How much is Aaron Rodgers making with the Steelers? Here are the contract details.
Just how much is Rodgers making this season, exactly? The 41-year-old signal caller will make a $13.65 million base salary for Pittsburgh, per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.

Aaron Rodgers to continue Steelers rich tradition of mediocre quarterbacks
The deal comes with $10 million guaranteed, and Rodgers can make up to $19.5 million if he reaches certain contract incentives. That's not bad money for a quarterback who may only play a single season in Pittsburgh.
Why Aaron Rodgers' Steelers decision leaves Kirk Cousins stranded with the Falcons
If Rodgers reaches his ceiling for where he is in his career at this late stage, this will be a bargain for the Steelers. If he continues to regress as Father Time collects his due, Pittsburgh will regret this decision more and more as the season goes on.
Vegas isn't giving the Steelers much of an edge in Super Bowl odds, and his upcoming Steelers schedule isn't a cake walk by any means. Rodgers will be well compensated for his first season in Pittsburgh, but it's a very real question as to whether he's an actual improvement over the Russell Wilson-Justin Fields 2024 plan.

We'll know this fall if former Steelers quarterback Terry Bradshaw is right to call this whole Rodgers pursuit "a joke" or if the Green Bay Packers legend can write a successful new chapter for his career.
Rodgers will get a very fast chance to prove his 2025 talents as he faces off against his former team, the New York Jets, in the Meadowlands on Sept. 7 to open the season.
If Rodgers falters this fall, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin will have his hands full to keep Pittsburgh's impressive playoff streak alive. If Rodgers succeeds, then the Steelers could be real contenders in the AFC this year.

Kyle Shanahan's confidence in 49ers rising star could set table for new Super Bowl window
San Francisco 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan tied his future with the 49ers to quarterback Brock Purdy when the club signed Purdy to a massive five-year extension this offseason and erased all doubt about his status as their franchise QB. Shanahan on Tuesday in a press conference talked about his expectations for Purdy in 2025 and made it clear he doesn't believe the 25-year-old has played his best football yet. Purdy's continued ascension will ultimately determine whether the 49ers have a new Super Bowl window, or if there will be an overhaul of the coaching staff and front office in the not-so-distant future. 'I think Brock's played at a very high level since he's been here, since his first game in to his last game," Shanahan said. "I think Brock's played at an extremely high level and that's why he's earned that contract. I think the hardest thing with this League and the amount of money and the amount of coverage when people get contracts, there's all this other expectation of now what do they have to do? Brock needs to keep playing how he's always played and continue to get better like everyone does. You get better or worse, you don't stay the same. "So like, Brock has had a hell of a short career so far, he had a hell of an offseason. When you have a guy who is to me real in those ways, it hasn't been fake, the way he works, who he is as a man, what he's put on film, what we see every day, he will keep getting better and that's what we saw throughout OTAs.' It's pretty simple from the 49ers' perspective. Purdy isn't always going to be surrounded by a slew of All-Pros and Pro Bowlers. At some point he'll need to elevate his game and help carry the club that paid him $100 million guaranteed. That elevation is what the 49ers and Shanahan are banking on. Last season didn't instill a ton of confidence as Purdy put together his worst stretch of football at a time when the team was dealing with injuries to some of its top playmakers like Christian McCaffrey and Brandon Aiyuk. It doesn't sound like Shanahan is worried about additional regression this year. It's a catastrophe if there is. If Purdy does continue getting better like Shanahan believes he will, it puts the 49ers in a great spot to quickly continue competing for championships with Shanahan at the article originally appeared on Niners Wire: 49ers HC Kyle Shanahan: QB Brock Purdy "will keep getting better"

100 NFL Players Busted For Selling Super Bowl LIX Tickets, Social Media Snitches
Source: Kevin Sabitus / Getty Super Bowl LIX was a hot ticket. Maybe too hot for some NFL players and employees. More than a hundred are set to be fined and/or lose their allocation for the next two Super Bowls after league sources revealed they sold their tickets for more than face value. 'Our initial investigation has determined that a number of NFL players and coaches, employed by several NFL Clubs, sold Super Bowl tickets for more than the ticket's face value in violation of the policy,' NFL chief compliance officer Sabrina Perel said in a memo sent out to all 32 NFL teams. The 100 players represent a little over 6% of the entire NFL player rosters. But per an ESPN report, there are team employees, including coaches, who are among the number who sold their tickets. 'This long-standing League Policy, which is specifically incorporated into the Collective Bargaining Agreement, prohibits League or Club employees, including players, from selling NFL game tickets acquired from their employer for more than the ticket's face value or for an amount greater than the employee originally paid for the ticket, whichever is less,' the memo continued. Players and team personnel sold the tickets to 'bundlers' who were working with resellers, per the memo. Penalties will increase for anyone deemed to be working with the bundlers to help facilitate sales. Fines would be one and a half times what the player or employee sold the ticket for, and they would lose the chance to acquire them for the next two Super Bowls. There could also be suspensions involved. Some of the players involved have already elected to pay the fines. Those who lose their allotment would only be able to purchase tickets if they are playing in the Super Bowl. The league would not release names of players, coaches or team personnel who were part of the crackdown. Tickets for Super Bowl LIX in New Orleans, which resulted in a 40-22 win for the Philadelphia Eagles vs. the Kansas City Chiefs, ranged in cost from $2,588 to nearly $3,500 for the cheapest seats. On the high end, some tickets were more than $10,000. Paul Skenes dominant again, striking out 9 in 6 innings as Pirates blank D-backs 6-0
PITTSBURGH — Paul Skenes struck out nine and gave up three hits in six innings, Oneil Cruz and Ke'Bryan Hayes drove in two runs each, and the Pittsburgh Pirates shut out the Arizona Diamondbacks for the second straight game, 6-0 on Sunday. According to the Elias Sports Bureau, Skenes (6-8) is the first pitcher to have an ERA below 2 through his first 45 starts. The reigning NL Rookie of the Year sits at 1.89 for his career and 1.83 this year, which leads the majors. Skenes is the only starter this season who hasn't allowed a first-inning run. He struck out two in the first, including Geraldo Perdomo, who hadn't fanned in a league-best 39 straight at-bats. Jake McCarthy had a one-out triple in the second, but Skenes struck out James McCann and retired Alek Thomas on a popup to short. Skenes also worked around a leadoff double by Tristin English in the third. Cruz walked leading off the Pirates second and the majors stolen base leader with 34 was off and running when Tommy Pham singled to center field on a 1-2 pitch from Zac Gallen for a 1-0 lead. Gallen (7-12) allowed four runs on five hits in six innings. Arizona scored one run in the three-game series, winning 1-0 in 11 innings Friday night. Skenes hit Eugenio Suárez with a 3-2 pitch leading off the fourth and McCarthy doubled him to third with one out. Skenes then struck out McCann on three pitches and Thomas on six. Skenes has allowed one run or fewer in 14 of 22 starts this season after doing it 14 times as a rookie. The D-backs head to Detroit to begin a series against the Tigers on Monday, and the Pirates play at San Francisco. ___ AP MLB:
