Piers Morgan's ex wife 'fighting for her life' following freak accident
Piers Morgan 's wife was left fighting for her life following a freak accident. The former couple's son Spencer posted photos from hospital of himself alongside his mum.
Sharing with his followers what happened to his mum, Spencer explained how she had a freak accident several months ago, writes The Mirror.
He wrote on Instagram: "Seven months ago our mum was involved in a freak accident which left her fighting for her life… We were told on more than one occasion that there was little hope if any but against all odds she hung on in there and thanks to the two heroic surgeons in the third pic and countless others at @chelwestft she left hospital today after 218 days on the ward.'
He went on: "The staff labelled her a minor miracle but they are the miracle workers. My family are eternally grateful for their incredible work. Never give up."
However, he didn't explain exactly what happened. In the photos, Marion could be seen in a green dress as she stood in between two of her children, Spencer and Bertie, in a hospital ward. In another she stood between doctors.
Spencer also shared the moment that she left hospital to nurses clapping her as she walked through the ward doors. And another snap showed Marion walking out of hospital main doors while using a crutch and having her son at her side.
Many of Spencer's followers and friends flocked to the comments to send Marion well wishes. Among those sending their best wishes was Denise Welch, who simply sent five red love heart emojis.
Piers' former Good Morning Britain co-presenter Susanna Reid also commented: "The best news," along with a love heart emoji. And George Lineker, son of former Match of the Day host Gary Lineker, penned: "Buzzing for you all."
Marion and Piers were married between 1991 and 2008. They share sons Albert, Stanley, and Spencer together. After they split, Piers went on to marry Celia Walden and they welcomed daughter Elise in 2011.
Despite their split, Piers remained fiercely protective of his ex wife. Speaking to the Daily Mail in 2009, he explained their divorce had been a "pretty horrendous experience".
"The day Marion and I got divorced, I said, 'You know what? We can both go away feeling awful about this, but let's never mention it again'," he said.
He also admitted his ex had supported his Good Morning Britain exit. And he added of their good terms: "I don't regret it because these things happen, but I'm pleased that we've stayed good friends, because it's important for your kids.
"I produced three fantastic children with my ex-wife. The best advice I ever got was to speak to them every day - that's when you need your ex to be very accommodating.
"I've spoken to my kids, with just a handful of exceptions, every day in the last nine years."

Martine McCutcheon's pals reveal how Love Actually icon went bankrupt for a second time
Former EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon is having a rough time of it of late, with the newly single star recently declared bankrupt for a second time Former EastEnders actress Martine McCutcheon has been hit with another blow just a year after parting ways with her husband Jack McManus, with it revealed over the weekend that the newly single star has fallen on hard times financially. The Love Actually actress has reportedly been declared bankrupt, as per court documents, following a petition for insolvency over a debt owed to a finance company, official public records have disclosed. This comes on the heels of her having to reduce the asking price of her beautiful Surrey home. It's now claimed the star, who was once worth millions as an Olivier Award winner with a number one single to her name, lost her money due to "high spending habits" and struggling to land roles amid a battle with ill health. Martine's friends reportedly say their pal made some "highly questionable spending decisions" over recent years, like paying 'thousands' to the Mafia in order to tie the knot with ex Jack in Lake Como, Italy back in 2012. The mum-of-one being diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome (ME) in 2011 and Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) has also damaged her bank balance and seen her earnings take a dip. One of the star's friends muses how, despite appearing in one of the nation's favourite soaps and classic Christmas film Love Actually, Martine's most iconic roles came about over 20 years ago and "money does not last for ever if you do not invest it wisely." "It has not helped that she loves the finer things in her life, and it is no secret that she has spent more than she should have done over the years," the pal tells the Daily Mail. "She has had bits and pieces of TV work recently – but nothing has come close to being a blockbuster role that might get her out of her financial mess." They add: "It's a real shame as she's immensely talented with a wealth of experience. Hopefully she can turn things around, but she's had a real tough time." A court document indicates that the insolvency order was issued on 31 March this year, a few months after she announced her split from Jack, her husband of 18 years. The couple share a 10 year old son, Rafferty. The bankruptcy ruling, which was filed under her married name, Martine McManus, was handed down in March at the County Court in Guildford, instigated by a petition from a firm named LDF Finance. Meanwhile, Martine's company, Raven Music Ltd, was also wound up last month, a move initiated by HMRC due to outstanding tax bills. The most recent accounts reveal that the business had a tax liability exceeding £175,000, due within the 12-month period post-February 2022. However, the total amount of Martine's personal tax bill remains undisclosed, and it is yet to be determined whether the Official Receiver will call for a public examination of her bankruptcy, which would lay bare her financial situation. This isn't Martine's first brush with financial woes. Despite a previous net worth of around £2million, she faced bankruptcy in 2013 with debts totalling approximately £187,000, including a hefty £150,000 owed to HMRC. By the following year, Martine had been discharged from bankruptcy and was once again financially solvent. She and her now ex-husband splashed out a staggering £1.3million on their former marital home in Surrey just three years prior. Last year, the pair announced their separation after an 18-year marriage. Announcing their separation on social media, she stated: "After much thought and consideration, Jack has decided it's best for us to separate after 18 years together and I accept his decision. I continue to send Jack, all the love, luck and happiness for the next chapter of his life."

