
DRM inspects railway sidings, infra at NTPC, Simhadri
The DRM focused on critical safety protocols related to rake handling, the discharge system at the siding, and the mobility of train operations within the NTPC premises. Special emphasis was given to track and electrification maintenance, as well as streamlining operational challenges to enhance overall efficiency.
During the visit, Mr. Lalit Bohra held a high-level meeting with Executive Director of NTPC Simhadri, Sameer Sharma. The discussions focused on improving infrastructure and maintenance activities, increasing rake availability, and reducing operational constraints to optimise operations.
The DRM also conducted safety inspection at the Level Crossing (LC) gate in Jaggayyapalem, near NTPC. He reviewed safety procedures, inspected various records and interacted with the gateman to assess his knowledge and preparedness of various safety practices.

RRB NTPC Admit Card 2025: How to download when released?
The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) are expected to release the RRB NTPC Admit Cards 2025 soon for the upcoming Computer-Based Test (CBT-1) for Non-Technical Popular Categories (Under Graduate). As per the official notice, the admit cards or e-call letters will be made available for download four days prior to the respective exam dates. Once released, candidates will be able to download their admit cards from the regional RRB websites such as and others. The first stage CBT for CEN 06/2024 is scheduled to be held from August 7 to September 9, over a period of 19 days. The link to view the exam city and date along with the facility to download travel authority for SC/ST candidates is already active on the official websites of all RRBs. Step 1: Visit the official Railway Recruitment Board website or the regional RRB portal through which you applied. Step 2: On the homepage, click on the link titled CEN 06/2024 (NTPC-UG): CBT-1 City-Intimation & E-Call Letter. Step 4: Enter your Registration Number (User ID), Password (Date of Birth in DD-MM-YYYY format), and the Captcha Code. Step 5: Click on the submit button. Your admit card will appear on the screen. Step 6: Download and print at least two copies of the admit card. Carry a hard copy to the examination centre on the day of the test. The RRB, in one of its notice has stated that for candidates who do not remember their registration credentials, the regional website also provides an option to retrieve the application number or reset the password using the 'Forget Password' link on the login page. The RRB NTPC CBT-1 exam will be a computer-based test comprising 100 multiple-choice questions for a total of 100 marks. The exam will be conducted over 90 minutes and will include three sections: General Awareness (40 questions for 40 marks) Mathematics (30 questions for 30 marks) General Intelligence and Reasoning (30 questions for 30 marks) There will be a negative marking of 1/3 mark for every incorrect answer. The test is designed to assess the candidate's aptitude, reasoning ability, and awareness of general subjects relevant to the NTPC roles.

2 coaches of Jan Sadharan Express derail near Kanpur
1 2 Kanpur: Two coaches of the Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati Jan Sadharan Express (15269) derailed between Kanpur and Tundla in Uttar Pradesh on Friday afternoon. The derailment occurred near Bhaurpur outer area near Kanpur while the train was switching to the loop line at point and line number four to give passage to two passing trains. The slow speed of the train averted a major derailment, said rail officials. About 15 passengers sustained minor injuries. The up track remained closed for three hours, brining 12 trains to halt at nearby stations. Senior railway officials and emergency response teams reached the site and carried out relief operations. The Sabarmati Jansadharan Express had reached Kanpur Central Station at 3:07pm on Friday, more than two hours behind its scheduled arrival of 12:50pm. Following a brief 10-minute stop, it proceeded onwards. Around 4:15pm, while being directed to the loop line near Bhaurpur station's outer yard, the sixth and seventh coaches derailed. Loco pilot Chaman Ahmed and loco inspector Sunil Sharma from Tundla were operating the engine during the incident. The derailment caused complete disruption of the up track. Railway operations continued on the down track. Senior railway officials, including NCR general manager Upendra Joshi, DRM Rajneesh Agrawal and central station director Ashutosh Singh, visited the site. Several trains were diverted after the derailment. The Lucknow Junction Swarna Shatabdi Express was redirected from Unnao Junction to Delhi via Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad. The Bikaner Superfast Express was diverted through Bhimsen, Jhansi-Agra Cantt-Bandikui, while the North East Express was rerouted via Kanpur Central-Lucknow-Moradabad-Ghaziabad. NCR chief PRO Shashikant Tripathi said helpline numbers were established. Normal service on the up track was expected to resume soon.

Railways launches cleanliness drive ahead of I-Day
Madurai: Indian Railways has launched a nationwide three-month dual-phase cleanliness drive, in which various activities and awareness programmes will be held to encourage environmental responsibility and hygiene among both railway staff and the public. In Madurai, the campaign was inaugurated on Friday at the divisional railway manager's (DRM) office. The event was presided over by DRM Om Prakash Meena. To mark the occasion, railway staff at various stations, including Madurai Junction, Karaikudi, Dindigul, and Tenkasi, took a Swachhata pledge, reaffirming their commitment to the Swachh Bharat Mission . At Madurai Junction, an awareness programme was organised by scouts and guides, alongside a rally conducted by sanitary workers to promote hygiene. The drive will be conducted in two phases: Phase I from Aug 1 to 15, focusing on the removal of garbage and waste from station premises, platforms, and tracks, and phase II from Aug 16 to Oct 31, which will emphasise cleanliness in trains, stations, and other railway establishments.
