Clemson football 2026 target, 4-star DL Bryce Perry-Wright announces commitment

Yahoo13 hours ago
The Clemson Tigers and coach Dabo Swinney had long been considered the favorite to land elite four-star defensive lineman Bryce Perry-Wright in the 2026 recruiting cycle.
But on Saturday, Perry-Wright announced he was committing elsewhere. The 6-foot-2, 250-pound lineman is headed to College Station to play for Texas A&M after a late push by the Aggies this week.

Perry-Wright announced his decision in a live stream on 247Sports' YouTube channel. The Texas Longhorns and Miami Hurricanes were the other finalists for Perry-Wright.
It's a disappointing loss for Clemson on the recruiting trail after a hot stretch in June when the Tigers added five commitments: four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil (Clayton, North Carolina), four-star EDGE Dre Quinn (Buford, Georgia), three-star defensive lineman JR Hardrick (South Pittsburg, Tennessee), and four-star offensive linemen Leo Delaney and Carter Scruggs.
Perry-Wright is the nation's No. 2 defensive lineman in 247Sports' player ratings for the 2026 class and is ranked as the No. 32 overall recruit. Rivals ranks him the No. 5 lineman and the No. 33 overall recruit.
Perry-Wright had received a crystal ball prediction to sign with Clemson in late March, but Rivals recruiting expert Steve Wiltfong logged a prediction on Wednesday that the Peach State native would flip to Texas A&M.

🤯 Defenders like training cones, Messi scores vintage goal

We've known that the Major League Soccer is quite a distance away from the level of the top European leagues, at least since the Club World Cup. However, one player is still in a class of his own in the league: Lionel Messi. The Miami star scored twice in the first league game after the 0:4 round of 16 exit at the Club World Cup against PSG. In particular, his 4:1 against Club de Foot Montreal reminded us of the old times. Messi still makes his opponents look like slalom poles. Could he still do that in Europe? Nuggets Fans Excited After New Al Horford Report

Nuggets Fans Excited After New Al Horford Report originally appeared on Athlon Sports. So many of the free agent dominoes have fallen that Boston Celtics center Al Horford is one of the biggest names still available on the open market. As it turns out, it's still unclear what his plans are this offseason. Advertisement Reports have tied him to the Golden State Warriors, but nothing is set in stone. The San Francisco Chronicle's Sam Gordon reported that Horford is not expected to make a decision on his next team over the weekend. "Horford is a prime target for the Warriors, league sources confirmed to the Chronicle, but the five-time All-Star big man ... isn't expected to make a decision this weekend," Gordon wrote. Boston Celtics center Al Horford (42)Peter Casey-USA TODAY Sports While Horford remains linked to Golden State, this new report about him remaining undecided could be good news for the Denver Nuggets, who are currently dealing with the potential fallout from the Jonas Valanciunas situation. Advertisement While Denver acquired Valanciunas from the Sacramento Kings, he reportedly wants to leave the NBA to go overseas to play for the Greek professional basketball team, Panathinaikos, which BasketNews' Donatas Urbonas first reported. If Valanciunas follows through on those plans, the Nuggets could turn to Horford as Nikola Jokic's backup center. Following the report that Horford remains undecided, Nuggets fans were ecstatic to find out they still have a chance. "Oh he's definitely a nugget," one wrote. "That means the nuggets still have a chance!" another proclaimed. "He's waiting on us," said one Nuggets fan. Advertisement "This 100 percent screams that Horford is waiting to see what happens between Valanciunas and the Nuggets," another wrote. "He wants to be a nugget," one believed. "He's a Nugget," said another. HoopsHype's Michael Scotto confirmed Denver was among the teams interested in Horford on June 30.
