Report: WWE Has Discussed Turning Top NXT Talent Heel
Last month, Blake Monroe (FKA AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May) made her WWE NXT debut to much fanfare. It appeared at the time that the company had big plans for her as a babyface. But that has seemingly changed.
According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp (via Fightful Select), a heel run for Blake Monroe is already being discussed in NXT.
While Sapp isn't sure when the turn will take place, it was discussed to take place in the 'near future.' Monroe had successful runs as both a heel and a babyface while part of the AEW roster.
Despite it seeming like WWE is unsure what to do with Monroe, there are reportedly long-term plans for her character in NXT.
Stay tuned to WrestleZone for more information as it becomes available.

Nikki Garcia returns to WWE following divorce fallout, pushes for Bella Twins reunion
Nikki 'Bella' Garcia is making her long-awaited return to the WWE ring this weekend at Evolution — but for the WWE Hall of Famer, the comeback won't feel complete without her twin sister Brie by her side. 'She better join me. I mean, it's the only way I sometimes feel like I can win is if I have her,' Garcia said during an appearance on 'Live with Kelly and Mark' on Tuesday, July 8, where she promoted Evolution, WWE's first all-women's pay-per-view event since 2018. 'The fans are speaking really loudly — our Bella Army — they really want Brie back,' she added. 'And I really want her back. I feel like this comeback won't be complete until the Bella Twins are together. So, it'll be iconic.' Nikki is returning to the ring for the first time in six years to compete in the 2025 WWE Evolution at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Sunday, July 13. The winner earns a shot at the women's championship next month at WWE Clash in Paris. 'I think once you're a professional athlete or wrestler, it's just always in you,' Garcia said. 'You always crave it and we're kind of adrenaline junkies — we thrive on that.' While TMZ Sports reported Brie was in talks to return, she has denied being contacted. Her last match was in the 2022 Royal Rumble. Nikki, inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame alongside Brie in 2020, returned earlier this year and is now eyeing another title run. Her return follows a turbulent chapter in her personal life. In December, Garcia opened up on her podcast 'The Nikki & Brie Show,' about her divorce from former 'Dancing With the Stars' pro Artem Chigvintsev, whom she met in 2017 while still engaged to John Cena. Garcia filed for divorce last August, two weeks after Chigvintsev was arrested at their Yountville home in a domestic violence case. Prosecutors declined to file charges, and the couple settled privately in November. 'It's been really tough,' she said at the time. 'You dream of having this family, and you have this incredible love, and it just goes the other way.' 'It's incredible because the first Evolution we had was history-making,' she said. 'So for it to come back six years later is incredible.'

Country singer Pat Green's family members missing in deadly central Texas floods
Country singer Pat Green has revealed that members of his family are among the missing in the floods that hit central Texas over the last week, calling it a "heartbreaking and deeply personal loss." "We are grieving alongside countless Texans whose lives have been upended by this tragedy," he wrote on Instagram on Monday. "Right now, we kindly ask for privacy and space as we mourn, support each other, and begin to process what comes next for our family." Green's wife, Kori Green, added that the "I Love Texas" singer's younger brother "John, his wife, Julia, and two of their children were swept away in the Kerrville flood. We are heartbroken and anxiously waiting for all of them to be found. Thank you for your prayers." Green postponed a concert last Sunday amid the flooding, writing on the Fourth of July on his Facebook page, "Due to the unforeseen weather and tragedy around the Texas Hill Country, it has been decided to postpone tomorrow night's show," adding that the new date will be on Aug. 16. More than 100 people have died in Texas after a storm caused flash flooding in the central part of the state, including 27 children at a summer camp, while dozens remain missing. Green received an outpouring of support on his social media, with followers writing, "Y'all haven't been far from our minds. Continuing to pray," "sending love and prayers," and "Praying for peace and comfort for y'all during this absolutely devastating tragedy!" Texas native Matthew McConaughey has been urging people on social media to help "where and how you can." "It's gonna be a long road ahead, but right now the shock, the pain, and the chaos need the steady hand of a neighbor," he wrote on Monday on his Instagram. The "Dallas Buyers Club" star added, "Texans are some of the most resilient and generous people on the planet."