Danny Dyer wants to play the next Doctor Who with a twist
The actor, known for roles in EastEnders and Rivals, discussed his hopes for the role, sharing that he would like to put a "working class" twist on the BBC sci-fi show. It comes after it was confirmed that Ncuti Gatwa would be stepping away from Doctor Who, with Billie Piper expected to take on the role. But Dyer hopes that one day he might get the chance to step into the TARDIS. Danny Dyer wants to be the next Doctor Who Speaking to The Mirror about Doctor Who, Dyer said: "It's such an iconic thing to do. It's almost – not on the same level – like James Bond. It's a character that's loved by so many. "It gives you an opportunity with Doctor Who, because of the nature of the work, to bring something left-field, something a bit mental, a bit stylised, which I love. I love the idea of it." Sharing what his doctor would be like, Dyer said: "Well, he would be an incredibly working-class Dr Who. "Yeah, maybe a bit alpha. What I do, really. You've hired me for a reason - I don't think you'd want me to come in and play Doctor Who, you know, really posh." Recommended Reading Dyer added that maybe Doctor Who needs a bit of change with a working-class approach: "I don't think we've ever had a working-class Doctor Who, have we? Well, Jodie Whittaker, she brought a bit of that to it." Despite his hope, Dyer said that he has never been approached to play the role, sharing: "I'll be honest, no one's ever approached me about it. "But I see things now and again, my odds have been slashed to this, that and the other - it's definitely something I would consider."

BBC's Celebrity Traitors is ‘blowing a whopping £760,000 on cast salaries'
To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video The amount of money that the cast of Celebrity Traitors is being paid has reportedly been revealed ahead of the launch of the BBC series. Later this year, the celebrity iteration of the gripping gameshow is making its highly anticipated debut, boasting an array of high-profile British stars in the line-up. Comedian Alan Carr, singer Charlotte Church, presenter Stephen Fry and Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway are among those who'll be going head to head as either Traitors or Faithfuls, in the hope of winning £100,000 for their chosen charity. However, aside from one of them being awarded money for a worthy cause, it's also been claimed that each of them is being paid a significant salary to take part. On the latest episode of the podcast The Rest Is Entertainment, hosts Marina Hyde and Richard Osman spoke about the fees that the A-listers are receiving when they enter the castle with host Claudia Winkleman. 'It's certainly interesting to compare something like Celebrity Traitors on the BBC to I'm a Celebrity on ITV. Although we haven't seen the celebrity iteration yet, but we know it's gonna be massive. Look at the calibre of the people they got,' journalist Marina remarked. We don't have a fixed release date yet, but Celebrity Traitors is coming to BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn. We'll update you when we know more! Comedian Alan Carr Singer and songwriter Cat Burns Actor Celia Imrie Singer Charlotte Church Broadcaster Clare Balding Historian David Olusoga Former England rugby player Joe Marler Comedian Joe Wilkinson Presenter Jonathan Ross Good Morning Britain presenter Kate Garraway Comedian Lucy Beaumont Actor Mark Bonnar Actor and comedian Nick Mohammed Content creator Niko Omilana Singer and songwriter Paloma Faith Actor Ruth Codd Actor and presenter Stephen Fry Actor and comedian Tameka Empson Former professional diver Tom Daley The prize money for winning Celebrity Traitors will be £100,000, which will go the the charity of the winner's choosing. After Richard revealed that he's spoken to someone who's seen the first episode, and has heard that it's 'apparently amazing', Marina shed further light on the fees. I am spilling all my tea today. They're paying them a 40k fee,' she shared. If everyone in this year's series of Celebrity Traitors cast is receiving a blanket fee of £40,000, this would mean that at least £760,000 is being dished out on the stars taking part. This would also mean that the amount being paid to the celebrities is seven times greater than the £100,000 prize pot that'll be going to charity. However, these reported salaries are still far lower than the fees that are paid to stars who take part in ITV's I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! In 2024, it was claimed that Coleen Rooney had received the highest paycheck for entering the jungle, taking home a reported £1.5million. Former professional boxer Barry McGuigan is said to have received £500,000 for his stint on the show, while Harry Redknapp, who was crowned the King of the Jungle in his season, also apparently was paid the same amount. It was recently claimed that the cast of Celebrity Traitors faced a unique problem during filming, when members of the crew initially refused to tell them the time when they asked. More Trending 'When we were in the castle, you'd be like, 'What's the time?' And they'd say, 'It's Traitors time.' That was their response,' said Ted Lasso star Nick Mohammed on The Comedian's Comedian Podcast. 'Every single member of production had to answer with that until someone kicked off. And then someone said it is basically alright, and you can tell us the time.' Metro has contacted the BBC for comment.
