Sir Elton John picks a side in Beckham feud with message to godson Brooklyn
Sir Elton John paid tribute to 'sweetest couple' Nicola Peltz and Brooklyn Beckham after they celebrated a huge milestone in their relationship
Sir Elton John risked being part of the Beckham family feud as he paid tribute to his godson, Brooklyn Beckham, and his wife, Nicola Peltz. The former aspiring photographer, 26, and his socialite wife, 30, recently celebrated five years since they got engaged with gushing social media posts.
Along with a photo of the two looking lovey-dovey, Brooklyn wrote: "It's been 5 years since I asked this beautiful woman to marry me xx best decision ever x I love you so much." Many celebrated the pair's huge milestone in the comment section, including Sir Elton - who is godfather to Brooklyn and Romeo.
The iconic singer tagged the couple and wrote: "Happy Anniversary to the sweetest, most loving couple," along with a few red heart emojis.
Elton has been close friends with Posh Spice for three decades and famously made a quick cameo in the 1997 Spice World movie. Victoria once revealed she was inspired to leave the Spice Girls by Elton in an emotional letter she wrote to her future self, stating watching him made her realise singing and dancing wasn't for her.
Posh Spice wrote: "Remember years ago, watching your dear friend Elton John on stage in Las Vegas? He performed 'Tiny Dancer', as if it were the first time, and you realised this was like oxygen for him.
"It was a life-changing moment — while singing and dancing was fun for you, it wasn't your passion. That day, you started your quest to uncover your own dreams. It was time to step away from being a Spice Girl."
In fact, the pals are so close and Elton has enjoyed many holidays with the Beckham family. The Beckham children even refer to the Rocket Man singer as Uncle Elton - with David once jokingly warning 'Watch out uncle' while sharing a video of son Cruz's impressive piano-playing skills.
However, the once close-knit family are currently embroiled in a feud centred around Brooklyn and Nicola, who recently purchased a huge home in the Hollywood area of Los Angeles.
In recent months, their marriage has been plagued by an ongoing feud with his famous relatives, with mum Victoria Beckham and dad David said to be at their wits' end over the tension.
On Monday, Brooklyn's younger brother, Cruz, took a swipe at his sibling after being grilled over Brooklyn's multiple career attempts.
One follower asked Cruz under his TikTok video of him playing the guitar: "Are you going to stick with this job or going to become a race car driver next or something?" they asked in the comment section. Cruz was quick to retort with: "Wrong, brother, mate."
Cruz is known to post cryptic posts on social media. It comes after a source close to the couple told the Mirror that actress Nicola is feeling "attacked" by "false claims" that are being made against her.

David Beckham displays his bandaged hand in a sling while showing off his homegrown vegetables as he recovers at home after operation on injured wrist
displayed his bandaged hand in a sling on Saturday as he recovered at home following an operation on his injured wrist. The day before, the former football ace, 50, left fans shocked when wife Victoria uploaded an Instagram snap of him in hospital after being left in 'unbearable' pain. A source told MailOnline that David underwent an operation to repair his wrist after breaking it during an England game 22 years ago. And at the weekend, David looked to be on the mend as he showed off his batch of homegrown vegetables, while also making a cheeky innuendo towards his wife. In a video shared to the 51-year-old Spice Girl's Instagram stories, which was captioned: 'Over performing on the cucumber front Sir David!', the sportsman could be seen inspecting his impressive garden haul. Filming her love before zooming in on his sizable produce, Victoria said: 'So this is this weekend's vegetable content. Look, he's overperforming on the cucumber front!' As she went to question if they were all from their garden, David jumped in, cheekily quipping: 'I'm not sure you could say that darling!' He then held aloft a large cucumber as Victoria giggled. It comes after the fashion designer posted a message of support on Instagram as he husband recovered in hospital. Alongside a snap of her husband, she penned: 'Get well soon daddy.' A second photo showed David with a bracelet that read: 'Get well soon'. Former England captain David broke his wrist in May 2003 in a friendly match between England and South Africa in Durban. Years later, pain and discomfort in the wrist and scans showed that there was a screw embedded in the wrist that was meant to have dissolved. After being left in 'unbearable' pain, the former footballer had surgery to remove it. David's hospitalisation comes after his eldest son Brooklyn