Rangers entertain the Greek side at Ibrox in the first leg of the Champions League second qualifying round tie later this month before the second leg in Greece.
Panathinaikos are currently preparing for the clashes by doing their pre-season preparations in Austria.
They easily beat Ukrainian outfit Metalist 3-0 in a friendly.
And boss Vitoria was happy with the way they are building up to the massive games against Russell Martin's side.
He said: "I was very pleased with that performance, given it was our first match of the new season.
"I think the team was quite good on its defensive side of the game, in terms of being solid.
"And we pressed high up, which is what I wanted them to do.
"It led to us stealing some balls and we managed to score goals from it.
"What I think we lacked a little was greater urgency when we had the ball at our feet and attacking quicker.
"But I'm quite satisfied, since we're talking about the first friendly and very pleased at the build-up to the games against Rangers this month."
Ex-Rangers supremo David Murray on the club's new owners and why Gio shouldn't have been sacked
One of the danger men Rangers will have to keep close tabs on is striker Fotis Ioannidis who scored 15 goals last season for club and country.
The Greeks have already turned down a £17million bid from Fiorentina after the 25-year-old scored against the Italians in the Europa League in March.
Panathinaikos have moved to strengthen their side ahead of the Champions League qualifier.
They've brought in midfielder Pedro Chirivella from Nantes, left-back Georgios Kyriakopoulos from Serie B side Monza, and Algeria international centre-back Ahmed Touba from Basaksehir in Turkey.

Nicolas Kuhn is moving closer to the Celtic exit door after Italian media reported that Serie A side Como have struck a £16.5 million deal for the German forward. Respected transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano is claiming that all parties have agreed on a move for Kuhn, who was one of Celtic's most impressive performers last season. Advertisement Hide Ad Advertisement Hide Ad 'Como agree deal to sign Celtic forward Nicolas Kühn on permanent move,' Romano wrote on social media. 'Understand transfer fee will be €19m with medical tests to follow, personal terms also agreed in principle. Formal details being clarified and then all signed.' Celtic's Nicolas Kuhn is on the brink of joining Como in Italy. | SNS Group Kuhn, 25, joined Celtic from Austria Vienna in January last year and after a slow start to his career in Glasgow, he showed excellent form in the 2024/25 campaign, scoring 21 goals and providing 15 assists in 51 matches across all competitions. Numerous clubs across European football have shown an interest in Kuhn over the past six months, especially after scoring against RB Leipzig and Bayern Munich in the Champions League, but it is Como - who are managed by Cesc Fabregas and finished tenth in the Italian top flight - who appear set to now win his signature. Significant Celtic profit A sale of £16.5m would represent a significant profit on Kuhn for Celtic, who they bought from Austria Vienna 18 months ago for a fee in the region of £3m. Nicolas Kuhn Celtic transfer exit 'agreed' as Como see £16.4m bid accepted by Hoops
Kuhn is reportedly set to head to Italy with Como agreeing a £16.4m deal Como have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Nicolas Kuhn from Celtic for £16.4m. The winger has had plenty of interest this summer despite his explosive form tailing off towards the end of last season. A total of 21 goals and 15 assists in all competitions was more than enough to garner interest from Germany and Italy with RB Leipzig keen earlier in the window, although recent reports suggested their interest had cooled. Now it appears to be ambitious Serie A side Como closing in. Fabrizio Romano reports that they have agreed a fee of €19m (£16.4m) with Celtic, with Kuhn now set to fly out to Italy for a medical. It's claimed an agreement in principle has already been reached over personal terms with just the formalities left to iron out. It comes just 18 months on from the Hoops paying around £3m to sign him from Bayern Munich – and another example of their buy low, sell high recruitment strategy paying off substantially. Brendan Rodgers has already brought in Benjamin Nygren this month and the hope may be for the Swede to step up and directly replace Kuhn. However it's likely to lead to more incomings at Parkhead, where Celtic were already chasing another striker following the arrival of Callum Osmand from Fulham. 'Difficult' challenge at Man Utd appeals to former star who's ready to return
Former Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic has opened up on his coaching ambitions and the possibility of managing the Red Devils in the future Nemanja Vidic has expressed his ambition to take the helm at Manchester United someday. Signed by Sir Alex Ferguson back in December 2005 for £7million, Vidic turned out to be a bargain as he rose to prominence as one of the top defenders in the Premier League. During his trophy-laden stint in Manchester, Vidic celebrated winning 15 major honours, among them five Premier League crowns, before Louis van Gaal showed him the door following a dip in performance and injury woes. The Serbian ace hung up his boots after an 18-month spell with Inter Milan, with persistent injuries calling time on his playing days. Although Vidic has previously discussed delving into coaching, his main focus currently is his family, especially with three young kids at home. Nevertheless, Vidic admits to harbouring managerial dreams at the hallowed Old Trafford ground. "If I was to manage or coach anyone, it would have to be Manchester United," he disclosed on The Overlap. "I like things when they're difficult and to change something from difficult to good, this is something I like to do." Considering his immediate future, Vidic said: "I'm open an opportunity to be a coach, or to work in football as a Sporting Director, or even the Serbian President of the FA – that was the plan a few years ago – it didn't happen but maybe it could happen in the future." Vidic went on to open up about his ventures off the pitch and how his drive for excellence transcends into business. He said: "Obviously, what I'm doing outside [of football], business wise, creating a company which is going to be not just successful but is going to be who I am as well. "Everything I do, I like to do the best I can, and to produce the quality. In the business I'm doing now, with the apartments, that's what I'm trying to achieve as well. To create good apartments and nice buildings, which I'm going to be proud walking in, and being proud of what I've built." The ex-United star discussed the difficult side of fatherhood, especially when it comes to watching his son follow in his footsteps. He added: "It's difficult watching my son play football because he's playing centre-back and I see everything in terms of what he can do better. "I'm the type of person that when they see, they have to say – I can't keep it to myself. He's learning now to accept that but it's good. I like watching him when I see his improvement and in the last year, he has improved a lot." He also reflected on the family atmosphere at home and the subject of footballing expectations placed on his children. "In my house, we don't really talk much about football," Vidic said. "We don't talk about how many trophies I won – I'm not much in the media. People are always saying, 'Your son has pressure' – I don't think he has any pressure. He has an advantage. "Everyone knows who his dad is and the first thing they are going to do is compare and see how good he is. So, people will come to watch you, and if you are good, you are good."
