USA Todaya day ago
Former Michigan State Spartans star Jase Richardson impressed in his NBA Summer League debut on Thursday night.
Richardson dropped 14 points and dished out one assist in the Orlando Magic's opening game against the Sacramento Kings of NBA Summer League on Thursday. The Magic came out with the loss, but Richardson certainly was a bright spot for Orlando.
Richardson shot 5-of-8 from the field, and 2-of-3 from three-point range in the game. This was his first game since the Magic selected him with the No. 25 overall pick in the 2025 NBA Draft last month.
Next up for the Magic is another NBA Summer League game against the Toronto Raptors on Sunday. Before we look ahead to that matchup, let's check out highlights of Richardson's debut below:

De'Aaron Fox Reveals New Under Armour Curry Fox 2

Curry Brandhas offered the first official look at San Antonio Spurs point guard De'Aaron Fox's newest signature shoe, theUnder ArmourCurry Fox 2. The star player sported the all-new design while sitting courtside at the NBA Summer League earlier this week. Signed with Stephen Curry's classic three-inspired iconography on the TPU heel, the sophomore model appears in a vivid light blue hue with a UA Flow foam midsole and low-top shape. Notably, the design builds on Fox's inaugural model with a new lockdown strap. The first shoe boasted a fox-tail-inspired fastening system, while this latest iteration features a pointed silhouette. Elsewhere, 'Curry' lettering appears on top of the tongue, and Fox's signature motif lies on the middle of the strap. Curry Brand has not yet revealed an official release date for the Under Armour Curry Fox 2, nor has the label shared the price point for the design. Take a first look at the shoes above, and stay tuned for updates.

Aggie Football Alum Terrence Murphy hooks ownership role in SFC's Third Coast Renegades

Life after sports can be challenging for many athletes, especially when the game they devoted their lives to is no longer part of their daily routine. This is even more pronounced for professionals whose careers end abruptly due to injuries. There are countless cautionary tales of players struggling post-retirement, many of whom never planned for what came next or made poor financial decisions. That's why it's essential for athletes to seize opportunities to learn and build an identity beyond their sport. Terrence Murphy—former Texas A&M standout and Green Bay Packer—has done exactly that over the past two decades. Murphy was selected in the second round of the 2005 NFL Draft, but his promising career was cut short by a neck injury, forcing him to retire in 2007. Yet he was far from lost—he had already begun investing in real estate, laying a foundation for long-term success. Over the next 20 years, Murphy expanded his portfolio to include more than 100 companies across various sectors, including real estate, construction services, technology, venture capital, and sports. Beyond his regular youth camp in Bryan–College Station, Murphy has embraced the growing sport of pickleball, contributing as both an owner and media creator. His most recent move? Joining the ownership group of the Third Coast Renegades Angling Club, part of the Sport Fishing Championship (SFC). Founded in 2021, the SFC is a competitive sport fishing league representing 16 regions across North America. When asked what drew him to the Third Coast Renegades and the SFC, Murphy shared: "Fishing is about precision, patience, and purpose: the same values that drive successful teams and businesses. Through Third Coast Renegades AC, we're building something bigger than sport; we're creating legacy, community, and opportunity.' 'SFC is pioneering something new, and I'm proud to be part of it. And what also attracted me to SFC was the innovative team structure—they've built something truly unique by creating the camaraderie with teams and fans." Murphy's story serves as a powerful example for former athletes seeking purpose beyond the game. While not everyone will build an empire like his, they can discover something meaningful and fulfilling. Terrence Murphy has always been a go-getter, and it's exciting to imagine what he'll accomplish over the next 20 years. Notre Dame coach Mike Mickens is coming in for high praise

The Fighting Irish secondary is in good hands Mike Mickens is earning high praise for his recruiting skills. The Notre Dame defensive backs coach is also getting praise for his coaching skills. Combine the secondary's play in 2024 and the Fighting Irish recruiting haul from this offseason, it's clear to see why. Mickens is seen as being responsible for bringing DB recruits Joey O'Brien, Khary Adams, Ayden Pouncey, Chaston Smith and Nick Reddish. We all know how dominant the 2024 secondary was, even after Benjamin Morrison got hurt. What Xavier Watts, Leonard Moore and Christian Gray did en route to the national title game was a sight to behold. Mickens will be a coach to watch in 2025.
