Nandyal: District Collector G Raja Kumari urged the unemployed youth to utilise job opportunities by actively participating in the upcoming job mela.
Speaking after unveiling the Job Mela posters during the public grievance redressal programme held at the PGRS Hall in the Collectorate on Monday, she emphasized the importance of such employment drives. On the occasion, the Collector highlighted that three job melas have already been conducted in the district, benefiting a significant number of unemployed youth. She mentioned that more employment opportunities will be facilitated in the future through the Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC). A Mega Job Mela is scheduled to be held on June 5 at KJR Degree College premises in Banaganapalle constituency. The event will see participation from 15 reputed private companies such as Unicharm India Pvt. Ltd, NS Instruments, Daikin, Quest Corp, Annapurna Finance Ltd, MedPlus, RBS Transmission, Zomato, Dodla Dairy, Amity Marketing, Dixon Technologies. Hetero, Axis Bank, Shirdi Sai Electricals and Amazon. Candidates who have completed 10th class, ITI, Diploma, Intermediate, Degree, B.Tech (Mechanical), B.Pharmacy, D.Pharmacy are eligible to participate. The Collector appealed to all unemployed youth in the district to make the most of this opportunity.

Kurnool: District Collector P Ranjit Basha has directed horticulture department officials to ensure completion of oil palm cultivation targets allotted to Kurnool district. On Monday, he unveiled wall poster related to oil palm cultivation at the Collectorate. Addressing the gathering, the Collector stated that for 2025–26, the district has been assigned a target of cultivating oil palm in 550 hectares and instructed officials to work towards achieving it. He highlighted that oil palm is a viable and profitable crop even under adverse climatic conditions and that the government aims to help farmers benefit financially by promoting this crop. He urged the officials to encourage farmers to take up oil palm cultivation and create awareness about its benefits. He emphasised that the crop could offer long-term income security to farmers and help stabilize their livelihoods. Under the National Mission on Edible Oils–Oil Palm (NMEO-OP), 13 mandals in Kurnool district have been identified for oil palm cultivation, including Kurnool, Krishnagiri, C Belagal, Kowthalam, Adoni, Holagunda, Mantralayam, Peddakadubur, Kosigi, Nandavaram, Yemmiganur, Alur, and Gonegandla. Farmers with access to irrigation facilities in these mandals are eligible for the scheme and the government will provide oil palm saplings free of cost, offering a 100% subsidy. Additionally, the government will extend support of Rs 5,250 per year for four years towards crop maintenance, along with another Rs 5,250 per year as intercropping incentives. The harvested crop will be procured directly by designated companies, ensuring market security for farmers. Terming oil palm as a high-income crop, the Collector urged farmers to adopt it on a large scale. Joint Collector Dr B Navya, DRO C Venkata Narayanamma, District Horticulture Officer Ram Anjaneyulu, APMIP Project Director Srinivasulu, and other officials were present at the event.

Andhra Pradesh State Skill Development Corporation (APSSDC) has launched the 'IndiaSkills 2025' campaign in the State. The Corporation's managing director and CEO, Ganesh Kumar, unveiled a poster of the event on Friday (August 1). The competition provides a national platform for young individuals to demonstrate their vocational talents and earn the opportunity to represent India at WorldSkills-2026 in Shanghai, China. Organised by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship (MSDE), India Skills 2025 is the country's largest skill competition, covering 60 plus skills from sectors like IT, advanced manufacturing, creative arts engineering and more. 'India Skills 2025 is not just a competition, it's a launchpad for promising careers,' said Mr. Ganesh Kumar and encouraged the youth from across the State to challenge themselves and make the State proud on the national and international stage.' Sharing details of the event, he said the last date to register is September 30. Participants' minimum age is 16 years and the age limit is 25 years. In general, participants must be born on or after 1 January 2004. For certain advanced technology skills such as cyber security, mechatronics and aircraft maintenance, the participants must be born on or after 1 January 2001. 2.07L farmers to be covered in Nandyal dist

Nandyal: The State government will officially launch the 'Annadata Sukhibhava' scheme on August 2, aimed at enhancing the welfare of farmers across the State. District Collector G Rajakumari made the announcement after participating in a video conference convened by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu from the Amaravati Secretariat on Thursday. The Chief Minister reviewed the preparations for the scheme's rollout with district collectors across the State. Speaking from the video-conference hall at the Nandyal Collectorate, Collector G Rajakumari stated that nearly 2.07 lakh farmers in Nandyal district would benefit under the scheme. Each eligible farmer will receive Rs 7,000, comprising Rs 5,000 from the State government under Annadata Sukhibhava and Rs 2,000 from the Central government under the PM-KISAN scheme. She directed the Agriculture Department to ensure smooth implementation and take proactive steps to avoid any grievances from beneficiaries. The Collector stressed the importance of completing the eKYC process, instructing officials to immediately address pending cases in all mandals. She urged farmers to complete eKYC at the earliest to avoid delays in receiving benefits. Additionally, she reminded all farmers cultivating paddy to pay their crop insurance premiums before August 15 through their nearest Rythu Seva Kendras to ensure coverage for the ongoing season.
