Nassourdine Imavov vs. Caio Borralho headlines UFC Paris in September
Nassourdine Imavov will headline UFC Paris for the first time.
Imavov (16-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC) takes on Caio Borralho (17-1 MMA, 7-0 UFC) in the Sept. 6 main event at Accor Arena in Paris, promotion officials announced Monday.
Imavov initially intended on serving as the official backup for the middleweight title fight between champion Dricus Du Plessis and Khamzat Chimaev Aug. 19 in the UFC 319 main event from Chicago. However, he has now opted to take another fight against Borralho, who has been calling him out for a while.

Imavov is coming off his biggest win to date, a knockout of former champion Israel Adesanya at UFC Fight Night 250. Borralho hasn't competed since a Fight of the Night main event win over Jared Cannonier at UFC on ESPN 62 last August. The 32-year-old Brazilian is unbeaten in his past 17 fights.

Beneil Dariush exits UFC 317 with victory but mixed emotions: 'I'm frustrated'
LAS VEGAS – Beneil Dariush was still processing his UFC 317 win over Renato Moicano as he spoke to reporters backstage at T-Mobile Arena. Admittedly, he struggled to put into words the mix of emotions he felt after his unanimous decision victory. "I'm feeling fine," Dariush told MMA Junkie and other reporters. "I'm frustrated. I've already said I'm frustrated, so I'll try to stop saying it. I feel fine. I just keep replaying that first round in my head and it just makes me more angry." The fight was Dariush's first since December 2023. It had been 18 months between fights. Dariush (23-6-1 MMA, 17-6-1 UFC) avoided an early scare from Moicano (20-7-1 MMA, 12-7 UFC) and rallied to win Round 2 and 3. Despite getting the nod from all three judges, Dariush couldn't shake the memory of nearly being put away in the opening five minutes. "It's good to have that dog in you, like they say," Dariush said. "... I just felt like in the first round I was landing leg kicks. I was landing high kicks. My hands were somewhat landing, and then I get dropped, so it's frustrating. Then in Round 2, to be honest, the game plan was to shoot. I was supposed to take him down in the first round. It's frustrating because you don't follow the game plan that you set. You lose the round because of it. Then, you go to Round 2 and you're just so mad you're not thinking about game plans any more. You're just thinking about finding ways to win. The more I played it over in my head, it's better if I internalize it than I try externalize it, because it just doesn't sound good when I speak." Dariush said regardless of the outcomes of his fights, he tries to compartmentalize the results and put them in perspective in the bigger scheme of his life and faith. But fighting does motivate him greatly. At 36, he's still gunning for championship gold. Saturday's win snapped a two fight skid, and steered his momentum around. "I know I'm old, but man this felt like my first fight. I felt like there's so much to learn," Dariush said. "It felt good to be the last old man standing. But I don't plan on going anywhere anytime soon. ... You could be doing this forever. But if your heart is not in it and you're not focused and you don't have a desire to be a champion, leave. I have a desire to be champion. I would not be here just to fight just for another fight. If it was just for money, I wouldn't be here. It's to be champion. God put a desire in me, and that's what I want."

Video: Sean Strickland rushes cage, punches regional fighter in head after taunt
A post shared by Tuff-N-Uff The Future 🌟 of MMA (@tuffnuff) Sean Strickland threw punches inside the cage Sunday in Las Vegas and he wasn't even scheduled to fight. At Tuff-N-Uff 145, Strickland cornered teammate Miles Hunsinger against Luis Hernandez in a battle of unbeaten middleweights. As Hunsinger (7-1) grabbed hold in the clinch, he stuck his neck out too far and got caught in a standing guillotine choke by Hernandez (6-0). While he had the choke on, Hernandez stuck his tongue out in the direction of Hunsinger's corner, which included Strickland and fellow UFC fighter Chris Curtis. Immediately following the tap, Hernandez taunted Hunsinger's corner again with middle fingers and a pair of obscene gestures toward his crotch. Strickland and Curtis immediately stormed the cage. While Curtis grabbed hold of Hernandez, Strickland threw two over-the-top right hands that connected on Hernandez. Commission and promotion officials intervened before more chaos could ensue. Given Strickland was a licensed cornerman for the event, the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) could suspend his license as not only a "second" (cornerman), but also as a fighter. It's unclear at this time if Strickland will face any disciplinary action.

