Baby Shower Guest Shocked After Being Told People Have to Pay to Attend: ‘I Might Be a Bit Out of Touch'

A Mumsnet user shared that her friend — a mother-to-be — is making guests pay to attend her baby shower at a teahouse
'It'll still be open to the public so they're not paying to hire it out or anything,' the baby shower guest explained
At the venue, the paying guests will be served foodA woman wants her baby shower guests to make it rain cash at the party.
One of the baby shower guests shared on the community forum Mumsnet that the mom-to-be is making friends and family pay roughly $13 each to attend her baby shower at a teahouse that will still be open to the public.
'I might be a bit out of touch here,' she wrote. 'My baby shower was 8 years ago now, but I just feel that it's a bit cheeky [to have guests pay] 😬.'
Guests learned about the unexpected fee after they had already RSVP'd and bought very specific gifts for the baby shower.
'We had a ridiculous gift list — everything very particular — with actual links to websites,' the pregnant woman's friend recalled. 'We all had to say what we were buying so it could be crossed off the main list. Whatever. I chose something and that was that.'
'Just had a message to say that food will be [$13] each and we need to pay cash on arrival,' she continued. 'I mean, it's been a month or so since people RSVPd and 'chose' their gift. And so now with this payment surprise thrown in, it would seem a little off to turn around and cancel.'
She noted that no one has called out the host for the demand, adding that the teahouse is owned by a family member of the mom-to-be.
'It'll still be open to the public so they're not paying to hire it out or anything,' she explained. 'The mom-to-be is a lovely friend so, of course, I will still go and have a nice time. BUT am I being unreasonable to find it all a bit cheeky and annoyed that it wasn't mentioned to start with?'

Many Mumsnet users replied that it's normal to be expected to pitch in for food if the baby shower isn't at someone's house or backyard.
'Well obviously if they're having the shower at a venue where you'd pay for food, you'd be, er, paying for the food 🤦‍♀️,' one person commented.
Other readers agreed, with one user responding, 'It's also expected to pay your space if it's something like an afternoon tea or a dinner, but if it's a BBQ in someone's garden then not so much.'
However, one person pointed out that she 'can understand it's a bit of a gray area as the family owns the tearooms.'

