Leadership
Dr Al Ashiri linked Bahrain's stance to the leadership of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the continued support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
'Bahrain's position is clear,' he said. 'The Palestinian people have a right to an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.'
Al Saleh said the Kingdom's presence formed part of its effort to back Arab causes on the global stage.
The session also saw the swearing-in of new members and the unopposed appointment of Saudi Shura Council member Saad bin Sulaib Al Otaibi as First Deputy Speaker.
Forums
Proposals to establish forums for Arab women and youth MPs were approved. Reports from the Parliament's standing committees were also adopted for submission to the relevant authorities.
Dr Adel Al Maawada, from Bahrain's Shura Council, took part in the session and contributed to the work of the committee on foreign, political, and security affairs.
He said the meeting showed growing Arab engagement with core issues.
'The session discussed a number of key matters,' he said, 'including developments in Palestinian territories, regional tensions, the importance of maintaining the ceasefire, avoiding military conflict, and working to keep the region free of weapons of mass destruction.'
Reports
Members also reviewed reports from the legal, economic, social, and Palestinian affairs committees, as well as notes from the Rafah visit and a side meeting held during the Arab Summit in Baghdad.
Other items on the table included plans for a conference on the blue economy, a draft law to address irregular migration, proposals to support social enterprises and home-run businesses, and steps to improve online education across the Arab world.

Israel opposition chief calls for end to Gaza war

Following the swift conclusion of Israel's war against Iran with a ceasefire last week, foreign leaders such as US President Donald Trump as well as Israeli exprime minister Naftali Bennett have pressed Netanyahu to find a similar off-ramp in the fight with Hamas. 'There is no longer any benefit for the State of Israel from continuing the war in Gaza. Only damage on the security, political and economic level,' Lapid told a meeting of lawmakers from his parliamentary group. 'This is also the position of the army,' he added. 'Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir appeared before the cabinet yesterday and said that the political echelon needs to decide on the next objective. Ashura, repatriation and GCC prep dominate Cabinet
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting on Monday, guiding national efforts on three critical fronts - Ashura preparations, crisis response, and the upcoming GCC summit in December. Unity through coordination The Cabinet began its session at Gudaibiya Palace by reviewing the measures taken by authorities to implement the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa for the organisation of Ashura. The meeting reaffirmed that openness, tolerance, and unity remain the core values of Bahraini society. Cabinet members emphasised that religious occasions such as Ashura are opportunities to strengthen national cohesion. They welcomed the outcomes of the annual meeting between the Minister of Interior and the General Authority of Husseini Processions, along with ma'atam officials from across the Kingdom. Strategic focus In light of the summer period, the Cabinet approved a temporary shift to a bi-weekly meeting schedule for July and August. This adjustment allows more targeted follow-up on national priorities and international engagements. The Cabinet also reviewed and approved several memorandums, including developments under the Government Priorities Framework 4.0, a transfer of Bahrain's share in the Bahrain Agriculture Development Company to Mumtalakat, trade protection measures within the GCC, and the results of national examinations for ninth and twelfth grades. Additionally, the Cabinet was briefed on recent ministerial engagements abroad and Bahrain's recognition as a leading destination for events at the WOW Asia Awards.
