Francis on a suggestion during an audition for Arthur Godfrey's Talent Scouts, appearing on NBC's Startime Kids as a teenager. While she had minor success in her 20s with singles such as The Majesty of Love and You, My Darlin', You,' she considered leaving music for a career in medicine. At the insistence of her father, she recorded a cover of the 1923 song Who's Sorry Now in late 1957, which would sell over 1 million copies in 1958. She recorded a slew of hit records throughout the 1960s, though her [sexual assault] in a Jericho, New York hotel lead her into more than a decade of seclusion and refuge. She won a landmark $2.5 million judgment that lead to widespread changes in hotel security. A decade after her assault, she wrote the autobiography Who's Sorry Now, which became a New York Times bestseller. The singer was also once linked to crooner Bobby Darin. Her 1984 memoir even has two chapters dedicated to the 'Mack the Knife' singer. She returned to recording and performing in 1989 and wrote another autobiography - Among My Souvenirs - before retiring in 2018. Her work was rediscovered earlier this year with millions of fans lip syncing the catchy 1962 song Pretty Little Baby on TikTok, making it a viral hit six decades later. She told People in March, 'To tell you the truth, I didn't even remember the song! I had to listen to it to remember. To think that a song I recorded 63 years ago is touching the hearts of millions of people is truly awesome. It is an amazing feeling,' she added. Kylie Jenner and Kim Kardashian's daughter North even got in on the fun, as Francis added, 'It's an honor. To see that they're paying homage to me is just breathtaking.'