AEW All In Texas 2025 Results As Hangman Adam Page Dethrones Jon Moxley

Hangman Adam Page vs. Jon Moxley in a Texas Death Match. Hangman Adam Page beat Jon Moxley in a bloody and emotional main event at AEW All In Texas. Hangman Adam Page entered this high-stakes match as a massive -850 favorite over Jon Moxley as AEW entered the doorstep of a Great White Hope. With help from friends, enemies and old faces, Hangman Adam Page brought the AEW Championship home. Jon Moxley Vs. Hangman Adam Page And Everything That Happened Hangman Adam Page was played out by a live whistling theme. He then walked out to his old theme music to an enormous pop. Jon Moxley entered Globe Life Stadium in what Jim Ross called a Redneck Chariot. The chariot housed the Deathriders in the bed of the truck. There were two barbed wired tables outside of the ring. Fittingly, there hasn't been a single table bump all night. Justin Roberts clarified that the only way to win a Texas Death Match was by knockout or submission. There was a small sign that read 'If Mox Wins We Riot!' Hangman is 4-1 in Texas Death Matches, the best record in AEW history. Hangman Adam Page pulled out a fork. After being trapped in a Triangle choke, Hangman stabbed Mox in the head with the fork, immediately bloodying Jon Moxley. As Jim Ross reminisced about calling Texas Death Matches from back in the day, Excalibur cut him off as Moxley attepmted to strangle Hangman with barbed wire IRL. Moxley succeeded in a second attempt to bloody Hangman with barbed wire. Shafir followed up by biting at Hangman's forehead. Five minutes into this match—and 15 minutes into WWE SNME, and both combatants were bleeding. Marina Shafir brought out glass bottles in a bucket. She stomped shards of glass throughout the corner of the ring. Jon Moxley rubbed the glass in Hangman's face. Mox then dragged Mox's body through the broken glass as fans chanted 'you sick F!' Fans rallied behind Hangman as Moxley set up two chairs sitting nest to one another perpendicularly. Moxley wanted a powerbomb, a bloody Hangman headbutted his way out. Hangman turned the chairs around back-to-back and hit a powerbomb at the apex of the chairs. Moxley hit multiple clotheslines on Moxley before Wheeler Yuta hit The Hangman in the back with a steel chair. Page no-sold it and knocked out Yuta. Hangman hit the Angel's Wings on Moxley—an homage to Christopher Daniels—but did not get the full 10 count. Marina Shafir Jumped on the back of Hangman as he attempted the Buckshot Lariat. Hangman answered with a Cowboy driver through the table. Hangman continued like Mario with the Super Star and hit a Deadeye on Moxley. Yuta and Castagnoli finally cut Page off with a two-on-one advantage. Ospreay came to Hangman's aid, but was pillmanized by the Deathriders. This brought out a stretcher for Ospreay. A bloody Mox followed up with a suplex through two barbed-wired tables. The announce team talked about how shocked they were with the amount of blood in this match, and Excalibur—frustrated—lectured them about how this is exactly what they should expect in a Texas Death Match. Mox trapped Hangman Adam Page in a Bulldog Choke. Hangman beat the count by one. After taking a Death Rider through a steel chair, Hangman beat the 10 count again. As Moxley and the Death Riders prepared to finished off Page, Darby Allin appeared from atop Mount Everest. Darby said he was going to take everything from him. This brought out Daniel Bryan, who attacked the Deathriders. Darby Allin ascended from the top of the Globe Life Field to a huge pop. Moxley looked like he had seen a ghost. Hangman hit two Buckshot Lariats and a Deadeye through the table. The referee counted to nine and Marin Shafir pulled Moxley to his feet. Shafir flipped off Hangman, and the Young Bucks hit the ring with a double superkick. Moxley and Shafir brought out a bed of nails to a big reaction. Moxley hit a Stomp on the bed of nails followed by a Paradigm Shift on the nails. Page barely answered the 10-count yet again. Moxley asked Shafir for the key to the briefcase. Shafir was handcuffed to the timekeepers table by Prince Nana. This brought out Swerve Strickland, who knocked out both Young Bucks with the chain Hangman gave him at Collision. Swerve gave Hangman his chain back in a peace offering, and Hangman lynched Jon Moxley with the chain. Hangman hit a Buckshot Lariat onto the bed of nails. Hangman lynched Moxley again, who submitted to the biggest pop of the night. Hangman revealed the vintage AEW World Championship for a great moment.

