Ed Sheeran Announces 2026 Australian & New Zealand Loop Tour Dates
Sheeran announced a new run of tour dates on Tuesday (July 22), with the eleven-show visit to Oceania set to take place from January to March 2026. 'Starting a brand new tour next year called the LOOP tour,' Sheeran wrote on Instagram. 'New stage, new tricks, new set up, new songs and all the classics added in.'

The tour will see the musician performing at stadiums across the New Zealand cities of Auckland, Wellington, and Christchurch. Sheeran will then head west for Australian stadium dates in Perth, Sydney, Brisbane, and Melbourne, before wrapping up with a show at South Australia's Adelaide Oval.
The tour comes just shy of two months before the release of Sheeran's eighth album, Play, which is scheduled to arrive on Sept. 12. That release date occurs just days after Sheeran wraps up his current +–=÷× Tour (also dubbed the Mathematics Tour), which closes with three dates in Düsseldorf, Germany – almost three-and-a-half years after he first began the trek.
Sheeran's Australian and New Zealand return will mark his first visit to the countries since February and March 2023. That tour also saw Sheeran break attendance records at the Melbourne Cricket Ground where, across two performances, he played to 217,500 fans. The two shows each broke the previous attendance record set by Sheeran collaborator Eminem, who played to 80,708 fans at the venue in 2019.
News of the upcoming run of tour dates has been expected for some time, with Sheeran taking to his private Teddy's Vinyl Breakfast Instagram account in May to respond to fans asking about his 2026 plans. 'Oz/NZ top of next year, then Latam, then USA,' Sheeran responded at the time.

Ed Sheeran is convinced his family will need round-the-clock security protection until he dies. The pop star - who lives on a sprawling estate in Suffolk with his wife Cherry and their two children - has round-the-clock security protection in place and he's convinced they will need bodyguards "until I pass away" because of the "sinister" incidents that have taken place. During an appearance on Australia's 60 Minutes show, Ed explained: "It's things that people don't really even take into account. "Like kidnap threats and s*** like that. We've had attempted break-ins, things left on my car. It's way more sinister than just fans turning up and wanting selfies. "We have a level of security that probably won't change until I pass away. That's just our life now." Ed went on to confess he's also had some ugly rows with fans who have tried to take pictures while he's with his kids, Lyra, four, and Jupiter, three. He added: "I've had some real arguments before. I'm fine with taking pictures, but I just think it's weird with a four-year-old and a three-year-old ... "To be within the public sphere, you have to take it all, the good and the bad. But I think I would definitely want a more normal life for my kids ... "I want to still tour and have people come to the gigs and yes, I still want to make records and write songs every day. "But there's just a new set of challenges that I want to explore now, and that is having a family and being a dad." Ed previously revealed he stepped up security measures to protect his family after a "couple of weird things" have happened including an attempted break-in. During an appearance on The Louis Theroux Podcast, Ed explained: "I do think that there is a different kind of normal that is our business. I have like 24-hour security on my house. I have security with my kids. "I have security with me. I have security with my wife, just because there have been a couple of weird things over the years that have happened.' Just so you know there's lots of dangerous people out there. We've had like you know a break-in attempt. "In my industry, that's normal. That's kind of like an underlying thing that no one really talks about, but that is kind of a part of being in the public eye." Ed also revealed he rarely takes his children on outings in public because he's so concerned about them being photographed. He added: "I'm very, very private about my children's image ... I can't take them to zoos or parks or anything really without someone trying to film them. "There are times where the normal parts of life I kind of mourn for and wish I could push my kid on a swing in a public park and it not be weird, you know? ... "People go, well that's the trade-off. But my kids have not signed up to that."

Jack Conan reveals video from Katie Taylor inspired Lions before second Test win
Jack Conan has revealed that an inspiring video from Irish boxing great Katie Taylor helped the British and Irish Lions find the resilience needed to close out their series against Australia. Taylor, an Olympic gold medal winner and current undisputed world super lightweight champion, sent the good luck message to Andy Farrell's squad in the build-up to Saturday's second Test at Melbourne Cricket Club. The 39-year-old's words on the ability to dig deep turned out to be prophetic as the Lions emerged 29-26 winners after fighting back from an 18-point deficit. 'The video was unbelievably poignant and powerful. It spoke about being prepared to win with skill, but also being ready to win by will,' said Ireland number eight Conan, who like Taylor hails from Bray in County Wicklow. 'That was something that was massively summed up in the game because we were not at our best at all. 'It's huge because she comes from the town I'm from. I'm incredibly proud of where I come from and I know Katie is as well. 'She's gone on to achieve incredible feats in the boxing world. To be such a superstar, incredibly humble and driven is something that we leant on as well because we knew that Australia are a hugely proud nation and they showed it in spades. 'Everyone loved it, even the English and the Scottish boys and the Welsh boy – it resonated with everyone. It was unbelievably poignant, it was class. It really hit home for us.' It took a beautifully-taken try by Hugo Keenan with 51 seconds remaining to separate the rivals in one of the greatest Lions matches ever played. Remarkably, Keenan's touchdown was the first time they led in the match. Conan admits that victory tastes all the sweeter for having been taken to the wire as Australia raised their game to a whole new level a week after starting the series with a whimper in Brisbane. 'We were not at our best by any measure, but physically the lads dug in unbelievably well,' he said. 'It was disappointing how we played, but we played for 80 minutes. Hugo getting over the line in the last minute was just unbelievable. 'It wasn't my best game. A lot of us weren't at the races at all, but we stuck in there. You can't fault the effort. I thought the defensive sets we put in, just whacking people and just staying in there, was unbelievable. 'It's something that will go down in history. They won't be writing the history books about how s*** we were, but they'll say that we won and that's all that matters. 'Everyone's over the moon. To be part of a Lions winning series team is incredibly special. The celebrations in the changing room wouldn't have been the same if we'd won by 20.'
