Actress
Neena Gupta
, who is awaiting the release of her upcoming film 'Metro... In Dino', has revealed that almost one track of her character was trimmed out from the cult-classic 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro'.
The actress spoke with IANS ahead of the release of 'Metro... In Dino', and shared that she had a track with actor
Ravi Baswani
. However, she told IANS that her entire track with Ravi was edited from the film.
Speaking with IANS, the actress said, "I had a track with Ravi Baswani. It was dropped from the final output. In fact, it got cut in the rehearsal itself. It was a major track. The film was very long on paper. We used to rehearse. We used to read the play.
They thought it was too long. So the makers cut our track."
She further mentioned that she has read the script of the film's sequel, which was also quite long. However, the film has been shelved, and the actress feels it's for better.
"I have read the script of 'Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro 2'. I have read the script. Very long script again. I was almost playing Bhakti's role. The film's producer called me. I forgot his name. I don't know what happened but it got shelved.
It's good that it didn't work out. Whatever is good, it shouldn't be made again. It is a classic," she added.
Earlier, the actress recollected an incident when she was ready to give her shot on the film's set but was asked to return to her van.
The actress shared that director
Anurag Basu
is very instinctive and perceptive, and is brimming with ideas till the last moment before the take.
She praised Anurag and said that the whole script is in his head and the best part of working with him is that he improvises on the spot.

Metro In Dino 3 Weeks India Box Office: Anurag Basu's movie gradually moves towards Rs 50 crore net club after poor start

Metro... In Dino, directed by Anurag Basu and starring Ali Fazal, Aditya Roy Kapur, Sara Ali Khan, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Nina Gupta, Anupam Kher, Pankaj Tripathi, Konkona Sen Sharma and others, has ended its 3rd week at the Indian box office on a slow but steady note, as has been the case for the film throughout its run. After a slow Rs 3.25 crore net start, it seemed as though there will be no way the movie will be able to manage even decent numbers. Dino Did Well To Hold Its Own Amidst Competition With Jurassic World: Rebirth and F1 doing the business that they were, and with Superman and a couple of other reasonably sized Bollywood films like Maalik and Aankhon Ki Gustaakhiyan hitting theatres immediate after, it looked like the movie would get completely sandwiched by its competition. That however didn't happen to be the case as Dino stood its ground, week after week. It netted Rs 25.45 crore in week 1 and dropped by less than 40 percent in week 2, as it collected Rs 16.25 crore. In week 3, the movie has added Rs 6.65 crore. These are excellent numbers considering that blockbuster Saiyaara hit the screens in this week. The Day Wise Net India Collections Of Dino Are As Under Particulars India Net Collection Week 1 Rs 25.45 crore Week 2 Rs 16.25 crore 3rd Friday Rs 1 crore 3rd Saturday Rs 1.70 crore 3rd Sunday Rs 2 crore 3rd Monday Rs 50 lakh 3rd Tuesday Rs 60 lakh 3rd Wednesday Rs 45 lakh 3rd Thursday Rs 40 lakh Total Rs 48.35 crore in 3 weeks Dino Looks To End Its India Run Netting Rs 55 Crore With Rs 48.35 crore net after 3 weeks, the musical romance is just inches away from the Rs 50 crore mark. It is likely to end its run in the vicinity of Rs 55 crore net (Rs 66 crore gross). The overseas collections are expected to end at an above-expected USD 1.4 million (12 crore gross), meaning that the movie will end up with a gross total of Rs 78 crore. This is not a solid or even a good number. But it shall be looked at respectfully since it opened to numbers where even a Rs 40 crore worldwide looked like a distant dream. Dino May Barely Breakeven BUT... Due to high production costs, the movie may just about breakeven at the box office. Had the costs been managed well, this could have been a profitable movie. All is not lost as T-series stands to gain big from the film's music. The music of Dino is a bonafied hit. Dino In Theatres Dino still plays in select theatres across the globe. Stay tuned to Pinkvilla for more updates.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Zoom TV (@zoomtv) On-Screen Chemistry With Sara Ali Khan in Metro… In Dino Aditya is also being lauded for his performance in Metro… In Dino, where he stars opposite Sara Ali Khan. Their fresh pairing has sparked major buzz, and audiences are loving their chemistry. In a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Aditya shared that he and Sara didn't know each other before filming. He said, 'We didn't know each other before. We just knew each other socially, and that's not the same as spending hours together on a film set working on something together. I learned everything about Sara on the job. Promotions were even more intense because you end up spending a lot more time together just being yourself." The actor, known for his romantic on-screen equations in films like Aashiqui 2, Ok Jaanu, and Malang, added, 'When it comes to chemistry, I don't think that's something that two people can sit and plan, saying we will now conjure it up. You can't do that, it's either there or it's not there. And that's for the audience to judge. Good writing helps, though and so does a good director, who helps to put you in situations that bring that out of both of you." He said, 'Having your film in the theatre is an amazing feeling and it's great to have that happen. I was so excited to be back with Dada (Anurag Basu, director) and doing another film with him. We had such a great time on Ludo but it felt like it was not complete. It felt like there was more to explore, so when he called about this film and told me the ideas that he had for this track, and for this character, it was very exciting and I just wanted to get back on set with him." Filmmaker Umesh Shukla, known for helming comedy dramas such as OMG-Oh My god and 102 Not Out, shares that he understands the fine difference between faith and blind belief. The director, who collaborated with superstars like Akshay Kumar, Amitabh Bachchan and Rishi Kapoor, recently revealed that he used to be a priest and performed pooja at different houses. Director Umesh Shukla reveals he was a priest While talking to IANS, Shukla said, 'I come from such a Brahmin family, that till the time I graduated, I used to go to people's houses, and perform Satyanarayan pooja, Lakshmi pooja, Nishadiya and other poojas. I used to get it done, myself, as a Brahmin. I used to go, in a dhoti and kurta, and get it done. So, our ritual was there. And with regards to that, I used to ask a lot of questions to my father, and my grandfather, and in that, I used to see loopholes. So, that came in handy, while I was working on the script of OMG – Oh My God.' He further added, 'He further shared, 'The humour and satire in the film came out very well.