Alexandre Pantoja Opens As Betting Favorite Over Joshua Van
LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 28: (L-R) Joshua Van of Myanmar faces off with Alexandre Pantoja of Brazil ... More in the UFC flyweight championship bout during the UFC 317 event at T-Mobile Arena on June 28, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) The next UFC flyweight title fight looks like it will pit champion Alexandre Pantoja against Joshua Van after both men won on Saturday's UFC 317 pay-per-view card in Las Vegas. UFC 317: Alexandre Pantoja And Joshua Van Triumph LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 28: (L-R) Joshua Van of Myanmar shales hands with Alexandre Pantoja of ... More Brazil in the UFC flyweight championship bout during the UFC 317 event at T-Mobile Arena on June 28, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) Pantoja (30-5) defended his UFC flyweight title for the fourth time with a third-round submission win over Kai Kara-France in the UFC 317 co-main event. Meanwhile, one fight before that, Van (15-2) seemed to punch his ticket to a title fight with a decision win over former title challenger and No. 1 ranked contender Brandon Royval. Pantoja made a statement on Saturday night. He shut down Kai Kara-France's striking efforts through forward pressure, excellent ground control, patience, and incredible situational awareness. If Pantoja can get his opponent to the mat, he is almost impossible to deal with. With his win over Kara-France, Pantoja has now defended the UFC flyweight title four times and is riding an eight-fight winning streak. At 35, the one thing that could slow Pantoja is age, but judging from his performance at UFC 317, I wouldn't expect that to happen any time soon. I had my worries about Van heading into UFC 317. He had fought earlier this month, beating Bruno Silva with ease at UFC 316. With that win, Van broke into the official flyweight rankings. A few days after that victory, Van agreed to face Royval at UFC 317, replacing an injured Manel Kape. My concerns were that the 23-year-old Van was biting off more than he could chew so early in his UFC career. On the other hand, Van had nothing to lose by fighting Royval and a lot to gain. A loss would give him big-time fight experience and the ability to work on gaps in his game. A win, and Van would be in the running for a title shot. Van handled himself well against the more experienced Royval, starting aggressive and then used his speed, accuracy, power, and athleticism to effectively counter Royval when he became the aggressor in the second round of their three-round matchup. I won't say Van fought a perfect fight, but he landed 66 percent of his significant strikes, countered well, and scored a knockdown late in the contest. It would be hard to give Van any grade other than an "A" for how well he performed in picking up the win in what will be a contender for "Fight of the Year" at the end of 2025. The UFC brought Van into the Octagon to face off with Pantoja following Pantoja's win over Kara-France. Alexandre Pantoja Vs. Joshua Van Opening Betting Odds When BetOnline listed the opening odds for the potential UFC flyweight title fight between Pantoja and Van, the champion was a -190 favorite over the +165 challenger. Today, Pantoja is listed at -215 to Van's +185. Alexandre Pantoja On Joshua Van LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 28: (L-R) Joshua Van of Myanmar talks to Alexandre Pantoja of Brazil in the ... More UFC flyweight championship bout during the UFC 317 event at T-Mobile Arena on June 28, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) "When I was 23, I was working in the restaurant, cleaning dishes," Pantoja said at the UFC 317 post-fight press conference. "Look at that. The guy is 23 and going to fight for the belt, for the world championship. I think this guy is going to be my toughest challenger. He's young. He's hungry and he doesn't make wars like I did in the past. I did my 35th professional fight tonight. That's a lot of wars I passed through with a lot of very good fighters. The UFC gives me this new guy. I think everybody wants to see the new. No more rematches for me. I want to fight with that guy, too. I want that challenge to fight with the new blood, with a new kid." "I found a couple fights from Joshua Van," Pantoja added. "He does an amazing job with Rei Tsuruya. He defended all the takedowns. He beat (Bruno Silva) in the last fight. He got this opportunity to fight the No. 1 contender, Royval, and did an amazing job. Who can do that? Now, I think that's my toughest challenge. Monday, I'm back to the gym. My coaches know that. I'm no more the champion of the world. I'm the challenger. I know who is my opponent and I know what I want. I want this belt again." Joshua Van On Alexandre Pantoja LAS VEGAS, NEVADA - JUNE 28: (L-R) Joshua Van of Myanmar faces off with Alexandre Pantoja of Brazil ... More in the UFC flyweight championship bout during the UFC 317 event at T-Mobile Arena on June 28, 2025 in Las Vegas, Nevada. (Photo by Jeff Bottari/Zuffa LLC) "I just watched his fight to watch because I never studied him," Van said of Pantoja. "I'm like, one fight at a time. After this, we go back and we're going to study him. This is a new era of fighting. ... The legacy that he has in this division, just beating him is just going to be greater for my legacy, too." "You know my takedown defense is on point, too," Van added. "He's never fought Joshua Van. Soon, we're going to find out. ... I'm Joshua Van. I don't fight like these guys. It's going to be a whole different fight." UFC 317 took place at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The UFC has not officialy announced Pantoja vs. Van as the next UFC flyweight title fight.