proved not all family ties have been severed as he shared a sweet birthday tribute to David's mum Sandra on Thursday. The aspiring chef, 26, took to his Instagram page to acknowledge the celebration despite his recent social media silence on his dad's 50th milestone last month. Sharing a throwback picture of him and Sandra, he captioned: 'Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much.' Brooklyn's comment comes amid an ongoing family feud which escalated when he and his wife Nicola Peltz, 30, snubbed David's 50th birthday celebrations last month. Meanwhile David himself paid a special tribute to his mother as she celebrated her birthday - and ensured absent son Brooklyn got a mention despite their widening rift. The former Manchester United and England midfielder shared a carousel of photos featuring himself with mum Sandra from childhood to the present day as she turned 76. The post comes in the midst of a growing rift with eldest son Brooklyn, who live in the United States with wife Nicola Peltz Taking to Instagram, he wrote: 'Happy birthday mum we love you so much I hope u have the best day. Thank you for always being there for us all. Love you.' David rounded off the tribute by including the Instagram handles of various family members, among them younger sister Joanne and the retired footballer's three sons with wife Victoria - Brooklyn, Romeo, and Cruz. Daughter Harper, at 13 too young for social media, was given a hashtag as he ended Thursday morning's tribute. The post comes in the midst of a growing rift with eldest son Brooklyn and his actress wife Nicola Peltz, who live in the United States. Sources suggested that Nicola 'very much enjoys' Brooklyn's devotion and that this has been a key factor in the feud with his family. 'He will do anything Nicola wants,' one friend said. 'And that has very much been a thing in the fallout.'

Geri Halliwell says 'never again' after tense grilling on BBC Breakfast
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info Geri Halliwell has said 'never again' after she found herself in an uncomfortable situation on BBC Breakfast. Following the particularly awkward 2023 interview with hosts Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt, the BBC apologised to the Spice Girl. After the segment, Geri expressed that she would never want to appear on the show again., reports The Express. This has come to light amid allegations of bullying surrounding BBC Breakfast. This includes complaints against host Naga Munchetty, who according to MailOnline was reprimanded by executives. In a piece by showbiz editor Katie Hind, it was suggested that Naga, who is 50, is being unfairly made a "scapegoat" by Richard Frediani, the editor of Breakfast since 2019. Frediani is currently the subject of an internal investigation, which has prompted several staff members, including show host Charlie, to share their experiences. However, it would be interesting to know Geri's thoughts after she appeared on the programme to promote her latest novel. Naga probed Geri on whether she had "researched" her interviewers before agreeing to chat. Sign up for Edinburgh Live newsletters for more headlines straight to your inbox During the awkward discussion, Naga said: "You've come in, making sure you've done your research on us as well, haven't you?" Charlie then jumped in and said: "Also, you point your finger quite a lot, to be honest." Shocked, she replied: "Is that rude?! I'm so sorry, Charlie." Naga then bluntly said: 'Do you not like being interviewed?' Breakfast insiders reportedly shared that Naga got the heat for that interaction, even though Charlie was just as involved in the interview. Frediani is now on extended leave after years of complaints against him, at least one of which was upheld, although many have been dismissed. Those who know him say that he's "desperate to return to his job" and will be hoping his colleagues back him under questioning. Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages. Frediani's behaviour has long attracted negative attention, with complaints about his managerial style dating back to April 2020, just months after he started working at the Corporation. In that short period since his arrival, a series of complaints had already been made about an 'intimidating and bullying' culture on Breakfast, which led to long-term members of staff leaving their jobs. One employee, who wished to remain anonymous, told me shared that the "whole atmosphere had become poisonous" and like a "boys club". When reached out to BBC for comment, they responded: 'While we do not comment on individual cases, we take all complaints about conduct at work extremely seriously and will not tolerate behaviour that is not in line with our values. "We have robust processes in place and would encourage any staff with concerns to raise them directly with us so they can be addressed.'