WWE Saturday Night's Main Event XL Results As Jelly Roll Helps Randy Orton Win

Drew McIntyre recently returned to WWE programming. (Credit: Joe Maher/WWE via Getty Images) WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 2025 featured a hard-hitting battle between two of SmackDown's biggest stars: Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre. In front of a ____ crowd in the All State Arena in Atlanta, the recently returning McIntyre went one-on-one with 'The Viper,' who recently lost the King of the Ring tournament to Cody Rhodes. McIntyre was wrestling his first major singles match after a planned brief break from WWE that really left a gaping hole on the heel side of the blue brand. As WWE looks to establish new challengers for SmackDown's WWE Championship, currently held by John Cena, McIntyre and Orton faced off at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event as they attempted to cement themselves as potential world title challengers. WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 2025 Results For Drew McIntyre vs. Randy Orton Of all the matches ___ on the latest edition of WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, McIntyre vs. Orton was certainly the least predictable. Heading into the bout, there was definitely a case to be made that both stars badly needed the win. Orton, however, ultimately emerged with the massive win in Atlanta _____, defeating McIntyre with an RKO to ___________. It was the second consecutive Saturday Night's Main Event where McIntyre suffered a significant loss to one of SmackDown's top superstars ____. It was just back in May that McIntyre lost to Damian Priest in a steel cage match, putting over the former Judgment Day member before his planned hiatus. That was a sensible booking move that helped cement Priest as a borderline main event star as McIntyre got himself some much needed rest and relaxation. But in Atlanta, WWE found itself in a booking pickle with McIntyre vs. Orton, with both stars coming off key losses in their latest high-profile matches: Orton losing to Rhodes and McIntyre losing to Priest. Thus, WWE needed to carefully craft the layout of the finish at WWE SNME to heep both stars looking strong. That's exactly what WWE did _____. Orton and ___________. WWE Saturday Night's Main Event 2025 Results: What's Next Randy Orton and Drew McIntyre? Given their status as two of SmackDown's biggest stars, Orton and McIntyre both appear to be set up as potential WWE Championship challengers in the near future. Orton lost a close battle to Rhodes at Night of Champions only because he second guessed himself and decided against going for his devastating punt kick on 'The American Nightmare.' That decision ultimately cost him the match, and when the bout was over, Orton's menacing stare at Rhodes not-so-subtly hinted at a potential heel turn. Rhodes, of course, will face John Cena at SummerSlam, and the widespread expectation is that Rhodes will win back the WWE title at that event. That could potentially set up Orton vs. Rhodes II, possibly with an Orton heel turn to get there, though it wouldn't be surprising if WWE decided to hold off on that angle until the lead-up to WrestleMania 41 in 2026. If Cena retains against Rhodes at SummerSlam, Orton is unlikely to emerge as a WWE title challenger given that WWE recently billed Orton vs. Cena at Backlash as 'One Last Time' while WWE CCO Triple H said after the event that the bout was indeed their final match against one another. That makes McIntyre the more likely option to feud for the WWE Championship, whether it's held by Cena or Rhodes, immediately after SummerSlam. In early 2025, it was reported that WWE moved McIntyre to SmackDown mainly to set up a 'series' of matches against Rhodes, potentially for the WWE Championship. Though Cena's title win obviously threw a wrench into those plans, McIntyre vs. Rhodes may come to fruition, after all. Before we get there, Orton is reportedly set to team with rapper and singer Jelly Roll in a celebrity-filled tag team match against Logan Paul and McIntyre at SummerSlam. That should be a stopgap rivalry for all stars involved, especially with Paul's status as a part-time star. It should lead to another singles match between Orton and McIntyre that serves as the blowoff match to their rivalry and potentially sets either star on their path to a WWE title feud. After _______ at WWE Saturday Night's Main Event, McIntyre is a strong candidate to challenge for the WWE Championship immediately after SummerSlam, especially with a lack of other compelling options on SmackDown.

56-year-old Dustin Rhodes wins AEW gold in his home state

The crowd in Globe Life Field, and the AEW announcers and wrestlers on our screen, were still processing Adam Cole's possible retirement announcement from moments before. But the show must go on, and a new TNT champion needed to be crowned after Cole vacated. Cole's originally scheduled opponent Kyle Fletcher was a part of the 4-way for the vacant belt, as was previous champ Daniel Garcia. Both Garcia and his mentor Matt 'Daddy Magic' Menard shared a moment with Cole during their entrance. Three-time TNT titleholder Sammy Guevara was also in the match, along with the man he holds the ROH Tag titles with, Dustin Rhodes. That duo was in their second match of the night, after winning an 8-man on the pre-show. Rhodes and Guevara, together known as Sons of Texas, worked together on occasion, and didn't work against each other, including during a bit of fun where all three babyfaces hit Dustin's Unnatural Kick/Shattered Dreams on the favorite Fletcher. But their alliance broke down after Sammy inadvertently hit a corner drop kick on his partner. Garcia tried to take advantage of that, setting off a sequence that would end when Guevara took out Fletcher with a cutter as Garcia locked his partner in a Dragontamer. But Dustin was able to reverse the hold and roll the younger man up for a win, taking his first AEW gold in his home state at 56-years-old. The Texans in attendance loved it, as did the ones who came into celebrate with Rhodes, his nephews Wayne & Wyatt Rhodes and his trios partners Ross & Marshall Von Erich. A call that will be debated online, but felt right given what it followed. Fletcher will be champ soon, but All In Texas was Dustin Rhodes time.
