Apple is considering tandem OLEDs for its 2028 iPhones
According to a recent report from The Elec, Apple is currently evaluating plans to bring tandem OLED displays to the iPhone. The display tech made its debut on the iPad Pro (2024) and brings two OLED panels layered on top of each other. The benefits include higher brightness output and reduced power consumption.
Apple is currently evaluating the optimal tandem OLED display for the iPhone, and it apparently prefers a simplified implementation to the one used on the most recent iPad Pros. A simplified tandem OLED would still consist of two panels, with the second OLED layer only including the blue subpixels, while the primary panel houses the red and green ones. LG Display has allegedly contacted Apple about a simplified tandem OLED display last year, and Apple is also in talks with its other key supplier - Samsung Display.
Apple usually operates a standard two-year schedule for development and mass production, and the new report suggests the earliest iPhone with a tandem OLED would appear in 2028. While the report does not go into detail about which model of the iPhone would receive the new display tech, it will likely be an exclusive feature for Pro models.

OnePlus 15 to come with a radical design change Comments
B So the 13S/T will be the new 15 and then they will call the 15 which supposedly should be like the 13 as 15 pro or something. F Typical BBK electronics phone. Anonymous, 40 minutes ago Pricing down? Are you delusional? Since when has that been the trend? The real value of any cu... more if they make a worse product they should either lower the price or put some other extra feature to make the product worth it. That's the value proposition, what you get for your money. If they give worse value then in the past then that's not good. ? jiyen235, 1 hour ago hope they lower the pricing as well or improve the video recording, selfie and speaker quality... more Pricing down? Are you delusional? Since when has that been the trend? The real value of any currency is declining steadily each year, and you expect them to price their product even lower? 🤦♂️ hope they lower the pricing as well or improve the video recording, selfie and speaker quality to make up for it all. If not then this'd be a disgusting change. I Hope to see something smaller M Are they making Pixels now? A I think they have decided to position the Oneplus a little lower to compete with phones like the IQOO 15. Oneplus is becoming Oppo's 'cost effective' brand similar to IQOO is to Vivo and Redmi is to Xiaomi in China. The Oneplus 15 might actually be cheaper than the Oneplus 13. It kind of makes sense also to distinguish it from OPPO's find x series. The Oneplus 13 was better than the find x8 pro (apart from cameras where it didn't have any 6x zooom) but was significantly cheaper. As a result the find x8 pro had very poor sales in China as most savvy consumers realised that the Oneplus 13 was better value for money. Perhaps they are trying to distinguish more now between the Oneplus flaghsip and the Oppo find x pro model by making Oneplus a clear performance focused phone with Oppo being more Camera focused. The camera hardware gap from the Oneplus 15 to Oppo find x9 pro is likely to become larger I think than the current generation. ? If OnePlus 15 have a same display as OnePlus 13, then i will buy it tbh, but oh well, looks like will stick to OnePlus 13 or IQOO 13 e OnePlus is skipping OnePlus 14 because the number 14 is considered an unlucky number in China
